Marvel Cinematic Universe thread: Another thread bites the dust

I feel so dumb for not realizing the line "Vers to Starforce" is a direct reference to Toy Story with Buzz saying "Buzz Lightyear to Star Command"
Apparently from some discussion I've read, it's not quite as much a departure from the comics as it seems. The Kree have always been massive dicks in the comics - and Talos also says in the movie that the Skrulls aren't exactly innocent either. They're just tired of the war and want to move on - but the Kree seemingly won't stop until the whole race is genocided.
I can't tell if that's just how she is, or if she's still in character during this interview...
Amazing movie, I give it a 8/10
Captain Marvel's screen presence was okayish, but all of the supporting actors made it a great ride
Goose for strongest avenger
Continuity error (or retcon, however you want to see it)
SHIELD exists, didn't Iron Man imply the agency was new? Or at least the name was?
The Agency itself has been around since the 40s, see: Agent Carter. The name SHIELD is relatively new, in comparison.
Issue I see is, wasn't SHIELD supposed to be a secret? Meanwhile, Fury just waves the badge and introduces himself as an Agent of SHIELD, no worries.
I got the impression that he knew what he was going to encounter and waving a SHIELD badge would matter as much to Captain Marvel as a dollar store police badge.
tbh Sam jackson singing Mr postman is worth the price of admission alone
and the studio sting ;_;7
Goose got the biggest laughs at my screening. Afterwards, I enjoyed geeking out to all of my friends about how accurate he was to the source material. (I'm the only one in the group who has actually read those comics.)
Something that impressed in hindsight about the movie was Goose. I knew what that cat really was and what it was capable of. But the tease of not revealing it right away over and over actually made get caught off guard when it actually opened its mouth.
I applause the production for that.
Can't wait for them to explore the Ruins universe.
Disney says its Fox takeover will take effect on March 20
I wonder how they are going to integrate all the fox-owned marvel heroes into the MCU.
I swear the only way they could do it with the fantastic four is making yet another origin story movie.
Well they didn't do a full on Spider-Man origin story, they don't need to do a F4 one.
They could start the movie where Rise of the Silver Surfer started off at: after their first outing as heroes, and we only hear about it due to in-universe media coverage.
Captain Marvel spoilers So does Kree blood prevent you from aging or something. Is this some Inception thing where Danvers spent a day in some other galaxy and 25 years passed in ours
She lived 6 years as a Kree, it's certainly possible she benefited from some kind of life-lengthening technology while there. Or they could pull a FTL/relativity thing since I guess she can fly at "light speed." From her perspective, she's only been gone 6 months!
I did read somewhere that that was an explanation, but I think what I read may have been fan theory.
Mar-Vell's ship isn't using wormholes to travel, it's using wormholes + a supra luminal drive to gotta go fast, it's probably been 2 or three years from her perspective versus the twenty twoish here. Also as if Marvel has ever been about details.
For whatever reason the forum ate the explanation, but the whole point of the movie was that Mar-Vell's ship was supra luminal, so she's been using both wormhole tech and supra luminal tech for twenty two-ish years, plus kree tend to live a long ass time and have access to nanotech, put all three together and basically CM is effectively immortal.
Well wasn't she out in the vacuum of space 2 or 3 times during the film w/o a helmet? I remember wondering how she could survive, even for the few seconds it takes her to put on her mask/helmet thing and decided it was because of Kree blood + explosion.
She was only exposed to open vacuum once and it wasn't in space itself, it was in the depressurized area of the skrull ship and only for like four seconds.

I really hope GotG Vol 3 has the DnA costumes for all the crew because this?

This is a piece of art in regards to comic-to-screen adaptations
That stinger confirms the clip that was shown at the Disney Investors meeting to be true, or at least partly, anyway. That being the case, I will struggle to mask my disappointment.
Well they kinda spoiled Stark making it back.
Totally agree. That looks so much like the comic costume.
