Given thier power level, I'd assume the stones operate on a "know what you meant" basis and compensate for things like that.
The entire reason the stones are sought after so hard is because there's no monkey's paw clause. It was thought no one would be able to ever get them together without attracting serious juju, which is why the Abstracts never bothered to contraindicate them being around in the open.
Well Hulk did discover how to move time thru a person, so you can de-age him pretty easily.
That's exactly what I meant
The infinity saga begins and ends with irony It begins with Tony having his own weapons turned against him, and it ends with Tony turning Thanos' weapon against him. I am irony man.
In the plane example used earlier, imagine if the pilots got snapped. The plane would crash soon after, so the people on board who survived the snap still died and aren't coming back. In this case you'd be safer if you did get dusted, assuming Stark's snap took that into consideration.
Stark's snap only wiped out Thanos and his forces. Banner's snap brought everybody back.
After everythong thats happened I hope the Russo's are the showrunners for Falcon and Winter Soldier so we can get something a lil closer to TWS than CW and IW/EG. Also throw in the Serpent Society like was originally intended for CW and with Black Widow further expanding the spy/military MCU lore bring in some more international heroes like Union Jack
Serpent Society was never planned, it was a fake title to reveal Civil War after the other movies.
So somehow I avoided spoilers all week and saw the movie last night. Damn what a fucking movie. The only thing I thought was weird, was how hyped Captain Marvel was as a character and she wasn’t even in the movie for like 90% of it.
You should tag the rest of your post here. That's a spoiler.
Am I the only one bothered by the fact that Banner essentially murdered Hulk?
The snap wiped out half of all life, Hulk and Banner were two different personalities in one body. Previous attempts to control Hulk just aimed him, but all of a sudden a few months in a gamma lab and Bruce has total control of hulks power after the snap. Bruce was the one who undid the snap and could also decide to bring specific people back or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkMKzdTBEOc
I thought he just combined the personalities
I thought “I’m always angry” implied that Hulk was just an extension of himself rather than a separate entity
I haven't seen The Hulk but from Thor: Ragnarok I'm pretty sure that Hulk and Banner have separate sets of memories and neither is aware of what the other is doing
Hulk is part of Banner's psyche. Bit of a shadow, bit of an anger-prone child, but still part of Banner. So I guess Banner went full Persona on Hulk, and now both of them are a 500 kg green supergenius.
Endgame Spoilers Serves as a good reminder that Bitches Loves Spider-Man.
My dad said the exact same thing. and it got me thinking, I think that is possible. because you keep all your memories right? Antman knew he was a baby and an old man so de-ageing captain America seems like it can be done. i guess no one can turn old right?
It's going to be very Awkward when a Hydra agent goes up to Cap in that alternate timeline and says Hail Hydra.
Not gonna lie I was like one of five people who waited for crazy fan stuff to do The Amazing Spider-Harem, but holy shit what the fuck Olsen?
Saw the movie a few days ago, left pretty okay but overall, it was okay. I really expected more with thanos. I know big purple dude was built up for a while and infinity war was 'the thanos movie' but the thanos here just felt like a super generic cgi bad guy. Without any of the experiences that old thanos had, and seemingly the lack of hardships (even though his planet had still died, etc, he felt like thanos from gotg where he had no backstory) it just felt like a waste of him when infinity war thanos was more somber, wanting it to just be over, after going through so much. would have been better if there was no thanos involved and it was just the team going through hardships and trials instead of a tacked on cgi boss battle with masses of dudes ramming into each other.
I just saw it today and was pretty whelmed. Time to chip in with my token negative opinions, but starting with the good- First half of the movie was great. Loved seeing the characters have to grapple with the new paradigm they lived in. Characters defined by victory and success defeated so utterly was a great extension of the successful subversion of Infinity War and I really enjoyed it. Had some of the BY FAR best acting in the whole MCU. Tony breaking down at Cap, Nat's holo-meeting scene, Ant Man seeing Cassie again, Chris Hemsworth's once again MASTERFUL acting on display a few times. Seeing the subtle but heartbreaking change wash over his character when confronted with the memory of Thanos and all that he had lost really brought me back to that scene with him and Rocket in Infinity War. Truly a character that had lost everything and you could see it in his eyes. Him beheading Thanos in an act of fruitless, futile vengeance was the best scene in the entire movie IMO. That's about where my positives end, though (minus how good the spectacle and some of the directing was). I get that Thor is getting increasingly relegated to comedic relief but I felt they overdid it in this movie after how well they handled his character in IW. They didn't really take his PTSD and Depression lightly per se, but his alcoholism in the face of it sort of was. Him being a fat slob was never funny or endearing at all to me, it hurt to watch, and I'm sure anyone else that has had an alcoholic in their life feels the same. The gradual tonal shift to more lighthearted shenanigans throughout the movie disappointed me once I saw where it was going. I was hoping Endgame would be a continuation from Infinity War, not a departure from it in that department. The introduction and existence of alternate timeline Thanos really represents everything I dislike about this movie. They killed off the actual interesting and compelling villain from Infinity War and replaced him with a caricature. Easy to hate and root against. Thanos from Infinity War may have introspected a bit more about learning of the consequences, legacy, and reception of his plans realization. He genuinely thought that the world would be grateful in the end, so I was hoping his reaction to the remaining 50%'s anguish would have a little more depth to it than "welp guess I'll just kill the other half lol!!". 2014 Thanos vs the Avengers felt like fanfiction. Likewise, the Avengers fight against him and their eventual victory felt pretty damn hollow for me. This isn't the Thanos that succeeded, nor the Thanos that killed all of the characters I loved. It's not the Thanos that I genuinely felt gut-dropping fear and awe every time he was onscreen in Infinity War, and it's not the Thanos we saw have to go through so much to succeed in his quest. I was simply not invested at all with the great value Thanos we got instead who was brought back just to be the centerpiece of the big battle at the end. And finally, both of Tony and Cap's endings felt cheap as hell to me. The introduction of Morgan's character was a pretty transparent ploy at making his death more sentimental and emotional, but didn't really do anything for me considering that we went from Tony's family life being introduced like less than 2 hours from his death. If they had introduced them even a movie earlier it would've worked far better IMO. Cap's ending was just really unsatisfying from a narrative perspective. He's had to struggle so much with leaving behind his past, learning to move on and make a new life and new relationships in the present. It's pretty much been the conflict at the center of his character. If you asked me one thing to take away from Caps character in the MCU, it would be that "the past is left in the past", but of course, he just goes back and time travels and washes away the 10 years of development he's had on that front. A few other things - The directing, score, and sound design carried this movie for me. So many scenes became so much more than they were because of the brilliant work done here. I loved the way they made me feel throughout the movie. A very particular thing for me, but I kind of wish that they didn't have Tony snap Thanos' army. The visual of characters just turning to dust was so... harrowing and mortifying in Infinity War, to where I feel like only a truly cataclysmic evil could put it into motion. It's a very insidious display, to where I kinda feel a bit offput by it being the vehicle of the big heroic triumph. I don't love the lines "Avengers Assemble" and "I am Iron Man" as much as everyone else. I get why they're there, particularly with how they call back and bookend the characters, but I couldn't help but feel that they were kinda canned and eye-rollers. I'm not super into fan-service as a whole, though, so I can respect their inclusion. It's just my subjective preference. I'd give it a 7-7.5 or so. They had a heavy task both living up to and concluding the story of Infinity War, but I'm still a little disappointed that they didn't quite get there for me. Even then, could've been a bit better with what they had.
https://old.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/bkoh9p/i_met_jim_starlin_today_and_he_confirmed_a_theory/ Jim Starlin confirms the design of Thanos' weapon is indeed inspired from the Thanoscopter.
They'll probably just assume it was Loki pretending to be Cap, though Cappy himself might have some doubts, considering everything about the confrontation.
Did anyone else feel as though there was meant to be another Hulk movie planned between the last two Avengers films?
I saw a theory that they could use the radiation released by the snaps to explain where mutants could possibly come from, now that wouldn't work for mutants that existed before the snaps, guess they could be natural mutations
They can't make standalone Hulk movies because Universal owns the rights for that. The story was instead spread across Avengers and Thor movies.
Its neat that Mark Ruffalo was promised enough screen time spread out in other movies to equal his own movie and if you add up his total screen time, actually gets the longest movie out of every character.
I wonder if it would be possible to cut a coherent hulk movie from his scenes
