Disney should really be taking notes.
holy fuck, for one i'm gladeuron finally fucked cersei so he can finally shut the hell up about getting that royal pussy.
since when was jon such a fucking pushover? dany basically implicitly threatens his sister to his face and he doesn't even fucking react?
He probably wasn't listening, like most dudes do when their girls complain.
Just planting the seed for the next episode, Sam being upset about his brother and father clearly affected Jon.
Seems the plot of this season is probably going to align with the Exodus theory. I'm willing to imagine the battle of winterfell is going to be a disaster. Or, its going to be a diversion to keep the white walkers as occupied as possible. While everyone else escapes from the wrath of the undead army. This is probably why Daenery's fleet was destroyed in season 7. Forcing whoever remains after the aftermath of the white walker attack on winterfell to invade King's landing for the sake of getting a fleet to escape towards Essos.
I have to say, this final season is starting off pretty well.
They managed to get all the main characters some modicum of screentime and we witnessed some fairly powerful moments (Jon being told his lineage being my favorite, of course).
The only things I could complain about are personal issues I had for the series as a whole since last season (namely that, at this point, the moral ambiguity and that distinct low fantasy feeling the series built its success on have been completely thrown out of the window and Euron Greyjoy, a threatening "Rage against the Heavens" magical knight in the books, is being adapted as a washed out, thuggish Jack Sparrow wannabe).
Also, I stand on my belief that the whole dragons riding scene was pretty much CGI showing-off
And if the exodus theory does hold true. I imagine a lot of people are going to be mad at that for happening. "It was all for nothing, that means everything that happened was for nothing". Except the entire show has hinted that the White Walkers have been planning to invade Westeros for a long ass fucking time and are possibly going to win it. And overall. Given the themes of political divide and themes of senseless violence, warfare, and petty conflict between the political leaders of Westeros. It seems pretty fitting that the White Walkers would win in their conquest of Westeros.
Overall, if its executed as good as possible. It could be a very haunting message, especially given the state of the world atm.
It looked like from the first trailer there was gonna be a battle of the trident 2.0
I think part of the exodus theory might hold true, but might get fucked up cause Cersei is gonna off herself and the whole of KL with its fleet and food stores. Jon will come out as Rhaegar's son to rally the remaining southern houses for one desperate crapshot. They'll figure out what the NK wants and be forced to give it to him, whatever that is.
that part with the wight kid was fuckin radical. that's why swords should always be on fire, it looks awesome even if you're killing an adorable zombie child
i usually notice things moving in the background during horror or thriller movies but somehow the impaled child on the wall coming back to life totally caught me off guard
I even saw the whole thing coming.
But then he started screaming.
They actually strapped a dwarf stuntman to that rig and set him on fire
oh yeah, the screawas pretty nice too
I have to be the stick in the mud and complain that I wasn't too invested in that first episode. The writing, particularly the character interactions, is really starting to come apart at the seams under the weight of the scale of the plot. You can really tell when two characters are talking to each other, which one has had their arc wrapped up and which one is still waiting for theirs to end. The scene where Arya and Sandor meet up again was deflated to a comedic extent. Scenes like the one where Theon rescues Yara almost seem like afterthoughts. That action scene played out like something out of The Walking Dead.
It's not all bad, though, or even unexpected. The last season was never going to play out in a super satisfying way, and the content each scene is covering is at least interesting, with the world finally feeling like it's coming to some sort of apocalyptic climax. I really liked Sam's reaction to the death of his family, and how he told Jon about his heritage was actually really well done. I'm not going to lie and say I'm not utterly excited for all the action set pieces that are coming up, that first episode was just pretty eh. It's not just because of the typical first-episode pace, either. It just felt a bit...messy?
Sounded like a fleshbeast from fucking The Thing.
Also, I bet a diamond that Sandor will die, be raised as a wight, and be put down by Arya.
Callin' it
anyone else think that dragon looked horny as hell
maybe bran is always in the courtyard because winterfell doesn't have wheelchair ramps
There's currently a Gofundme (or site similar) to buy Bran a ramp so he can get out of that courtyard, ATM it's in the thousands
Gonna laugh my ass off if Daeny ends up with Yara
Sam is gonna end up killing Daenerys, don't @ me
Not for hos father. He's just distraught.
Northerners just can't stop bitching about everything and it's become grating for me to watch. They're so set on being killed that I've ceased to care if any of them live.
The Yara rescue was so easy, rushed and ultimately pointless it negates why they even had her captured.
I'd guess that they thought they'd have more time to shoot that, instead of only having 6 episodes this season. I'm sure there's going to be a few more smaller moments/plot points that seem rushed because of their time constraint.
I really miss the slower pacing, all of the characters have multiple layers and complexity that I have geniune fun just watching them interact and learn more about each other.
Yeah, you could see his eyes open in the out of focus background. That's what made it even worse. You know the fucker is gonna pull something, but not that.
He just needs a push
My name is Bran Winterfell and my favorite hobbies are not walking and making people mildly uncomfortable.
“Mildly” is putting it mildly
I swear to fuck if the Exodus theory goes with Daeny having to fuck Yara so they can use the remaining Greyjoy fleet, I'm gonna die laughing.
