MY EXPECTATIONS THEY'VE BEEN SUBVERTED
It’s kinda funny how people kept making Mass Effect 3 comparisons about the second episode this season, only for it to fumble in the end in nearly the same way
Wasn't this choice for the throne always like a meme
“No one is very happy, so it means it’s a good compromise, I suppose.” -Tyrion David Benoif and DB Weiss
I will defend the Mass Effect 3 ending, as it makes sense in light of the facts, despite clashing with the spirit of the trilogy. This, however, won't get that.
My expectations are still intact. WAIT D&D NO NO
This has turned into a bizarre comedy bit
Straightening chairs for a minute straight in the finale with so much ground left to cover Did Andy Kaufman direct this episode
That was ass But I'm still glad I watched it "A Song of Ice and Fire" was really good, though
JON FINALLY PET THE PUPPY.
And now my watch has ended
Didn’t hate it, honestly. It’s more frustrating than anything, but I was entertained. I really do get the impression of D&D trying to please everyone but going so far to one end of the spectrum that they managed to alienate the fan base.
This is the stupidest shit ever
Eh, gotta finish ADWD, then I hope TWOW is released sooner than later. And ADOS feels like a dream indeed, but, the book characters ending up at a similar situation may prove to be more interesting.
That was honestly the biggest drop in quality for a final season I've ever seen. I'm so depressed and let down.
What the fuck
It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. Though now I want an Arya spin-off
This was okay, but it could have been so much better. Was still holding out hope that Bran would be revealed as the master manipulator. It would have made all of the strange behavior of the last episodes much more reasonable. Still, now it is finished. We'll see how GRRM's interpretation fares if he ever finishes his books.
all of Jons struggles throughout the show all led him to the fucking wall lmao
my only reaction to the finale is a big: what “why do you think I came all this way?” ????
I was really onboard with the first half of this episode, the fact that he just fucking stabbed her and she didn't even like get any last words was amazing. Then the episode fucking smash cut to utter nonsense. That fade to black in the middle might as well have been fade to credits.
half expecting someone to come on screen and say, "it truly was a game of thrones"
They literally didn't know what to do with Arya oh my god
There was so much dead air in that episode
i read the leaks beforehand and i was still floored with confusion when Grey Worm & The Unsullied Gang come to a compromise about Jon and would allegedly be mega-pissed if he was set free, then immediately decide to fuck off to Naath. Jon could've gone back to KL or wherever and they never would've known.
Yeah, now all of Bran's motivations are suspect. Namely, telling Sam to reveal Jon's heritage. A bit underwhelming overall, but not quite the disaster I feared it might be. Can't say I'm 100% satisfied, but I am glad it is over... Still, I wouldn't go so far as to say:
I found it extremely depressing, both in terms of quality drop and just the general end of the story. Jon was just fucking destroyed emotionally, queen slayer, oath breaker and kinslayer all in one. What the hell was the point in R + L = J? Why the hell is Sam a maester?
He was always happier up north.
Absolute fucking garbage. I don't even know how to verbalize my frustration right now.
yes, I know. my point is that entire plot point of Jon-Unsullied was a circle that didn't make any sense. has nothing to do with where Jon actually went.
