Oh yeah, what's the deal with that? It keeps happening in the show. The first time, I got up to check the connection to the TV because I thought maybe the display connector had gotten loose and was displaying colors all weird.

The colour palettes of the characters tend to be whatever the fuck Araki felt like on the day he was drawing them. The colours of the characters in chapter colours vary wildly, and this is reflected in the anime for style points.
Hell, the "official palettes" aren't even safe after being adapted, that's why Johnny's outfit is white/blue in All Star Battle and green in Eyes of Heaven.

As Araki drew the manga he changed his mind about designs so many times. He just wanted Iggy to be more easily characterised so he gave him a humanish face. Josuke starts part 4 as a meat block but ends it as a lithe pretty boy.
Fucking Anasui in part 6 was a woman in his first appearance, but Araki later decided that he preferred the character as a man.

I can't even tell if that's a strength or weakness of his. The inconsistency makes it harder to take it seriously but at the same time it's kinda neat how nonchalantly he decides to change things. I guess it just proves that he draws and writes purely for fun without giving a shit about what others think.

Though that doesn't fucking explain why Killer Queen looks like a weird goblin in his first anime appearance, and while they cleaned it up in the BD, they didn't change him back to how he's supposed to look... even though that is NOT HOW HE FUCKING LOOKED IN THE MANGA.

Looks like it'll actually follow the Part 8 style. I was expecting them to make it match the Part 4 anime.
I'm really excited to see how that style will look animated, let alone with OVA quality.

I was made to believe that Araki wanted the character to be female, but the Jump publishers thought that there were already too many female characters so he had to do something about that.

I remember in Part 7 [sp]when Hot Pants was introduced as a dude I was like "COME ON, that's clearly a lady, this has gone too far" but it turned out she was actually a chick all along[/sp]
Purple Haze Feedback was actually good. Some references to other parts felt shoehorned in, but I still liked them as they didn't contradict anything. Aside from that I felt like it had better characterisation than part 5 itself, and Fugo actually gets some resolution. Even though I'm not that huge a fan of Part 5, I'd definitely recommend reading it.
