as much as it hurts to say hopefully this ends the DiU circlejerk and convinces david production to start part 5
I'm still baffled as to why they bothered with a live action film, every time they make one based on an anime its bad and received poorly.

Chance for more money.

what does the Live Action film have anything to do with the anime?
You do know that david productions are only contracted by Shueisha to make the anime?
The ones that hold the license is Shueisha

This one was neither though apparently
Also have you seen the fucking Kenshin movies?

I doubt the movie is affecting a part 5 adaptation. They were probably busy with the OVA.
I just finished all of the Jojo animes, and I really enjoyed them! No wonder Hirohiko has managed to get this big of a following.
This is gonna be an unpopular opinion probably, but out of those 4 I enjoyed part 4 the most. The music, characters, setting and art style really drove it home for me. I liked that it had a much more down to earth tone than the other parts, it made it feel almost relatable in a way. But Part 2 comes at a very close second.

Wasn't the Part 4 anime the least liked out of the animes, too? I'm suprised they didn't do that for Part 3 instead because of how influential that part is at least within the series.
But of course I'm new to this whole ballpark and I'm just saying this all from hearsay

Part 4 is actually pretty high on most people's lists, alongside with Part 7.
I have only watched the anime, and in my book Diamond is Unbreakable is tied for #1 with Battle Tendency. Stardust Crusaders is my next favorite with Phantom Blood at the end. Not the bottom, 'cause they're all pretty great, but it's the least engaging to me and Jonathan is pretty plain.
I'd put Part 4 around the middle if I had to rank every Jojo part(I've read up to 7). The second half of DIU is some of the best of the entire series, in part due to how fantastic of a villain [sp]Kira[/sp] is, but the first half is pretty bad. The part is an absolute slog until [sp]RHCP[/sp] shows up, and you can tell Araki's not really sure where to take the plot considering that [sp]he tosses both Angelo and Keicho aside, and then does the same after a while with RHCP[/sp].

Pretty much every side villain in jojo exists to make an interesting and creative fight with the protagonist(s) or introduce a new character, [sp]angelo is used to introduce josuke and give him creative ways to use his powers, while keicho is used to introduce both okuyasu and RHCP. I don't disagree with the akira/RHCP part, but he does end up being used to introduce the stand arrows to the audience, so he's not completely pointless. Also we get to see okuyasu and koichi use their stands in creative ways cuz of him.[/sp]
i'm sure araki makes this shit up as he goes, but i think he at least knew from the start he wanted part 4 to be a [sp]murder mystery[/sp].

On artstyle, I think it's worth noting that the show's artstyle is basically its own thing, very different from the manga in every part so far. I think parts 1 and 4 had the most changes in the adaptation, mostly because Araki's art was kind of all over the place when they were in print. Part 1 had a lot of questionable anatomy and men built like dump trucks. Part 4 is kind of when Jojo went through artistic puberty and has the biggest overall change of any part. Josuke goes from giant beefcake to a slimmer, dopier look, and Koichi goes from a reasonably-sized human being to basically being a hobbit. Part 5 is when the artstyle started becoming a lot more consistent.
As for the movie, I'm pretty sure it was already in development either before or during the airing of the part 4 anime. Either way, it was probably just the director's decision to do part 4 because that's what he likes, not due to any outside influence of popularity or anything.
It's also like the only part where they could have a japanese cast
Stardust Crusaders dub has been pretty good so far. Only weak points for me so far are Matt Mercer's ORAs being kind of weak and Richard Epcar's Old Joseph sounding flat at times (still wish they kept the British accent).
I'm wondering how the rest of the minor villains are gonna sound :v:

I thought Patrick Seitz was doing Star Platinum (and his ORAs)?

I haven't watched the dub, but why would Joseph have a British accent? He's American.

He is British...

Born in London no less

my opinion is that, because he lives in New York, is the rowdiest Jojo, and is introduced as, "New York's Jojo," he ought to be considered with the potential of having an American accent

why the fuck do people think this
Someone even mentions his accent first thing when he's introduced
Yes this British person who've lived in England for most of his life as of Battle Tendency has an American accent

One of the first pages :v:
Accents can fade into one another over time depending on where you live & who you interact with for long enough. (They do not change via plane ride, however)
Besides, I didn't like most of the fake accents in the Parts 1 & 2 dubs. Also, as of SdC episode 4, we are now out of test-dub territory - so things could get better as the actors acclimate more
So wait, is the official english dub of Stardust Crusaders actually coming to life now? I thought they only dubbed the first three of episodes and then stopped.

I don't mind fake accents, but they went the wrong direction. Jojo demands over the top offensive hilarious fake accents, like klaus from american dad or Odessa Cubbage
caesar's english dub voice is amazing he even fucking says mama mia
Not saying I disliked all of 'em. Speedwagon, Dio, and Joseph were all good, just to name a few. It does help that their actors were sort of veterans in pulling off believable English accents despite being primarily American themselves.

I always thought Joseph was american when I watched Battle Tendency because of all those nods they made to american culture. Like the Coca-Cola and Tommy gun scenes. Also how he brags that food from america is actually better than in Japan in Stardust Crusaders.
Weird how our mind works sometimes.

Idk. Speedwagon should have been a super overt Oliver Twist Chimney Sweep sickeningly Cockney mother fucker.
