what feels like pretty much damn near every mangaka seemingly has read/takes inspiration from jojo, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was

Araki actually pioneered what we know as modern "manga" in the early 16th century while learning how best to depict dogs in pain from the masters of artistic expression of the time. Really interesting stuff.

It would be interesting though to see what they would've done with well done traditional animation.
It'd also be kind of interesting to see how it'd have changed the popularity of the series in the west.
If it'd had a well received adaptation that really took off I wonder if the anime at least would've been brought over here much earlier.
And that's another interesting hypothetical. What position would JoJo be in over here in the west had it been introduced as it originally released?

It actually hasn't. People who bought the BDs had to send it in like 2 months ago to be eligible to receive it but the actual physical copies have only been recently sent out to those who qualified for them.
I'm salty it's a DVD release and not BD.
Shame to know the quality will really suffer because the animation looks stellar.

I thought there was a bunch of buzz that it came out like july 28 or something? What was that about?
Why would they do a 480p DVD release of all things? Hopefully there'll be a BD not too far in the future
