there's very little fanart with original characters that gets stand designs right, they always lack that something that araki's designs have and usually just look too generic and "cool"

Though I do like how those have slight elephant (Republican) and donkey (Democratic) motifs to them. But yeah, just like with Pokemon, fan designs of stands very rarely capture Araki's style and will look "off" in some way.

Tbh the idea of a politician or group of politicians with stands who remain in power not because of popular vote but because the opponents always has mysterious "accidents" is pretty cool

I'm maybe midway through part 5, and I really wish there weren't so many chapters where characters encounter a new stand and immediately fight the person to the death. I really liked that part 4 had a small handful of stand users who never try to kill anyone. They just go about their everyday lives but happen to have special powers. But in part 3 and part 5 (and really MOST of part 4) pretty much every single stand has to be combat-oriented, even if it seems really counter-intuitive for them to be used in a fight.

However, Avdol's not a hard enough dude to flagrantly burn people to death, and Hol Horse is a coward and a dummy.
