More about name changes, I find it weird that Santana had to be changed to Santviento for whatever reason. I mean obviously he was named after the musician, but i'm sure Carlos Santana isn't the only Santana in the world. And it makes sense to give the character that name since they discovered him in Mexico.
Was this actually some kind of legal dispute, or was his name changed for some other reason?
Changing Vanilla Ice or Red Hot Chili Peppers I could maybe understand. Those are pretty distinct names

If they were too afraid to use the verb "Echoes" I could see them being cautious with proper names.

I mean, this is the same team who changed Polnareff to "Jean Eiffel", so I'm not surprised. Fun fact, the one name they didn't need to change? Robert E.O. Speedwagon, despite being a ripoff of REO Speedwagon, is totally acceptable due to the car of the same name. A win for Araki!

I thought Kakyoin and Kira were their first name for quite a long time
It gets even harder when localizers decide to swap the places of their first and last names, since surnames come first in japan.
At least I think they do. I see this shit get mixed up so often that i'm not even sure of that much.
Drives me nuts when subtitlers do it, and you can clearly hear characters speaking the names in reverse order
Sometimes they even change it within the same translation. I swear the scanlation I read used both "Josuke Higashikata" and "Higashikata Josuke" as well as "Kishibe Rohan" and "Rohan Kishibe" interchangably. If his father hadn't been introduced I don't think I would have ever figured out if "Kira" was his first or last name.
one of the things I'm happy about the next episode is that Rohan's finally gonna wear the first midriff outfit. Even though he only wears it, like, once, it's used as the 'default' outfit in the games, so every time I see him without his midriff showing, it just feels wrong

Man, I had the strangest dream involving stands.
I had a stand, and its powers were luck and being able to easily rally random people against others. Also for some reason I was good at impressions and ventriloquism.
I was going up against the former chairman(Let's call him John) and the current chairman(Luke) of the United States Congress. (Who were different from their real life counterpart) They established an internment camp and used it to create an army of stand users.
Without knowing that the John was in cahoots with Luke, I went to the former chairman and told him the situation. He took me to a private area, pulled out a pistol from his jacket, and tried to shoot me.
It jammed, so he threw it at me, and I caught the pistol.
So John pulled out another pistol and tried to shoot me. But due to luck he kept hitting the pistol that I was holding and the bullets were deflected.
John threw that pistol away and pulled out an Uzi. It jammed as well, so he threw it at me.
Then he pulled out a shotgun. This was when I realized John's stand allowed him to pull weapons from his jacket. I wrestled the shotgun from him and shot him. This was when I realized that any weapon John summons has no effect on him.
"You know, I'd be more impressed if you pulled a rocket launcher from your-"
He pulls out two rocket launchers.
"Oh."
Both missed.
So John pulls out a flamethrower. I was able to defeat him by sneaking behind him and putting a pencil through the temple of his head.
So now I was up against the current Chairman Luke. I don't know how his stand works, but all I know is that it allows the chairman to be immortal. No matter how much damage I tried to do to him, he'd brush it off. I think it may have involved some red bucket that was nearby, but I don't know.
I only made him run away by using my impressions and ventriloquism to trick Luke into thinking that Dio was nearby, because for some reason he was scared of Dio.
