[sp]Didn't Rohan make it so he'd magically win 'janken' because he wrote it on the invisi-baby's face, though? Cause that's pretty clear evidence Heaven's Door can pull a lot of bullshit.[/sp]

[sp]No he made the baby close the kids fist.[/sp]
I remember when people were waiting for a Part 4 hint at the end of SDC.
Don't get your hopes up.
Yeah, but they've already teased it in the intro.

Really? where in the intro did they tease?

The roadsign says GW 2001, which stands for Golden Wind (Vento Aureo), which released in 2001. It could just mean that Vento Aureo comes after Diamond is Unbreakable, but since it's explicitly put in the OP like that it could very well be a little tease for them adapting Part 5.

It's set in 2001, not released in 2001.
Vento Aureo was being published between 1995 and 1999.

Oh wait yeah, I'm stupid, sorry.
is it? what i've heard of it is that it's the usual dub quality of just being mediocre
Mediocre is ok for the run of the mill shit they ran on Toonami in the early-mid 2000s, but not for fucking Jojo.
A proper jojo dub should have you questioning if it was ever meant for a different language.

The part that pisses me off about it is how lazily it's done. It really feels like they just directly translated the lines and went with it. It means that dialogue timing is so fucking off that it just becomes a mess. A dub should never do that, it should re-form the dialogue ever so slightly to actually sound more natural in the English language, and fit within the time-frame of the character's dialogue reasonably.
Any mood is immediately ripped out of the show when you have characters spouting out paragraphs of long words in fake English accents as fast as humanly possible.
Every dub team needs to take a lesson from the newest Akira dub. Even with mouths synced to Japanese dialogue, that shit felt so natural and smooth.
Is it bad I preferred melon haired Kira from the colored manga over his white haired appearance in the anime?
It might just be that I'm accustomed to that as I saw that coloration first and the fact I really like the color green.
Thinking about reading Part 5 as soon as the P4 anime ends on Friday, and then going back to read the Parts 1-4 Manga once I'm caught up with the series.
I just really want to get all caught up, especially since I still have 1-4 so fresh in my mind, and reading them wouldn't be as fun.

Happy Birthday Daisuke Ono! :toot:
Big fan of your work.

Thanks for the support!
Speaking of last episode
[sp] I love how the glass shooting became a vital element to beat Kira. It's so awesome that a thing Jotaro teached him in a past episode was put to good use later. [/sp]

i think the idea with the anime coloration was to push for the "matured kira is his 'perfect' form" aspect in a sense
white is often used as the color of purity, so a white suit and mostly white hair is pushing the idea that this is kira at his ultimate, 'purest' form
I think it worked better with Kira's new suit color palette
Watermelon green works with his purple and green suit, and the white hair goes better with his white suit
That might just be me, but yeah

I saw a comment somewhere that said [sp] pretty much all of the techniques Josuke used to fight Kira up to this point he had used in previous fights or situations in previous episodes, which I thought was pretty cool and I didn't even really think about it until someone said it. [/sp]
pretty cool stuff.

isn't the good part 5 translation not complete yet though? I stopped reading part 5 halfway through because of that

the JJCA translation is on volume 13 right now iirc, so most of the way through but not quite there
I have a good translation for all volumes which I read recently. I am afraid of posting the link, so if anyone wants the volumes pm me.

Why? If you're afraid of warez or something like that then I doubt you'd get a ban.
We have links to each part on bato.to in the OP after all.

Yeah, but these are from a downloading site and I don't want to risk it, besides, writing a PM isn't that hard.

as we've discussed before in this thread, that's most likely the JJCA translation until it reaches the point they haven't translated yet, then switching over to the old translation

I don't know, but all of the 17 volumes seem well translated and clear, hell, I could even understood how king crimson works.
I don't know, but all of the 17 volumes seem well translated and clear, hell, I could even understood how king crimson works.
the whole "how does king crimson work" shtick doesn't come from the power in general, it's fairly easy to understand, the problem comes when you start talking about the details, which seem to contradict themselves
the previous part 5 translation isn't nearly as bad as the duwang translation, so its poorness isn't immediately evident
it's not that noticable, it's not hilariously bad like the infamous Duwang translation for DiU
i read the whole thing with the bad translation just fine, but the characters really do lose a lot of their unique personality when they all speak the same "normal" way, plus it can be somewhat confusing when some characters say things that dont really make much sense
[t]http://i.imgur.com/INttsmL.png[/t]
also note how the old translation awkwardly cuts the first sentence in half between "outside" and "world" while the JJCA translation cuts it at a more natural point
It seems to me that I have a different one but that is still of quality, and the quality keeps up with the later volumes.

that's definitely the JJCA translation tho with worse image quality
so the translation does change to the old one at some point and you just didn't notice, JJCA's translation is still ongoing and not complete

Look at the image carefully, it is definetely not the same translation.
Look at the image carefully, it is definetely not the same translation.
the translation is the exact same, it's the one by the group called "Jojo Project"
Jojo Project died out before finishing the translation for part 5, JJCA used that translation up until that point, and started their own translation afterwards
that page is from the Jojo Project scanlation, the one in the picture i posted is the cleaned up version that JJCA made
you should post a page from one of the very late chapters, such as the [sp]Silver Chariot Requiem[/sp] chapters, which none of the good translations have gotten up to
