I almost choked to death reading the line "APPP's animators were just better" fucking APPP shit all looks like absolute garbage to me, do I just live in an alternate universe from everyone else? Sure there are points where the ovas had good animation, I'm not denying that, but they're few and far between. and my images are not cherrypicking, there are more moments of the ova looking weird or bad than there are it looking good, when watching it I had to hold off on taking screencaps because if I capped everything I saw I'd never finish the damn thing.

They're all stills, therefore, not animation dude. Please don't tell me I have to spell out that distinction and why it's extremely important.

It uses perspective well and the volumes of iggy's body are acknowledged. He's consistent looking. This is what an actual bad drawing looks like. Not just one you don't like. Where the OVA has a few, David's adaptation is probably made up of 50% this. Where it succeeds is accuracy. aaand fuckin sound design

I like both the OVA and the anime for different reasons and think both have their strong suits. I ultimately prefer the anime, but I can still watch the OVA and have a good time.
