I don't know what to expect since the last Japanese live-action manga adaptation I've seen was Ichi the Killer, and that got weird.

Something tells me the movie can't get [I]too[/I] bad, since Araki has liked to have his hand in every single adaptation, merch, game, etc. since the Phantom Blood movie debacle.

They're a just a manifestation of that person's lifeforce. They probably share the same height and what-not but as for the look the same I'm gonna say no. What I DO hope, but it won't happen, is that the DORAs and ORAs etc are taken from the anime or something. Dunno.

Dunno.[/QUOTE] that wouldn't make any sense, the ORAs and DORAs in the anime are done by the anime voice actors, so keeping those for just the stands in the live-action movie instead of re-recording them with the new actors would be awkward

The movie is looking good, sure they have taken a few liberties with the design of the characters, but i think it's good as long as they don't modify the actual plot and change important stuff in the part. I'm still worried about stands, i really hope they find a way to make them not look silly with CGi.

Well i think it's no big worry if they change the first half of the story a bit and keep it faithful after Kira arrives, especially if they manage to make the slice of life encounters flow better

I want David Productions to do a new adaptation of Hokuto no Ken. If they can pull of Jojo then can do that.

This isn't going to be a 1:1 translation of the source material. We should all know that. The entire movie is the aqua necklace fight, but it's got the whole cast in it already. Personally I think they strick a good balance between grounded and accurate. I do think his jacket could seriously use that white inner layer to break up all that purple .

I won't say it was godly CGI but it was passable. Ichi the last live action adaption of manga? come on it came out in 2001

Honestly I think the live action actors look pretty good. Similar enough to their characters at least. The only thing that really bugs me is Koichi's hair color. I can let the height slide but the hair color is such a simple detail and it's literally just dying the dude's hair, so why didn't they do it?

Koichi is often depicted with dark blue/black hair often anyways.

This kinda got me hoping the color palette will change like that in the film. Doubt it though.
