One of my favorite things about Part 7 is how [sp]it's up to the viewer whether or not Valentine is really the bad guy. Same applies to Diego Brando. [/sp]

Well, just watched the final episode of Stardust Crusaders. Holy shit the feels were overwhelming what with [sp]half the team dying[/sp]. This show really toyed with my expectations, I'm real curious to see if Season 3 can top Season 2.

that's a part of what makes the end result sort of sad, if you remember the Stray Cat episode, [sp]kira actually worried for shinobu's well-being, though he tried to reason it away as not wanting to be suspicious he did still have a human side to him that having a family dug out[/sp]

Casting doesn't really work when you go for looks, you need to be choosing the best person for the role. Always get a little pissed off when people don't like a casting choice based on looks, like the Koichi one. If i sound bitter its because i am. "Well, you had the best performance no doubt, but your features are a little too soft, you don't look as imposing as that taller guy so we're going with him" Fucking casting directors.

i hope kira shows up in the background as just an extra in random shots like he does in the anime would be a neat little touch

I would say that AT LEAST half the people seeing a movie adaptation of something else only care about how accurate it is to the source material, and they'll judge the whole quality of the product based on that. Like it or not, they'd be missing out on ticket sales if the guy playing Kira looks nothing like him, or hell, even if they fucked up his costume too bad. So they do need to pander to that audience. Even still, I think looks matter in movies, especially adaptations. Like when M Night Shyamalan made all kinds of weird casting decisions in The Last Airbender that were neither consistent to the source material, nor consistent within the movie itself. Or if you're casting a big dumb action movie, you get a huge beefcake like Vin Diesel or The Rock. Maybe Ian McKellen could give the performance of a lifetime as Cliff McPunchstrong, but the look of a character does matter, so they wouldn't cast him.

If the hat was bigger, the hair would be completely covered and you wouldn't get the hair-fusing effect that Jotaro has. Of course, the other option was to sew a wig, but it would probably look worse.

Of course, the other option was to sew a wig, but it would probably look worse.[/QUOTE] His hat design was done to make the character look more elegant(Araki said this) and the bump completely ruins that because it just looks fucking dumb now because you've got a big old bump on the side of your head with your tiny hat on top instead of the hair taking the shape of the hat at the back. Just because the hat is bigger doesn't mean it's going to cover up the hair. The hat itself is just a torn hat which is drawn in a way to look like the hair and hat are fused together. The effect done by both methods I've given wouldn't effect a thing when done by professional costume artists
