Badass. Watch as Craig Charles ends up being a contestant and brings out something ridiculous. (a man can dream).
They should kinda do that more often, like scrapheap challenge sort of on the spot building for just that season. It would be a good spin off season in between the real events.
What I find interesting is that only one team of celebrities has been announced, yet the first filming block starts in a couple of hours.

Robot Wars 2017 - I identify as a Bar Spinner.
Bar Spinnners are pretty fun to watch for now, certainly better than flippers.
my friends were discussing robot wars in a recent road trip, looking forward to more ridiculous designs.

The website hasn't updated, so we don't have a full competitor list, but the first episode will feature Nuts 2, Jellyfish, Rapid, TMHWK, Sabretooth, Terrorhurtz, Aftershock, and Crank-E.

Looking at the line ups for the first two episodes it seems that they are at least mixing things up a little with the types of bot in each heat:
Episode One being: Aftershock, Crank-E, Jellyfish, Nuts 2, Rapid, Sabretooth, Terrorhurtz, TMHWK
Episode Two being: Behemoth, Cherub, Cobra, Lord Draven, Eruption, Hobgoblin, PP3D, Push To Exit
Kind of interested to see if Terrorhurtz and TMHWK get a chance to fight one and other, just two robots belting each other with axes for two minuets, that would be fun!
Oh and Jellyfish looks so crap, seriously, it looks like one of the builders kids went mad with their sticker album. But hell, I never thought Nuts would make it out of the first round so shows what I know about these things.

i'm so happy this is coming back
I heard a rumor that when the team behind Rapid entered the competition they did not send a picture of their final bot (apparently they believed that had they sent an image of a flip-bot they would not have gotten on), instead they sent an image of the internals. The people behind the show where so impressed with the technical prowess of the machine that they put them on the show.
So, maybe one to look out for tomorrow.

Also regarding the episode nothing gets my dick more rock hard then a destructive vertical spinner or drum.

i have to say i'm missing the original series' intro music already though
Most expensive robot ever got it's arse smacked.
Not sure how i feel about aftershock yet, i mean i love destruction n all that, but nothing stood a chance up against it to the point i felt every single fight was a formality. I dunno maybe they'll get tougher opponents in the finale but the first episode had a distinct lack of competition to it.
