Robot Wars 2016 - Rebuilt, Rearmed and Reactivated (Now 200% more Irish!) - Film, Television and Music

Well, tonight is the night so, for all three of us who follow the thread lets see who is going in and how wrong my predictions will be. So tonight our fighters are: Behemoth - Scoop Fliper Carbide - Spinner Rapid - Flipper Nuts II - Spinner/thwack bot and mini bot Magnatar - drum spinner And the wild card!! Seeing as there is ten going into the wildcard rumble I will not go through all of them but surfice it to say I only really rate Erruption, Apollo or Concussion going through. Track-tion is too slow and it's weapon has never really worked, Iron Awe's probably wont work, Expulsion will drive around not doing much of anything, Big Nipper is going for its grabber flipper so I doubt will do much damage or knock the other out. The remaining bots all have a good chance but we shall soon see! Regardless of who goes through I doubt the wild card will win over all, it will be worn down from the rumble and it will be against tough opposition. Of those who are already through I think it will be between Carbide and Magnatar to win out. Unless they both face each other early doors and either KO the other or get damaged in a way that effects their reliablity going forwards. Still, it will be a big one either way!

That was a fantasic final- every match was great! [sp]A little disappointed Nuts didn't win, but the joke robot making it to SEMIS is still great. Props to Eruption, Angela's reactions really sold the fight.[/sp]

Honestly so glad this show is back and doing well. This series has been the best I think ever? Fog of war is a stupid gimmick but that final was immense. Angela is a brilliant host too.

What an amazing episode to cap off an amazing season. [sp]My sides couldn't contain themselves when Nuts 2 fucking won the 3 way against Carbide. The joke robot that got massacred in the first episode of the reboot by the to-be champion was now able to return fire and disable the scariest weapon in the sport without very much of a design overhaul. What an absolutely spectacular final match too.[/sp]

While most entrants are first timers, one of the most legendary American spinners (and my all time favorite full-body spinner) [sp]Megabyte[/sp] makes an appearance. There's also a brand new crusher called [sp]Spectre[/sp] which seems to be a true modern successor to Razer, being a fast and stylish crusher. The editing style is a bit all over the place and I can't understand a word of Mandarin, but it's some solid robot combat.

I think there should have just have a Robot Combat general thread. That way at least we can have up to date information and stuff

Give something relatively big to talk about instead of just having it go dead the second it's born.

Bad news guys... Robot Wars isn't getting renewed by the BBC.

It took them a while to renew battlebots, though that was canned. Wondering what took it so long? Looks like we're back at square one again. Although, i did always feel like something was missing from Dara Robot Wars.

Oh boy, I for one cannot wait for whatever documentary on Caravans, Jam or the history of the Indian Railways they will have on instead! Or goodness, maybe it will be more Top Gear with Matt the Blank.

It's going to be replaced by a weekly tennis show. Not fucking kidding.
