DC Television Megathread - The House That The Arrow Built

But there's 'My name is Barry Allen' already. The real reason which I suspect is because they are either finishing editing the episode or The CW really wants to build up the hype to get more views.
yeah takes some getting used to to not be hearing "my name is oliver queen" every ~45 minutes during your bingeathon
"My name is Oliver Queen."
"Whose name is Oliver?"
"My name is."
"That's a royal name."
"Queen. My name."
"Yes I am, it am silly."
'Is'.

doesn't matter how much time in between eps there are
the next ep to air is always finished and ready to air by the time the one before it airs
Tonight's arrow ep
[sp]Atom/Iron-Man was fucking awesome[/sp]
honestly i was not super happy with how quickly [sp]felicity and ray[/sp] escalated (arrow:3x15)
oh great fuck you CW then. Arrow ep15 is up but The Flash is delayed for thee weeks. yay

Don't worry, Arrow is now on a 2 week break.
Also, new show with the strangest line-up yet?
Atom, Captain Cold, one half of Firestorm and a dead Canary.

3x15, you know the drill, spoilers abound

Newest episode was kinda meh imo. A little too much melodrama, even for Arrow standards. [sp]Nyssa potentially becoming Laurel's trainer, the Atom reveal, and Oliver being offered the role of the Demon's Head kind of made up for it.[/sp] These all were fairly predictable though.
that last line, what
that last line, what
I wasn't surprised by it at all. Hell, they did it in Batman, and Arrow is pretty much Green Arrow "Batman-itized".
On the subject, Part of me has always wondered why someone dosen't go on ahead and make a new serious live-action batman series. There have been spin-offs like "Gotham" and even "Birds of Prey", but not since the Adam West days has there been a batman TV series. My theory has always been that "Nobody wants to be the guy who screwed up Batman", because he's just so popular to the point that people would be rioting if they got one tiny thing wrong. In the meantime the CW is making these DC Universe shows and making other superheroes more batman-esque to compensate for the fact that they're dancing around it.
That being said, when that last line came up, my reaction more or less was "Okay, so they're doing this thing then" rather then "gasp such a twist".

Thank God The Flash is similar to Barry Allen in comics and not Batman-ised to the point of everyone being all ultra-mega-serious and having depression and all that written all over their faces. During the crossover episode from Arrow's point, I just couldn't help but see the gigantic contrast between The Arrow characters and The Flash. That's funny, because Green Arrow is supposed to be similar to The Flash, but instead they Batman-ised him. Though I read somewhere that they might change it sooner or later.

probably because right now a lot of people (sadly) have grown up to the darker and un-supernatural Nolan batman(don't get me wrong I like him), and any attempt to try to be batman for a while is just going to be people comparing him to christian bale
Guys, is it bad if I dislike Felicity so far? Bad case of hollywood nerd and 'funny' awkwardness.
I find a lot of female characters in team arrow to be meh, with (SEASON 2 SPOILERS BEWARE) [sp]Sara[/sp] being one of the few exceptions
Now I've watched all the episodes, I join the pain train of waiting two weeks for next episode.
I'm close to finishing season one, then I've got season 2. By the time I'm finished with those, I can probably get to season 3. After that, time to get started with The Flash, along with keeping up on Game of Thrones.

Nah, I never liked her from the get-go either.
So, season 1 finished. And as much as I like[sp]Malcolm's move with The Undertaking,[/sp]I really have to get angry at[sp]Laurel. Several times, she's warned not to go to work and stay out of the Glades. Even when everything's collapsing around her, she's still occupied with getting files. Congrats, not only did you almost get yourself killed, you indirectly got Tommy killed, thanks a bunch.[/sp]
Laurel will get more and more annoying, I'd say
[editline]1st March 2015[/editline]
S2 as whole will get more interesting because of the main villain of the season and the events that are going to happen. I liked it way more than S1 and I felt that S1 had too much romance stuff going on, though S2-3 still have a bunch of them, but not as much as S1.
[editline]1st March 2015[/editline]
oh yea there will also be Barry Allen introduction, from which The Flash kicked-off as separate TV show, and you can feel the difference in characters when you see him first time.
Someone took pictures on set of The Flash: Episode 15 and released them on Instagram. (obviously don't click if you haven't seen EP14). Some quite interesting stuff going on in the episode, building even more hype for me. 17th can't come any sooner goddamnit! Also a dance on the set(also spoilery).
Finally caught up on both shows.
[sp]I'm super glad that the Ra's al Ghul's immortality, the speed force, and Firestorm aren't too weird for this universe.[/sp]
Update on the mystery show.
Caity Lotz confirms she's definitely involved some how and they are currently casting the following characters who are rumoured to be Rip Hunter, Hawkgirl and Static.
“THE TRAVELER” | Described as a “Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.”
“FEMALE WARRIOR” | This twentysomething Latina is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior — so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others.”
“MYSTERY HERO” | An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.”
Sounds like to me that Rip goes through time and creates a team of heroes which would explain [sp]Sara being alive[/sp]

Spoilers: [sp]Looks like a definite Harrison Wells to me. I thought it could be an older Eddie or someone completely different whatsoever, but this definately looks like Wells.[/sp]
Didn't they basically confirm it in the show?
Didn't they basically confirm it in the show?
Ep 9 ending, episode with Pied Piper and ending of Ep 14(?) called Fallout.
[sp]Wait, but if Wells went back and time to create the Flash, how was the flash created in the first place?
I think Barry will fail to save his mother[/sp]
