Flash spoilers and Arrow spoilers too, I guess [sp]Guys, when you stop this clip from last episode at 0:44 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAtQC7VG0zM you can see that they name dropped not only Atom and Green Arrow (instead of just Arrow) but also Hawkgirl. Plus Joe was promoted to Police Chief[/sp]
I'm pretty sure I saw [sp] Hawkgirl mentioned as being cast somewhere[/sp].
RocketRacer, comic spoilers about Eobard's origin: [sp]Eobard is a descendant of Malcolm Thawne. Malcolm Thawne is Barry's twin brother (iknorite!). Charlene Thawne was giving birth and the baby strangled on its own umbilical cord. The doctor was too drunk to save the baby so to cover up for his mistake he swapped the strangled baby with Nora Allen's newborn, and told Nora that "malcolm" was dead and that he was a stillborn. Giving Malcolm to the Thawnes. Malcolm Thawne eventually learns this, after being raised as a con man, and kills the aforementioned doctor. Malcolm thus grows to hate Barry Allen with an intense passion, claiming Barry stole the life he should have had. Therefore becoming a villain 'Cobalt Blue'.
Eobard Thawne started out as a MEGA FAN of Barry Allen (in the 25TH CENTURY), and idolized him in every possible way (he surgically made himself look like Barry). Eobard replicated the events that gave Barry his powers, to give himself superspeed. Thawne travels back in time using the treadmill to find that Barry is already dead. He comes across the 'Flash Museum' and sees that he is destined to become the Reverse Flash and die at the hands of his hero. Thawne therefore creates a suit, inverts all the colours, enhances his speed by Tachyons and goes back to fight The Flash. Barry then travels to the future and defeats Thawne by pushing him so fast he pretty much sets him on fire. (Thawne was convinced that his protection would hold up. He was extremely arrogant, and this was his downfall). Thawne is defeated and Barry destroys the Reverse Flash costume.
Thawne is even more hatred-driven and goes back in time again, to before Barry Allen was The Flash. And so we have the series airing today.[/sp]
I won't post the actual series spoilers unless you want me to. But yeah, I have so many Flash comics, sorry for the wall of text :v: I hope you enjoyed learning/reading about it though, it's interesting as fuck. The Flash > Every superhero ever (except maybe Batman but I won't go into that).
[sp]From what I've read on wiki about Eobard is that he found Flash'es costume and wanted to get his powers, so he did some machinations and in the result the suit colours were inverted and he created anti-SpeedForce. Maybe a different story? Regardless, interesting to see what will happen next.[/sp]

[sp]She was cast for this time travel related Flash/Arrow spinoff, I think[/sp]

[sp]Anti-speedforce? I'm not sure what that means. The only thing I can think of this meaning is something that repels/inhibits the Speed Force? Like the gun Batman creates. Eobard can't create anti-speedforce, though, he is a speedster, relying on the speedforce for everything he is. The speedforce is like the Force from Star Wars. It's responsible for everything that has a speed in the universe. It's what Barry Allen absorbs into when he dies in the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
It's also documented that the Reverse Flash suit is made from a more leather/rubbery material as he couldn't have found the Flashs costume, he was still wearing it in the Speedforce (it's, according to Barry, too hot there to survive without it: See "The Flash Vol 3. The Dastardly Death of the Rogues #1", where Barry Allen comes back to "life" to help Wally West, and defeat the Rogues (Cpn Cold etc).[/sp]

[sp]Eobard started generating anti-speedforce like Barry does with normal one since Flash:Rebirth, it's basically poison for normal speedforce and speedsters using it[/sp]

oh yeah, that's right. That's where I have seen it and was surprised.

I haven't read any Flash-related comics asides from New 52 and Blackest Night/Brightest Day(which is not completely focused on Flash) and watched animated adaptation of Flashpoint(Paradox) so all I know is that what's written in wiki about the characters. v:v:v

The more energy of the speedforce you use, the more it drains. I remember there was one series where Barry Allen was the speedforce or something silly like that. So you're referring to the fact that Eobard, in recreating the lightning event, created his own anti speedforce? Fair enough in that case

Well, it's canon since Flash: Rebirth that Barry is the creator of Speed Force and it's heavily implied that it's the same in the show. And yeah, Eobard recreated the accident that gave Barry his powers in Rebirth and since then has access to and produces Negative Speed Force, it also gives him some nifty abilities like forcing the inertia to affect bodies of speedsters.

Also that Barry was the lightning bolt that struck him :v:
This is all just awesome.

It's comic books, where one of explanations for why humans hate mutants in Marvel much more than other metahumans was "sentient space bacteria".
I'm not making this up.
I love how both Marvel and the CW tv shows don't try to tone it down unless it's something really ridiculous like Gorilla City.

it also still says [sp]Starling City[/sp]
[editline]29th April 2015[/editline]
Tho, isn't this News Paper from the 2024 that Wells/Eobard came from? So nothing here is still accurate after hes changed the timeline.
[editline]29th April 2015[/editline]
Wait, is that scene an alternate take? [sp]I don't recall Cisco commenting on the colour of his suit last night.[/sp]

Nope, it's the take used in last episode and the newspaper is still accurate because, as shown in one episode, it can change depending on the events [sp]like when Barry lost his powers and Eobard lost his shit because of it[/sp]
Wait, is that scene an alternate take? [sp]I don't recall Cisco commenting on the colour of his suit last night.[/sp]
What do you mean? I've seen it in both episode clip trailer and episode itself.
realtalk: speedforce is the stupidest named thing ever
What do you mean? I've seen it in both episode clip trailer and episode itself.
I'm having a memory lapse then. I remember the BTTF reference, but not the comment on the uniform.
[editline]29th April 2015[/editline]
Wow, I'm so very very late on this, I just found out Barry's father is played by the actor who played the Flash in the 90's flash live action series.
[editline]29th April 2015[/editline]
Apparently the Wayne/Queen merger text, at least when first seen in the pilot episode is an article from io9

[editline]29th April 2015[/editline]
Also the main article is completely different. The one in the pilot is just the same block of text repeated.

Oh shit, The Flash is off the hook.
I hope Arrow bumps it up a few notches, its getting stale in comparison, imo.
well the Arrow definitely took one heck of a turn. [sp]Oliver is 100% brainwashed now.[/sp]
Oh thats gonna be awkward to watch... Episode is out then?
Oh thats gonna be awkward to watch... Episode is out then?

Aired yesterday.
Probably gonna take 2 nights minimum to get her then... Hopefully comes this night. Thanks.

nyssa al cute x laurel otp
I have to say, watching The Flash and Arrow back-to-back is a weird experience, there is such a disparity in writing quality it's insane.
So I have a question. Where is the Flash timeline in regards to the Arrow timeline? I don't watch episodes as they come out, I watch them on a binge every few weeks. Because there was another episode with Felicity, and Ray Palmer was there too. [sp]They go on for 5 minutes for how much in love they are, and how great the sex is, but a big plot point in Arrow is Palmer's unrequited love for Felicity. So are they dating or not, what's the story?[/sp] And then with Cpt. Lance, Laurel, and Joe. [sp]Lance and Laurel are carrying on like everything is fine, but Lance is like "Oh yeah I'm not supposed to like her really," as a reminder that he's pissed for Laurel lying about Sarah. It just felt really awkwardly shoehorned in.[/sp]
The show was just riddled with inconsistencies like that. It's almost as if the writers for each show read a one-paragraph plot summary of the other show without watching it and have no idea what they're doing.

They're supposed to take place roughly simultaneously. If you're gonna binge watch the episodes, you should at least try and watch 'em flash/arrow/flash/arrow/etc, since that's how they've been coming out. Then, all the inconsistencies you come across by watching all the flash episodes then the arrow episodes disappear.
To be fair, though, [sp]the whole thing with Laurel and Lance may just be them trying to get past it. Lance only brings up his anger after Laurel's left.[/sp]
Oh boy the stakes are high.
[sp]I knew that vial was something familiar... And I LOOOVE Ra's idea :D I AM BRIDE TO THE DEMON GRR[/sp]
but most importantly... is dipping fries into milkshakes a thing? oh god
but most importantly... is dipping fries into milkshakes a thing? oh god
You have no idea what you're missing.
Of course. Think about it, salt is a flavor enhancer. The saltiness of the french fry makes the sweetness of the milkshake that much better. It's why salted caramel, for instance, is so good, and why salt is in basically everything.
my fave part is when laurel drops the fry while being all emotional
I thought I was the only one chuckling at that drop.
"I AM HEIR TO THE DEMON, I DONT NEED TO OPEN UP MY ARMS GRR"
and wow really? Didnt know about the milkshake on fry, we only just got milkshakes here at mcD and I dont think that many people get them anyway
The Flash Ep21 extended trailer was released and [sp]Eobard needs to fix his eyes[/sp] http://puu.sh/hxJ7r/8a3c67ffc7.jpg (spoilers)
