Multiverse theory stuff, in DC there are 52 Universes(and now several Multiverses according to Multiversity/Convergance) with the most prevalent being Earth 0 and Earth 2.
Earth 2 usually consists the golden age DC heroes like the original Flash, Green lantern and all of the pre-CoIE continuity. After multiple crisis events stuff came back together then broke apart and this is the current state of the multiverse is DC comic canon, which the show seems to be following with Jay Garrick being from E2

Okay so to set things straight with the Flash and the upcoming season

I think I'm having a nerdgasm at the thought of this and I don't even know the entirety of it.

There is Professor Zoom(Eobard Thawne) and Zoom(Hunter Zolomon). Prof Zoom is the one that has powers nearly identical to Flash with having the 'Negative Speed Force' I think it was, and Zoom is the one that can slow down time for himself making it look like he's fast, iirc. Interesting that on the Wiki it says that Zoom has never appeared in comics since Flashpoint meaning he hasn't been around for a while.

Professor Zoom just got reintroduced in the latest Flash arc but there was another Reverse Flash in New52, Daniel West, who's powers were a bit more confusing and time based.
My current suspects for the shows new Zoom are either The Rival, who was Jay Garricks Reverse Flash or [sp]Eddie who's gone full Hunter Zoloman mixed with Cobalt Blue due to them mentioning cobalt blue in the time machine plus the blue lightning[/sp]
I'm really happy to see that Tom Cavanagh is back, he's an amazing actor and I loved him on the show.
