I hope they fire that one motherfucker who keeps writing the relationship drama scenes, I don't need any of that shit in Legends of Tomorrow.
I think we should look into renaming this thread the DC TV thread. How do we get a mod to do it?
I think we should look into renaming this thread the DC TV thread. How do we get a mod to do it?
We...ask a mod?
We...ask a mod?
This person has the right idea
Done.
Which is a shame because Supergirl is currently the best DC TV show.
good thing nobody actually thinks this.
good thing nobody actually thinks this.
i mean, you shouldn't need other people's opinion to validate yours? otherwise how do we explain rusty
i mean, you shouldn't need other people's opinion to validate yours? otherwise how do we explain rusty
well no, it's just that supergirl is an absolutely awful show and unless you're an SJW or troll, you wouldn't actually like it, apart from the lead girl being pretty sexy and that's where it stops. i lasted about 10 minutes watching the pilot to know what a shit show it would be. i lasted longer watching the pilot for gotham. furthermore, i hate this notion of fucking around with jimmy olsen's character, MOS made him a girl, and supergirl has now made him black, so that they can both check off their list of non-racist characters. it's fucking stupid. it worked with using laurence fishburne in MOS because he's a great actor and fit the role of perry white very well, but neither the dude in the show or the girl in the movie made me give a shit about someone who's supposed to be superman's #1 fan/photographer/etc.
By saying 'Supergirl is currently the best DC TV show'? The Flash is going through a sophomore slump with an atrocious Barry/Patty storyline, a main character that's just bleh, the fact that most of the first batch of episodes were used to introduce stuff for the spinoff, new characters not being given anything fun and interesting to do and Caitlyn/Garrick suffering from 'I'm just standing here' syndrome. The only fun part of the past few episodes has been Cisco and Wells, really- just consider how little attention the cool Earth-2 subplot has been getting. Supergirl consistently delivers a fun story every week with a great cast, good wirework, great special effects (as great as a TV budget can allow), the overarching plotlines are fun and whenever there's ~relationship drama~ it's mostly relegated to one part of the cast, unlike in these shows where it seems everyone has a relationship and it sucks. This week they're doing Bizarro, next week they're doing 'For the Man Who Has Everything', it's a show that delves into the crazier sides of the Superman canon but it never feels like they're doing it 'just because it's a fan thing'. I get it a lot of people here were immediately turned away because the pilot has a lot of stuff they might consider 'pandering to a female demographic', but it's amazing how much this show hits the same highs as the Flash. It's like watching a story that mixes Silver Age whimsy with modern sensibilities come to life.
Flash LITERALLY had King Shark. Mother Fucking King Shark... how could you possibly find that shit bland like the entire show can be dogshit and seeing KING SHARK in live action was the radest shit ever AND he has a whole episode for himself coming up. Flash is literally going full comicbook and its perfection [sp]Not actaully perfection but ya know pretty close[/sp]
All I know is that I'm very, very lenient about TV shows and pilots, especially when it comes to superheroes, but I couldn't make it past the pilot of Supergirl.
I've watched every episode of Supergirl so far, I keep coming back week to week.
well no, it's just that supergirl is an absolutely awful show and unless you're an SJW or troll, you wouldn't actually like it, apart from the lead girl being pretty sexy and that's where it stops. i lasted about 10 minutes watching the pilot to know what a shit show it would be. i lasted longer watching the pilot for gotham. furthermore, i hate this notion of fucking around with jimmy olsen's character, MOS made him a girl, and supergirl has now made him black, so that they can both check off their list of non-racist characters. it's fucking stupid. it worked with using laurence fishburne in MOS because he's a great actor and fit the role of perry white very well, but neither the dude in the show or the girl in the movie made me give a shit about someone who's supposed to be superman's #1 fan/photographer/etc.
"It's an absolutely awful show" "I only watched the first 10 minutes" :goodjob: Supergirl is a decent show, and it's been said before that the pilot is far from a benchmark for the entire thing. That goes for every show; you use the pilot to sell it, but that doesn't mean it's by any means the best episode. There's more to a show than the appearance of the characters and whether or not you like the actors. Just because you don't like the show based on watching part of the pilot, doesn't mean it's terrible. Give it a chance before you act like it's the worst DC show on air. :dog; [editline]1st February 2016[/editline] Also, does this thread now encompass Lucifer, as well? The comic was published by DC, I'm relatively sure.

I think I can count them all on one hand, Max Payne, Supergirl pilot, Gotham pilot, Great Gatsby, In the Name of the King. Those are all I can think of off the top of my head. Otherwise, I'm generally willing to give them chances. I just thought in those cases, it was so fucking awful that I didn't want to bear another minute of it.
I've watched every episode of Supergirl so far, I keep coming back week to week.
That's usually how television shows work.
words
All I can read here is "I only watched ten minutes of the pilot and can give you a reason as to why you would enjoy the rest of the TV show"... which, regardless of your opinion, cannot be a considered an accurate way to decide on the quality of anything.
Flash LITERALLY had King Shark. I'm not denying that it wasn't cool, I'm just saying that I find myself enjoying Supergirl over Flash these past few days, and one character appearing for two minutes is not gonna change that.
Also, does this thread now encompass Lucifer, as well? The comic was published by DC, I'm relatively sure.
Sure, but you're probably gonna be the only one watching. It's just another cop procedural. It reminds me of that Cop God gag from 30 Rock.
I like Gotham
fuck yeah Earth 2 finally
I like Gotham
"Ok guys, we are introducing in the show a character many of you will recognize from the comics, althought he/she will be a precursor of some kind to the canon character or something like that. See? The character is going to have a huge role in the whole series. No wait, we were joking: he/she's dead now"

Sorry for double post but I had to post this
It's official: Grant Gustin will appear as The Flash on the March 28 episode of "Supergirl," as announced Wednesday by CBS. Details on the episode -- including the plot, how exactly Barry Allen finds himself in "Supergirl" territory and the extent of his role in the episode -- have not yet been released. "We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making 'Supergirl' -- The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!," "The Flash" and "Supergirl" Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg said in a joint statement. "We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone's enthusiasm and support." Fans have speculated about the possibility of a "Flash"/"Supergirl" crossover since before "Supergirl" even debuted on CBS this past October -- starting with a Variety cover from May that featured both Gustin and "Supergirl" star Melissa Benoist posing in costume alongside Berlanti (who, along with Kreisberg, is an executive producer on both shows). Yet it remained unclear if a crossover was even possible, with numerous reports in December stating that legal reasons may prevent the two DC Comics heroes from meeting on screen. It's also not clear how, storyline-wise, a meeting is possible -- if "Supergirl" exists on the same Earth as "The Flash," "Arrow" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," it's conspicuous that none of those shows ever mentioned the existence of Superman. Yet with "The Flash" delving heavily into parallel Earths and alternate timelines in its second season, there seems to be plenty of potential explanations to bring the two shows together. Fucking finally.
Pretty cool that every DC show currently airing are now in the same universe.
No, they clearly aren't. Barry will probably travel to Supergirl's Earth like he's going to do in the next episode with Earth 2.
Pretty sure they confirmed before Supergirl aired that they are not in the same universe. I think it will be like Damjen said. [editline]3rd February 2016[/editline] Someone (on youtube of all places) Pointed out the Episode title is "Worlds Finest" Without an apostrophe, so plural worlds.

when did this [t]http://images-cdn.moviepilot.com/images/c_fill,h_768,w_1366/t_mp_quality/udcbei0ezne1orpejrld/do-you-think-zoom-is-the-black-flash-687029.jpg[/t] become hotter than this [t]http://i.imgur.com/R7TJHuw.jpg[/t]

Lucifer also doesn't take place in a vacuum, and secondly if you don't think Preacher is going to get the same sanitization, you should probably grab a box of tissues now.

The original comic had him owning a bar and then going in what was a very unique adventure. We went from that to 'IT'S ANOTHER COP DRAMA' because that's the safest bet, so yeah. Also, this is the FOX network. The same one that gave more than one season to Gotham and Sleepy Hollow but then shot Another Human in the back of the head. I don't think 'uniqueness' is what they were looking for. (Criticizing AoS is still the 'zeitgeist', by the way, even though you'd think we'd have left that two seasons behind.)
