[sp]I hope there's gonna be a rematch between King Steve and Billy-Boy next season. Steve had the skills and I bet he could've kicked some ass if there hadn't been that plate. Gotta win at least one fight against a human![/sp]
Is every season [sp]Going to end with Steve getting punched in the face for less and less of a reason?[/sp]
Is every season [sp]Going to end with Steve getting punched in the face for less and less of a reason?[/sp]
It's ok. [sp]all these beat downs are just training, come season 12 when Steve's face starts to look like bacon he'll be so strong he'll just fucking wrestle the monster and pin the motherfucker in 3 seconds flat[/sp]
[sp]I was gonna say blink dog but that's basically what the Demogorgons are already[/sp]
[sp]Phase Spiders would be fitting, a monster that can freely blink between the Upside Down and the Material would certainly be a step up.[/sp]
I stayed up until five in the morning to binge watch Stranger Things 2
It was completely worth it in my opinion.
I hope next season [sp]Steve gets to beat the shit out of Billy[/sp]
Eh I really don't see the story arc heading that way. I can see Billy being cocky but not doing much.
I hope they don't do a redemption arc for Billy.
I hope they don't do a redemption arc for Billy.
they're probably gonna. [sp]I mean they already gave his character a little context with the dad scenes.[/sp] but I also hope they don't do ~simply~ that.
they're probably gonna. [sp]I mean they already gave his character a little context with the dad scenes.[/sp] but I also hope they don't do ~simply~ that.
well in Beyond Stranger Things [sp]I got the impression that the dad scenes were there to simply humanize Billy, not to set up some sort of redemption arc. They talked a lot about wanting a human antagonist and how they wanted Billy to fill that role, so I dont think they'll have him pull a Steve[/sp]
Of course they also could have just said those things in Beyond Stranger Things to ruse the audience into think that so who the fuck knows, how many dimensions of chess are we playing fam I can't keep up
I want [sp]Steve and Billy to get trapped in the upside down together and have to work out their differences while fighting Demigorgons[/sp]
Honestly thought [sp] they were gonna have 008 show up at the lab and use her powers to make the demodogs not be able to see them so they could get through but she ended up literally being just a shitty one-off bad guy[/sp]
As far as I'm concerned the entire function of episode 7 was to give El her bitching getup, and that fully justifies the episode to me.
[sp]Not really a fan of the name they gave Eleven... I know the number is like a reminder of captivity and everything but it seems way more interesting than frickin "Jane"[/sp]
TBH the first half of season 1 was absolutely golden, but the writing in season 2 was all over the place. A shame really, because Stranger Things was going to be my most-favourite show of all time, until it felt like they rushed the end of season 1.
[editline]4th November 2017[/editline]
But the very end of season 2 with the [sp]Mind Flayer thingo stalking the concert from the Upside Down was really ominous, I loved that[/sp]

[sp]What, her Aunt Becky couldn't have given it to her?[/sp]
[sp]Also, I agree with the anti-Chapter 7 sentiment - it really doesn't help that almost nothing happened in Hawkins in that episode. I was only going to watch Chapter 7 but ended up watching until the end because I felt like I'd missed out on not knowing what happened with Will or the demogorgon horde for an entire episode.[/sp]
Anyone going to take a stab at how the upside-down works? It seems to mimic current events and changes of the our world, what with the [sp]Snow ball dance place being decorated in both worlds but yet there isn't anyone there to do it so how is it done?[/sp] I'd love some answeres or theories if anyone has any.

[sp]Jane[/sp] is a fucking adorable name.

Its pretty obvious from last season that the upside down changes in tandem with what happens in the real world, objects when placed down must seemingly appear within it, otherwise things like the light word game from last season wouldn't have worked.
Now how this happens is another story, do the items float around in the Upside down? Does the upside down evolve over time, like, the items stay in place in the real world for a short period and then suddenly appear in the upside down? Or is it instant, you change the way a place looks and the place changes in the upside down, we don't exactly know the specifics in that regard, but I'd go with the last option.

Probably so. I'd say the opposite is probably not true however: changes in the upside down don't affect the real world. It does seem that people/things in the upside down can affect light/electricity but not solid objects. These might not really be spoilers but whatever - In s1 when [sp]the demigorgon comes through the Byers' wall, you see chunks of wall falling and lots of destruction, but then later the wall is intact, leading Joyce to hack up the wall. That effect could just be part of the visuals regarding how the demigorgon could go back and forth between the worlds, so I think the stronger case for this is made in s2 with the tunnels being dug by the "vines" that came out of the portal under the lab. Otherwise the mind flayer would have dug the tunnels from the safety of the upside down.
Trying to remember if it showed Castle Byers in the real world after the demigorgon knocked it down in the upside down, but that's another possible example.[/sp]
So when is Steve [sp]Going to adopt the four kids, he seems to be the best parent for all of them[/sp]
The "relationship" between Hopper and Eleven was pretty much the one thing that kept me watching.
i'm pretty sure the whole point of episode 7 is to pave the way for season 3 focusing on [sp]all of eleven's siblings with Dr. Brenner being the main antagonist again. the smoke monster will probably return again for season 4. the upsidedown is amazing and all but I wouldn't mind if they hit pause on that for a bit to instead focus on a psychic army plotline for a season. they'll probably find a way to cram both plotlines in at once anyways lol but if not I bet it'll end with their fight accidentally tearing open a new gate to the upsidedown allowing for season 4 to return focus to that place + smoke monster[/sp]
I just realize something [sp]Eleven assuming Brenner was dead was exactly my mindset, I didn't realize it cut away, my brain was so sure in remembering that he got pasted by the Demogorgon[/sp]

Same. I haven't gone back and checked, but I was sure of the same thing.
As for the way the Upside Down works as far as "updating," compared to the real world, I'd be willing to bet, in the interest of spookiness and operating like a dark dream world, that it only updates when you're not looking.
Just finished Season 2.
That was fucking great!
The end of season 2 episode 5. That's enough tv for tonight.

Last year was #JusticeForBarb, this year is #[sp]JusticeForMews[/sp].
Come on, Duffer Bros, stop doing this shit.
Dude, spoiler tags

I mean what else was he going to say, [sp]"mom the cats dead and this thing killed it" and have her freak out, or it possibly hurt his mother? he needed to get her out of the house somehow to deal with the baby demidog and that was the perfect out
The only thing I disagree with was him taking it back to his house without telling anyone, but he's a kid who thought the creature was docile enough and probably didn't expect it to grow so big and he'd grown slightly attached to it, so I can let him off on that mistake.[/sp]
