I finished season 2 finally, I don't wanna write a bunch of stuff cos it was pretty good but...
[sp]it started off rocky but then the last few episodes just were SO FRICKING TENSE[/sp]
[sp]I really hated the intro to episode 1 and episode 7 almost entirely, it was okay with Eleven with her aunt/mom, but her visiting Kali just ruined the entire pacing and felt like unnecessary filler. I feel like if they wanted to introduce a new character introduce them in season 3[/sp]

It's one of the biggest shows right now on netflix and one of the biggest tv show's right now, it doesn't surprise me none that this would get it's own convention at this point with the massive fanbase this show has.

Even then, there needs to be enough shit going on to get people interested? Comic con is massive because its not just comics, its gaming, movies, comics, superheroes, toys and etc.
This is just a 2 season sci fi show atm.
A Q&A booth, signing, some toys, cosplay, and then what? I can't imagine them filling up a whole expo hall

I'm willing to bet it's going to be a small con for the show and nothing too big like comic con.
I know it's a TV program funded by Netflix and such and not some indie production but it really feels like the whole thing has become very sold out in the past year.
I've heard about Czech show from the 1970s called 'Spadla z oblakov', I'm starting to think it contributed to some of the ideas behind the writing.

Yeah it feels that way but what did you expect though, netflix struck gold when it started to pick up steam when the 1st season aired and now there marketing the shit out of it with merchandising,adverts and the huge glamorous events for them. I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing though, yes the fan base is going to get annoying and lame with the shit memes and everything else but the show itself is still top notch entertainment with a solid cast, as long as they keep up the quality with the upcoming seasons i wouldn't worry about it too much.
It's also a nice thing to hear from the creators themselves they wanna just tell a story and have a plan to end it on season 4 or 5, that's a big plus in my book.
i finally watched s1 properly and since i was paying attention its really good, is there a screensaver of that image at the start of s2 with the arcade sign?

Season 1 was fantastic and fun to watch and I felt it had great writing, pacing and characters.
Season 2 has been so far, a huge let down. [sp]I only just finished episode 4, but the characters seem to be less interesting than before, Dustin is incredibly dumb given all they went through, and really? 'the cat dies!! so scary/evil it EATS the cat wooaaah!!' that is such a poor trope and terrible writing. When I ask friends and family they do agree, they find it dumb and overused so I know it's not just me but damn. This season does not feel like it has the magic at all.[/sp] is it just me though? like do you guys find s2 better, worse or the same

I thought s2 was better than s1 but [sp]imo the most interesting part of the show is exploring the upside-down world, and this season had fuck all of that. 11 and her backstory are predictable, tedious and detracts from the spookiness. This is ESPECIALLY prevent in episode 7 which was the worst episode by far. And I agree, everyone across the board has gotten really stupid, especially Dustin.
My two favorite parts are Officer Hopper continuing to be awesome, and Steve maturing into a cool guy. Which is contrasted by chad bro billy who only cares about being the king of high school and pussy.
Fuuuck I wish they didn't have psychic children in this show.

Just finished Season 2. Man, what a great season. For the most part, it dialed up the tension and spookiness over S1, which was already great at both.
I agree, Episode 7 was boring and irrelevant to the larger story (just like Star Wars), but Episode 8 was back on track and scary as fuck. I wish the season had more episodes, but was happy overall.
[sp]It was nice to see Paul Reiser survive, too.[/sp]
Also, I love Steve, slightly homo. His hair was the real hero of Season 2.
