And the plot !
[quote] [sp]Stranger Things season 2 begins nearly a year after the first installment, on Halloween in Hawkins, Indiana. (The boys are going as the Ghostbusters, naturally.) Will has rejoined his pals after being rescued from Things’ alternate dimension, the Upside Down. But all is not well with young Mr. Byers, as evidenced by the slug he coughed up in season 1’s final moments. “He seems to be seeing images from the Upside Down—the question is whether they’re real or not,” says co-creator Matt Duffer. “So it seems like he’s having some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder.”
His ultra-fraught mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder), is attempting to make things stable for Will and his brother, Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and she is dating an old high school classmate, Bob (The Goonies’ Sean Astin). “She’s trying to mask a lot,” explains Ryder. “I think she’s made this choice with Bob because she wants a good father figure in her sons’ lives.”
Meanwhile, Hopper (David Harbour) is attempting to keep all the events of last season, like the disappearance of Barb, a secret in order to protect Joyce and the kids. “It kind of falls on Hopper to be the voice of authority to say, ‘This did happen and this didn’t happen,’” says Harbour. “He’s struggling with the compromise that takes him to, having to lie and cover things up.” Siblings Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Mike are also much changed and mourning the (seeming) deaths of friends Barb and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). “She and Mike are both the most screwed-up because they’re the ones who both lost someone,” says co-creator Ross Duffer. “They’re both grappling with that, and we see the effects.”
Shaking up the dynamics in Hawkins is the arrival of another brother-sister duo, Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Max (Sadie Sink). While Max becomes pals with the boys and attracts romantic interest from Lucas and Dustin (played by actors Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo), Billy doesn’t exactly make friends. Teases Matt Duffer, “Stephen King always has really great human villains. The evil in the real world is often as bad or worse than the supernatural evil, so we wanted to introduce a character like that.
But this being Stranger Things, there is still a major amount of otherworldly forces causing trouble. The rift to the Upside Down remains open, as does the lab, now run by the seemingly friendly Dr. Owens (Paul Reiser). The Duffers are coy about what types of monsters we’ll see this season, but, according to Matt, the show will be exploring “different kinds of horror.” Plus, Dustin will find himself with an interesting polliwog-like pet. “It’s a little creature I get to bond with,” says Matarazzo. “It’s obviously not from this planet or this dimension.”
And then there’s Eleven…[/sp]

Hopefully the monster is the [sp]Thessalhydra[/sp] from the end of the season.
Also [sp]Barb is possibly alive[/sp]

I seriously doubt it, at the first one. Demogorgon, at least, had some similarities to the demogorgon from last season, but a thessalhydra is a hydra with a razor-toothed mouth at the center of all its necks; not a giant arachnid-monster in the sky.
If we do get a monster that gets nicknamed the thessalhydra, it'll probably turn out that the big sky-monster is a hallucination on Will's part, or something.
Also doubt it'll be that because there is a 1 year gap between this season and last.
They aren't going to be [sp] playing that same campaign. I think it could likely come back up, but that giant monster thing is definitely not the thessalhydra [/sp]
Man, that teaser was great, can't wait for s2.
I finally got around to watching this and couldn't help but binge watched all 8 episodes in one sitting. Amazing show, everyone is perfectly cast, it's paced very well and has a ton of heart for the story characters and the 80's setting as well.
The music by S U R V I V E is outstanding, absolutely perfect and probably my favorite aspect of the show all things considered.

Wew. Hits me in the heart every time I hear it. I hope season 2 is able to live up to and maybe even surpass the same level of quality and love they've put into the show so far.
Just binged watched all of season 1 last night. Holy shit this was so good.

I have no idea how they are going to ramp up the conflict for another season, they might as well be in conflict with a god in season 2
Looks like the bluray and dvd will be coming out. (Love the boxset they made for this one!)

binge watched this over the past few days and while i found the first two-three episodes a slog to get through, it got a lot better after that and the last two probably ended up being my favorites. hopper, joyce, mike, jonathan, and eleven were probably my favorites out of the cast. dustin also grew on me too, along with steve when he [sp]finally ditched his insufferable asshole friends and went to make things right with nancy. hopefully they don't screw him up next season because the whole love triangle with him jonathan and nancy got old really quickly.[/sp] rest of the characters weren't too bad either.
[sp]upside down was also pretty neat, along with the weird flower-mouth creature(s). also mike and eleven were cute, really doubt eleven died though.[/sp]
i thought the first season overall was pretty good, a little slow and the bully characters really started to grate on my nerves after a while but now that the foundation and everything has been set hopefully season 2 hits the ground running and it's strong the whole way through.
They are revealing wayyyyy too much with these trailers/"exclusive clips!".

I think that's gonna be about it for showing off new footage for this season as were about 1 week away from seeing it, plus that eleven clip was already shown off in the first trailer anyways so it's not like they were trying to hide it. But anyways, don't think we will be getting anymore at this point.
