pathetic reason.. Casino Royale is definitely one of the best bond movies. One of the top 10. Who is to say EXACTLY what bond is anyway, nobody hates Timothy Dalton yet he is more like Craig as bond than anyone else.
That would be the writer of the books the bond character is based on Ian Fleming i read somewhere that a mixture of Brosnan and Connery capture the likeness of 007 in the books, to which i agree with that.

It's anyone's opinion.
Craig, Connery and then Brosnan are my best bonds. Seems very similar in popularity to Doctor Who as both of them have been going for a long time and both have had a variety of different actors play the main character.
How do you people like On Her Majesty's Secret Service? It was so boring I turned it off after like 25 minutes. Best James Bond actors in my opinion... 1. Pierce Brosnan 2. Sean Connery 3. Roger Moore 4. Daniel Craig 5. Timothy Dalton 6. George Lazenby
-snip, first post in thread-
Amazing format. Anyway, Casino Royale > Quantum of Solace
James Bond Music makes my noobish video awesome :smug:
Amazing format. Anyway, Casino Royale > Quantum of Solace
Thanks! I'll expand the thread a little bit soon but not sure what to put yet.
I just watched Quantum of Solace and I personally think it was awesome. I liked the "Bond finally becoming Bond" vibe at the end. Very underrated.
I prefered Pierce Brosnan. Craig is not bad but Brosnan was cool.
Roger Moore is by far the worst bond. He's so cheesy and his bond movies aren't as good as the rest. Timothy Dalton is awesome though. His two bond movies are great.
I just don't like the Daniel Craig movies. They really don't feel like the spirit of Bond. [editline]12:20AM[/editline] I liked the old version of Casino Royale more than the Daniel Craig version. It was hilarious.
The casino royale with Craig was actually not bad in my opinion but quantom of solace sucked ass...
I hate the new James Bond
I agree with this. What happened to all the fancy gadgets, sexy women and witty jokes? The Quantum of Solace was just a huge mess and is probably one of the worst films I have ever seen. Craig certainly doesn't fit as Bond at all. And please, don't say "yeah but that's how Ian Fleming described him" because the Bond 95% is fond of is the Bond that is always nice to the women, makes puns, drives underwater, uses laser-watches and shoots from the hip. I hope Craig stops portraying Bond and that they decide to return to the good old Bond-formula. [editline]03:51PM[/editline] Sean Connery was the best Bond.
While i disagree with the above statement(I personally find connery to be meh) Quantum of solace had a terrible pop song as its theme and in general just reminded me of a gibbed doom corpse.

I actually really loved Dalton, he's 3rd in my list (Brosnan, Connery, Dalton) The way he acted is the way Craig should be acting. His movies may have had a darker tone, but he managed to keep Bond's suave, debonair, personality, and still had all the cheesy jokes and awesome gadgets. Craig has none of that. He has no personality, he has no cool gadgets. In my opinion, he has no redeeming features whatsoever. He works fine as an action star, but not as James Bond.
Yeah Timothy Dalton is awesome :v: I saw Hot Fuzz and i immediately knew it was Dalton, he is very cool in that movie i recommend you check that out

If you have seen Hot Fuzz and you DIDN'T know it was Dalton who played the bad rich guy with the moustache, then i condemn you!!!
It's been a long time since I saw that movie. I probably noticed but forgot.
funniest part of the whole movie :smug:
Ignoring personal opinions, as far as quality cinema and writing goes, Casino Royale is by far the best bond film. As far as the best bond argument, my picks are Connery, Dalton and Craig. Brosnan was pretty good, but I still think Dalton is way underrated, especially considering how bold he was with the little material he had to work with. I mean let's face it, bond in the 007 films was pretty much a 2 dimensional character until the "reboot", there was no depth to him.
On her majesty's secret service is a FANTASTIC movie. Whether it follows like a bond movie is questionable but it is very complex
I'd put it in my top Bond movies. Once it gets further in it's absolutely fantastic and incredibly hilarious. Lazenby was an excellent Bond and really shone during the parts in the Alps.
I mean let's face it, bond in the 007 films was pretty much a 2 dimensional character until the "reboot", there was no depth to him.
I thought The Living Daylights showed bond as having more depth to his character than Casino Royale did.
Craig's bond was reckless and had just turned 00 status. If you realise this as an audience it makes for forgiving viewing
I've gotten in many arguments with my dad over this, mainly my ideas about Craig. Best Movie Goldfinger is my pick, everything from it's title music, to the crazy villain and his kickass henchman, made this one awesome. After that, You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me. Best Bond Connery personified Bond, so I'm gonna have to go with him. Brosnan's a close second, with Moore behind. I thought Dalton did a good job, especially with The Living Daylights. License to Kill was good, even though the hyperberic chamber part was pretty sick. I don't like Craig, but I'll get to that later. I left out Lazenby because I haven't had a chance to see his movie yet. My Opinion of Daniel Craig If this wasn't Bond, he'd be pretty good. But, everything about him just isn't right. He looks more like the bad guy from Goldeneye than a Bond. I understand he's supposed to be inexperienced, it doesn't mean they had to write him as an uninteresting asshole. The writers are trying too hard for him to be Jason Bourne, and that's not why I watch the movies. Casino Royale was decent, and Le Chiffre was a good bad guy. But Quantum of Solace was just a mess.
Daniel Craig was good as bond. He is mature, he punches people in the face.. he is cool.. he is suave but when he is angry he isn't suave... how can anyone be? He is a good actor, Quantum of Solace was unique due to it being ahead of what it was... so many quick turns and sequences cleanly blended together. It is underrated, not a "mess". Casino Royale is a superb movie... compare that the "mess" that was Die Another Day, which didn't think was that terrible either. I don't think people understand that Daniel Craig IS NOT keeping to the formula that James Bond was seeming to become. Think about the FORGETTABLE bond movies... Tomorrow Never Dies? The World is Not Enough? and Die Another Day? they are average movies that people have forgotten. even bond fans don't comment on those movies because they know they are average. Craig IS more depressing.. but that is his portrayal.. you can't argue that he isn't more positive when everything he cares about around him dies a horrible death? Quantum of Solace is an ACTUAL sequel to Casino Royale, he didn't even have sex in that movie! See how mature bond can be? And for the record, Bond is nothing like Jason Bourne.
