Yeah I hated that fight with Galvatron, the camera kept focusing on Nicola Peltz for some odd reason.
Honestly, I wanted Bay to finish of what he made. He just had to do 2 more movies, bring in Unicron and end it.
Honestly, I wanted Bay to finish of what he made. He just had to do 2 more movies, bring in Unicron and end it.
knowing bay, unicron would remain a planet the entire time and do nothing and somehow be destroyed
sure, that's exactly what happened in transformers the movie (except unicron did move the plot forward by destroying worlds and creating galvatron), but they didn't have 2 and a half hours of human bullshit to go with it.

The sad thing is that we will probably have to wait until #6 for a proper duel of eternal rivals with [sp]Optimus going to space[/sp] for #5. Knowing that, what's gonna happen with [sp]the rest of the Autobots with the Dinobots loose and Galvatron still on Earth? It's gonna be a one-sided beat down before Prime returns.[/sp] Honestly, with all of the injuries and rage that he has built up over 4 films, I'm imagining [sp]Optimus Prime going Asura's Wrath on The Creators in TF5 by turning into Optimus Prime the Destructor with the power of the Doritos Matix.[/sp] I hear that Guillermo del toro would be onboard for that. :v:
@Pops, I'm thinking that the CGI for Unicron would be a pain to do and leave him in planet mode. The mere thought of him transforming could make ILM's building explode.
nah
if anyone could do it, it would be ilm.
I know that this is old as hell, but wanna get a good laugh? Take a look at this: Transformers 4: For your Consideration:

thread bump time with some rumors
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Transformers-Move-Action-Cybertron-Future-71688.html
there may be an animated prequel all about cybertron stuff, and the new film may or may not go to cybertron as well.
I think Transformers One is a good idea. No humans, all set on Cybertron with a (hopefully) WFC aesthetic. There can be talking Bee, Ironhide/Jazz not dead anymore, and more Transformers such Ultra Magnus or Hot Rod. Unicron can also be teased to setup TF5 and onwards which I hope brings in Galvatron and his troops like Blitzwing to take Starscream's place. PLEASE BE GOOD

The new film will have to be about space, or else the film would be worse continuity than a 1980s commercial bumper. Hell TF4's ending feels like a toy commerical bumper. Just add the title at the end and there it is:
This feels less like Bay's work and more like Hasbro trying to milk toys out of the film franchise. Micheal Bay wants to do other projects, but Hasbro or somebody's paying him to keep doing more.
Oh and here's more film news at a Global Consumer Conferance: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/global-consumer-conference-2015-upcoming-transformers-movie-plans-more-182861/
In a nutshell (long quote)
Speaking to the audience, Brian Goldner mentioned that there is a fluid play pattern when it comes to Transformers. He mentioned that there is a connection between Physical Play and Digital Play with Transformers Video Games and Transformers Mobile Games. This play pattern is dubbed as Phygital.
Mr. Goldner mentioned that plans are underway for the upcoming Transformers movies in the Transformers Cinematic Universe.
"Last year was Transformers 4. It was quite a good success for us last year" said Brian Goldner. "We've begun to work with writers and we are now developing the Transformers [Cinematic] Universe beyond the first four movies. And we are continuing to have Television [programs] on the air with Cartoon Network where Transformers is performing quite well in the first quarter coming off of a movie year".
Continuing on about the TFCU:
"As we go forward, we would imagine several more Transformers Movies. Not just in the current lineage but also spinoffs and focusing on certain key characters that a beloved by the world over. Many of you know Bumblebee; the yellow Camaro… formally known as a yellow VW Bug and he is a beloved character by kids all over the world. We could see stories told around Bumblebee and other characters. We are in a process of building the brand equity around the Comic Book Business, our TV Business, our Digital Gaming Business and adding to that our new movie business of Transformers".
He also mentioned the partnership with Paramount regarding the Transformers Franchise.
"We don't pay to produce the Transformers Movies. For us it's really a reputational risk, it's not a financial risk. Obviously they (Paramount) performed incredibly well".
Furthermore he mentioned the relationship with Marvel while having a big franchise (Transformers) of their own.
"Well, we've been building Transformers for 10 years. It was out first movie property." said Mr. Goldner. "In our conversations I don't see that they (other companies such as Marvel) are reproaching. We treat their brands with much respect and effort as our own brands. That's the true testiment of a Brand Partner. We are a great Brand Owner and as a result [of that] we also know how to manage other people's brands who are great Brand Owners. We know what it take to make great Brand Effort with toys and games. We put our best effort and great resources into making Marvel Business and Lucas Business. We put an incredible effort into making a wonderful line of products".
Finally Mr. Goldner mentioned that Hasbro is in development of a fully Animatronic toyline. Details of the line are kept in secret and mentioned that the debut will come later in the future. We believe that this may not necessarily be for Transformers. But there was a slight hint about it.
Just in, two more writers have appeared on the scene: Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer. This should be interesting.
Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay have added the first two female screenwriters to the brain trust of writers who’ll hatch Transformers sequels, prequels and spinoffs under the supervision of Akiva Goldsman. Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer have both joined the group that will help craft ideas to expand the universe of the Hasbro toy line, then go off and write them. Hodson most recently got hired to write a new version of The Fugitive for Warner Bros and producer Arnold Kopelson. She previously scripted the spec The Eden Project, which Sony bought for Material Pictures, and her script Shut In just wrapped with Naomi Watts starring and BAFTA-winner Farren Blackburn directing for Lava Bear and Europacorp. The CAA and Kaplan/Perrone-repped scribe also scripted Unforgettable for Warner Bros and is developing a pilot for FX. She has hit the Black List with her scripts three different times.
WME-repped Beer writes in multiple genres, but most frequently comedy and fantasy drama. She has several features set up around town, including a live-action family adventure story at Disney called Dig, which she sold on spec with Whitaker Entertainment producing. She did work on Short Circuit for The Weinstein Company and her rated-R genre-bending comedy How To Nail An Alien is being developed at Atlas, and her script Electric is also with Whitaker. She’s currently working on a re-imagined The Wizard Of Oz for Warner Bros. with Vertigo. Black Label Media is producing and financing her project Sierra Burgess Is A Loser. Beer is the daughter of Sundance co-founder Gary Beer, and has the necessary background if Paramount wants to blind them with science in these Transformers films: she studied neuroscience and the intersection of technology and society at Stanford.
They join a growing crop of heavyweight writers who’ll expand the Transformers universe. Ant-Man scribes Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari were the latest to join, with deals to write an origin story for an animated feature, and another live-action film. The first members of the group were Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2‘s Zak Penn and Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Lost’s Jeff Pinkner.
as long as they don't use orci/kurtzman or that kruger person who did 3 and 4 i think we'll be fine, unless for whatever reason they bring in damon lindelof.
I'm just getting excited with the new faces in the writing room. Sure we've never seen Kirkman tackle Transformers, but he's a comic guy, and the best thing that's happened to Transformers in a while also happens to be comic books.(IDW's Transformers) I have faith that a sequel or one of the spinoffs will do fine.

Didn't Kirkman do the first two?
[editline]2nd June 2015[/editline]
Wait, that was Kurtzman.
Alright, we now have our final writer: Steven DeKnight of the Daredevil Tv series. Let's see where this goes in the coming months.
EXCLUSIVE: Paramount Pictures, Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Hasbro started its writers room to hatch Transformers sequels, spinoffs and prequels, and they’ve added the final member of the brain trust. It’s Steven DeKnight, creator of the Starz series Spartacus, and the showrunner on the first season of Marvel’s Daredevil for Netflix.
Edit: I'm just gonna put down my "hopeful" wishlist for this new cinematic universe:
1. A spin-off series based off of the IDW comics. Tons of material to work with since 2006 and Robert Kirkman's a comic writer.
2. A CGI prequel film centered around Orion Pax becoming Optimus Prime and Megatronus becoming Megatron.
3. A spin-off film based around the Transformers origins featuring the gods Primus and Unicron. With Hollywood's love for incorporating films where fantasy meets science, This is also likely.
Is Shia Lebouf going to return in TF4? I hope not
shia is done with the series, and mark wahlberg took his place in tf4.
Not too sure if Transformers should have it's own thread, but here's something I found. Sorry of the Necro-Bump. Happy Birthday, Peter Cullen!
I heard he wasn't gonna voice Eeyore anymore :(
Not sure about that, but apparently he was 1976's King Kong and was the voice and vocal effects for the Predator. That chilling clicking sound, the roars, and that [sp] sinister laugh in the first movie's climax[/sp] that's associated with the character? That's all Cullen's work.

Mark Wahlberg will return for Transformers 5
Almost one year ago, actor Mark Wahlberg was pretty sure that he would return for a Transformers 5, and though some progress has been made on the next entry in the franchise, Wahlberg hasn’t spoken about returning again, until now. In an interview with CinePop, Wahlberg confirmed once again that he’ll be back for the film.
In the fourth film, “Age of Extinction,” Wahlberg played Cade Yeager, a Texas inventor and mechanic who was also very protective of his daughter, Nicola Peltz’s Tessa Yeager. Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed over $1.1 billion at the global box office, bringing all four films combined to a total gross over $3.7 billion.
Transformers 5 is set to be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Director Michael Bay hasn’t not been officially confirmed to return, though Bay remains in contention to return to the helm of the franchise.
In addition, Ant-Man scribes Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari will script an animated “origin story” film that will be set on the Transformers’ homeworld of Cybertron. Both films came from the newly formed “Transformers writers room,” which includes the likes of “The Walking Dead” and “Invincible” creator Robert Kirkman, “Fringe” and “Lost” scribe Jeff Pinkner, X-Men: The Last Stand and The Incredible Hulk‘s Zak Penn, “Black List” scribes Geneva Robertson-Dworetrepeat, and “Marvel’s Daredevil” season one showrunner Steven DeKnight.
hope????
at least they have better writers.
at least they have better writers.
I'm honestly impressed that they are giving us some actual talent to write these films. The IDW comics and my own projects can only keep me entertained for so long. Robert Kirkman is a pretty good choice for future films, since Avengers director Joss Whedon is a comic book writer himself and the current Transformers comics are extremely popular now.
gonna bump this thread, because hot rod will be in transformers 5: the last knight

Combaticons hype?
I think with the fast development and apparent hype for TF5 we should make a general Transformers film thread. There is a TON of info posted via Michael Bay's and Transformers instagram accounts. I'm genuinely excited for it, even if Hot Rod's face looks like a Tusken Raider.

Pics of Squeeks (Vespa), Drift and Crosshairs were revealed:

I have to say, I actually like how Squeeks looks as he reminds me of Fixit from the lastest TF cartoon (Robots in Disguise).
I'm not buying on how Squeek's Cybertronian. Sure he looks like he transforms into a Vespa, but he looks like something slapped together in a garage. Maybe Marky Mark's character made it? Also that name is just too silly to be alien.
redid op. if possible, a mod could change thread name to Transformers 5: The Last Knight (2017)
also i was thinking--those robot designs for hot rod and drift. the mercedes is black and red, which matches hot rod's robot mode colors. maybe the colors will actually be switched in the movie and hot rod will actually be red and orange
