Action Heroine Cheer Fruits was actually pretty damn good, and I'm hoping it'll keep its momentum. Not sure how much you'd enjoy it unless you already care about tokusatsu and stage shows though.
it would have been good if it wasn't just a cookie cutter idol show like love live with every instance of "idol" replaced by "stage hero"
it would have been good if it wasn't just a cookie cutter idol show like love live with every instance of "idol" replaced by "stage hero"
This is such a ridiculous statement I can't even think of where to begin refuting it.
it would have been good if it wasn't just a cookie cutter idol show like love live with every instance of "idol" replaced by "stage hero"
So if we ignore the actual content of the show, boil it down to its basic framework, then equate it to worse shows then the show is bad, got it. "this baseball series is bad, it's just a cookie cutter soccer show with every instance of "soccer" replaced with "baseball"". God forbid somebody think that a show is good because it's executing its premise well.
Has anyone else already dropped Fate/Apocrypha? I enjoyed FS/N And Zero, and I'm looking forward to the HF movies being released, but there's pretty much nothing I enjoy about Apocrypha. A lot of characters are grating, almost all designs look boring or overdesigned and it's full of token genderswaps that are made with marketability first and actual interesting character backstory later. Welcome to Fate I guess, but it seems like the series isn't for me aside from the ones I mentioned before.

soooo, the 1st episode of Angel's 3Piece! is rather good, all the music is played well, and its actually worth a watch if you can stand the moe girls part of it [editline]fdfd[/editline] 2nd episode of Symphogear AXZ was great [sp]Hibiki doing what Hibiki does best, punching things into submission as well as arriving when needed, also the whole "you saved my brothers life but you cut his leg off" was stupid, no bullying chris[/sp]

For me, just KairixSaber of "Red" is the only thing that sort of keeps me going but i might drop it after 3rd episode if it's not getting better.

It's not really indicative of Fate. Also A-1 is fucking it up more so there's that.
As much as I love the Fate series, I am really not interested into Apocrypha at all despite my undying love for Jeanne D'Arc.
As much as I love the Fate series, I am really not interested into Apocrypha at all despite my undying love for Jeanne D'Arc.
Seems to be a pretty common sentiment, I'm like the biggest fate nerd ever who reads all the translated spinoff novels and has seen all of the anime even the bad ones and... apocrypha is just painfully uninteresting and poorly produced.
Watch Mahoujin Guru Guru. The new one, not the 1994 one. It's fucking incredible.
Mahoujin Guru Guru is on of the most ridiculous comedies I've seen in a long time, I had no expectations going in and it was super good. it's also got shockingly good animation and directing for a comedy show thanks to Production IG making this for god knows what reason. Watch this show right now holy shit.
i watched the first episode of that new guru guru since you guys were praising it so much it's alright, didnt find its retro anime comedy style very funny but the visuals are really nice and the presentation in general is charming
With the spring season being over, did you guys think Shuumatsu was a good adaption and worth the watch?
With the spring season being over, did you guys think Shuumatsu was a good adaption and worth the watch?
I don't know what the source material is like but as far as the anime goes I don't think I've ever seen a show so utterly fail to get an emotional reaction out of me besides boredom and increasing annoyance about how awful of a character Ctholly was. The show was the definition of decent ideas and bad execution. The setting wasn't capitalised on properly, the ideas weren't capitalised on properly, Willem's character wasn't capitalised on properly and he has a habit of having disproportionately extreme emotional outbursts when the show tells you you're supposed to feel something, Ctholly is horrendously dull so I don't give a shit about her plight at all, the show made a bunch of asspulls in places, and on the occasion that it had a decent idea it usually dragged the focus away from it. Ctholly and Willem were two-dimensional despite their large amount of focus and screentime and everybody else was one-dimensional. I can't remember a single character's name apart from the main two and couldn't while I was watching it either. It was an incredibly boring show that seemed to be under the impression that it was some grand emotional experience. It was trying to go for sympathy bait but forgot to even put anything on the hooks. Don't bother watching it.
Mahoujin Guru Guru was fantastic and everyone should watch it.
"We're counting on you, Emo Dating Sim Girl!"
With the spring season being over, did you guys think Shuumatsu was a good adaption and worth the watch?
How's the source material. I'm assuming there's more to the story than what the anime was when it ended. In any case, the show dragged heaps. I understand the need to try to develop the main couple but to use the most rote romcom scenarios and for it to take up multiple episodes just gets tedious. Like Reds said, they simply fail to make any of the characters compelling at all. Couldn't care less if they were happy, sad, angry, alive or dead.
Classroom of the elite, has a generic mc, with generic classmates, in a generic colour school, with a generic teacher, a generic student council president, basically the entire thing is so generic is a slog to sit through and then [sp]the obvious twist that points given is based on classroom performance, oooo wow /sarcasm[/sp]
Watched Genocidal Organ at the cinema. Good movie. You'll probably like it if you like things like Psycho-Pass.
How's the source material. I'm assuming there's more to the story than what the anime was when it ended.
I haven't actually read the source material, it is short though and almost done being translated it seems though. Mostly deciding to either watch it with it's lovely seeming ost, or spend less time and just burn through the books to the ost.
I watched the first episode of Hajimete no Gal. I don't know why, the show was stupid.
Honestly this entire season is shit save for the leftovers from last season and made in abyss. And even made in abyss toes the line.
Honestly this entire season is shit save for the leftovers from last season and made in abyss. And even made in abyss toes the line.
This season looks pretty grim, but then I look at the number of shows I finished from last season and the shows I expect to watch to completion this season and the number is basically the same so it sort of balances out. And what do you mean "toes the line" for Made in Abyss, there's only been one episode out.
And what do you mean "toes the line" for Made in Abyss, there's only been one episode out.
There was that bit about [sp]the little girl being strung up naked[/sp]. I can excuse it but I don't want it to get worse.
I'm definitely more excited for HF,
Super hype for the HF movies, it's my favorite route and I honestly thought it would never get animated.
