new game seems to be part of the "cute girls eat snacks" genre I just don't get
Tsurezure Children is pretty good if you like short little romcom stories.
Tsurezure Children is pretty good if you like short little romcom stories.
You might want to avoid it if you're diabetic though because if the first episode is anything to go by it's the most incredibly sugary thing you'll watch all year. The saccharine levels were off the charts.
anything good this season besides Kakegurui and Made in Abyss?
Princess Principal, Mahoujin Guruguru, Isekai Shokudou, Nana Maru San Batsu
Owarimonogatari s2 was so good godamn [editline]9th September 2017[/editline] Rewatching all of monogatari before watching it was worth it for sure
speaking of which, i finally got around to watching the 3 kizumonogatari movies i feel very conflicted about them, some aspects of them are really great and some i'm just not a fan of i love how expressive the characters are thanks to having a movie's budget, it helps establish their character and show how they're feeling without needing to be really obvious about it or have it just straight up be said out loud i also like the different tone from the TV shows, it's a lot gorier but in a weird way that makes it sort of disturbing and comedic at the same time the pacing is bizarre though, and i wish it was a bit less... dramatic? cinematic? something about it feels off i'll probably like them more on a rewatch
Symphogear axz ep10 (raws) [sp]holy fucking shit the hype is back, best episode of the series so far, the last 6 minutes brought back the greatness, the fight with Kirika and Hibiki against Saint-Germain was great, the eventual defeat means friendship, and then to top it all off Tiki laser been blocked by Kirika using her swan song powered by 3 linker vials, and with the possibility of a dead Kirika and ending on Hibiki and Saint-Germain ready to fight off against Adam and Tiki, Im hype'd for the next episode[/sp]
This episode of 18if is fantastic. Visually it's excellent, and it seems like random shit thrown at you the first time, but makes perfect thematic sense by the end of the episode, making the second viewing even better than the first. The art and aesthetic absolutely nail what it's intended to portray on top of just looking really good. The low point was a lot of rough art in many parts of the episode due to how much animation there was in this episode, but I really liked the art style for the characters this episode. Definitely top three material for me, with episodes 3 and 7. It was directed by Koji Morimoto, who made Magnetic Rose from Memories and has worked on stuff like The Animatrix, Mind Game, and Genius Party, which explains the quality. Lots of compilation stuff.
The more episodes I've watched, the more I'm convinced that [sp]Haruto is in a coma of some sort,[/sp] and that last episode pretty much confirms it.
The more episodes I've watched, the more I'm convinced that [sp]Haruto is in a coma of some sort,[/sp] and that last episode pretty much confirms it.
I figured it was pretty much confirmed after [sp]episode 8/Threshold had Haruto getting hit by a car at the start of the episode during the sequence focusing on him. I would be surprised if his coma wasn't relatively straightforward after that. Although Haruto being in a coma was never really in doubt for me since the first episode, it was just a question of how he got into it. His relationship with Lily is the bigger mystery at this point.[/sp]

Made in Abyss [sp]jesus christ episode 10 was horrifiying. It started out so cool, adventuring and cool vistas and shit.[/sp]
Re:Creators is really shaping up to have the best ending of the this season. Last episode had me tearing up.
Been thinking of watching that and made in abyss, any others this season that isn't moeshit that's worth watching?
Been thinking of watching that
Re:Creators is either the worst thing airing right now or in close competition for it. That show is fucking awful with no redeeming qualities. The plot is bad, the characters are bad, the action is bad, the direction is bad, the pacing is bad, the animation is [del]bad[/del] almost completely unremarkable, the music is bad, the best thing you can say about it is "the recap episode was good". You could write an essay on why that show is an utter failure at everything it tries to be. Or in other words the show sucks. Only watch it if you feel like you've been enjoying life too much recently.
The animation is bad? Can you give me some glaring examples? I've watched the entire series and the animation was fine.
You're right, I should rephrase that to the say that the animation was pretty much unnotable and unexceptional with the exception of Magane getting a strangely large amount of decent character animation. That's the only example I can think of where the animation wasn't just there, paired with the bad fight choreography none of the action animation stood out and most scenes were just people standing around talking. I guess it wasn't outright bad and didn't veer into blatant quality, but with that one exception it wasn't particularly good either. Completely unremarkable animation on top of bad fight scenes is almost as bad in my opinion, because there are shows with much worse animation than Re:Creators with vastly better fight scenes.
The animation is bad? Can you give me some glaring examples? I've watched the entire series and the animation was fine.
The literal entire bathhouse episode.

Infini-T Force looks like it could be neat Basically the studio has taken four hero franchises that they haven't touched* since the 70s, and are mashing them all together. *Except Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, but Gatchaman Crowds seems to have nothing to do with it aside from a few similar names, and transforming heroes who protect the earth from aliens
Infini-T Force looks like it could be neat Basically the studio has taken four hero franchises that they haven't touched* since the 70s,
Tekkaman Blade, Casshern Sins, Shin Hurricane Polymar, Casshern: Robot Hunter, and live-action movies for Gatchaman and Casshern plus a Polymar one coming out soon. They pretty much all went through their edgy reboot phase. Crowds was mostly unrelated but was meant to promote the brand for the somewhat more traditional movie adaptation that was coming out. The only one of those to get the short end of the stick in that lineup is Polymar which only got an OVA.
Didn't Tekkaman have a reboot in the 90s, aren't most of those active series in some way?
Saki announcement was that Achiga-hen is getting a live action Rip hopes and dreams
Symphogear axz ep11 raws [sp]The hype continues, the entire fight was great, Tiki finally get killed was lovely, kirika is all better now, Hibiki punches another god and now see becomes god is great that its finally gotten amazingly hype in the last 3 episodes of the season[/sp]

Halfway (yes I know there's extra shit) into my UC Gundam crash course and it's been a wild ride so far. Amuro is a god damn monster and I always look forward to his next appearance to see what crazy fucking shit he does. He MADE the original series for me personally. Seeing him go from some scared kid to an ice cold motherfucker who'll kill people in his sleep is equal parts scary and hilarious. Char was also great, but the parts where he wasn't present dragged and the villain of the week format of the mid-section did the show no favours. However that format did deliver us with several incredibly shitty mobile armours, each with a gimmick stupider than the last. My favourite is the Braw Bro, which Amuro murders the shit out of so quickly in it's debut episode, that the next time it appears he insists that he's never fought it before. In a fashion that had become normal at that point the introduction to newtypes was fucking terrible and fails to explain anything, even knowing the behind the scenes reasons for it. 9/10 show I enjoyed every minute of it. I have no damn idea what most of these characters are thinking or doing most of the time, which was a problem in the original but is so, so much worse in Zeta. Every character is on some strong shit and rapidly change their personalities and opinions in a matter of seconds. The show loves introducing romances as soon as characters share a room together, which for me signals the imminent death of at least one character involved. It feels like a script that was put through google translate a few times before being recorded. At least the animation team has a budget higher than 50 quid in Zeta. Not to say that I'm not enjoying it, the first series has numbed me to the strange and every fluctuating characters in this franchise. Of particular note is Fa becoming upset about the crew's concern for Reccoa and trying to start a gender debate on the bridge; because all women in Gundam are suicidal and would rather die than accept help. I'd also like to know why Fa gets to pilot one of their fancy new mobile suits. Kamille massively annoyed me for the first 20 episodes because he wasn't Amuro; if their intention was to create an actual stroppy child who gets upset over nothing they succeeded, not sure if that's a positive thing though. I'm not sure if Jerid is supposed to be a joke or not. My favourite suit so far is the Mk-II. The Titan's colours are cool and it's a shame they aren't used at all in favour of their new Zaku knock offs. [sp]Kamille is a man's name.[/sp]
