I just finished watching Made in Abyss, I liked the idea of the world and the plot but there are way too many scenes with naked 12 year olds.

With how Youjo Senki turned out and Alderamin in the sky turned out, I don't think the industry really knows how to handle military focused stories.

I love Baltzar, but honestly I don't think it's the sort of manga that would benefit from an anime. Which isn't to say that I'm opposed to it in the slightest and would gladly take one, but I can't think of anything besides voices that it would have to offer over the manga so I'm not heartbroken over not getting one.

I think it's worth watching, I'd just place other series above it on the pecking order. While I wasn't blown away at the time, I think I would probably like X a lot more if I rewatched it.

That's just a matter of adapting poor material. Youjo has an overpowered main character and Alderamin takes the standard route of "writing a smart person is hard so I'll just make everybody around him brain-dead".
Gundam X is so ok that it's actually kind of boring imo, dropped it right after the episodes with the newtype dolphins

I found Gundam X far less boring than Wing, Seed, IBO s1 and even Turn A. Yeah, I found Turn A boring, there are long stretches of episodes that are entirely pointless and don't develop the characters at all.
While many Gundam series, Turn A included are very concerned with telling a war story focused on the war itself and is more about the events of said war, X is a character drama about the main cast and how they develop in a way most Gundam shows just aren't, and that's the main appeal to me. I massively prefer a show about how one guy decided to pilot a mobile suit and save the world to protect one girl he had a crush on then a show where the main drive is which side of idiots is going to win a war I don't really connect to. 00 also manages to appeal to me more than most Gundam shows despite having some noticeable flaws because it's far more about the interpersonal relationships with characters apposed to outside forces. Now, I'm not saying the other shows are bad, well at least not Turn A. (Wing is terrible in my opinion, nobody likes seed anyways.) but I am saying that there's just a sight difference in writing style that I enjoy more in X than say, Zeta or Wing.

I really wanna see someone take another crack at [I]Kingdom[/I], skipping/glossing over the first arc cause it's fucking garbage. Like 500+ chapters and nearing it's 50th volume and there's[I] still[/I] seven states with slightly shifted borders. The Manga is and will continue to be nothing short of Epic. If an anime could even begin to capture that...

Apparently his previous work Hungry Joker was much more creative, but it got canned after 24 chapters so he basically went full-on "fuck it" and made something so generic it basically HAD to succeed.
Yeah, expect some molasses as hell pacing with that amount of episodes

Reconguista in G is good but please give the show your full attention, it's not particularly complicated or difficult to follow at all but a lot of people act like following the show is like trying to solve four-dimensional trigonometry while tap-dancing and juggling torches for some reason and we don't need another person on that list. I enjoyed Unicorn whenever there was a mobile suit on the screen but the second a human character appeared I completely lost all interest, plus I ended up hating most of the characters anyway.
I had a really good time with 0079 and Zeta but couldn't get very far into ZZ. I know its a really common observation but the lighter tone and jokes just didn't feel like they belonged, especially when you come straight into it from Zeta.

It wasn't great, but it's gotta have the dumbest ending I've read in a while.

It's dumber than that, but it had some interesting ideas while it lasted.

So i watched the second episode of the new Kino's Journey anime and (spoilers) [sp]I don't remember her being that much of a sociopath. At least, I was pretty sure the original series had her be more measured. So I rewatched the corresponding episode from the original series and immediately noticed that it was a two-parter. What did they cut out? Turns out they decided that everything that gave context to Kino's choice of dismantling a whole country wasn't deemed important enough to make the cut. Apparently the new version is closer to the LN but that doesn't make it better. In the end, any interpretation of Kino's new rule paints her badly but the original series made an effort to make her....less genocidal, I guess?[/sp]

Yeah her actions in this one seem very questionable because they barely gave anything to show why she made the decisions that she did.
I know they're just trying to get pass this part so that they could establish shizu quickly but they honestly could've made it better by just adding 1 or 2 lines of kino making observations
Can't say I'm that impressed with the new Kino so far, it just sort of feels... off. I don't know why, maybe that's just me.
