If something has below a 6 there's usually something glaring about it bringing it down. That's not to say it can't be enjoyable, though.
Or, alternatively, it's old. MAL doesn't like old shows.

MAL's ratings are dominated by people who watched one episode and then rated it zero. Your MAL rating is determined by how much you can appeal to the lowest common denominator in the shortest amount of time.
I haven't looked at their rankings extensively but something is urgently wrong when Berserk 2017 has above a 7/10
I rarely rate anything on my MAL, I just use it to keep track of shows I've watched and plan on watching.
Not to be rude but MAL scores are a completely worthless scale of measure, for airing shows even more so. You'd have to be an idiot to treat them like the bible.
mal works a lot better if you assume the scale to start at 6, and that anything below 5 is good in a the room kind of way.
MAL scores are okay if you keep them in mind but you shouldn't use them to completely determine what you do and don't watch. They may prevent you from watching some really bad shit but they might also make you overlook some hidden gems depending on your taste. The Akiba's Trip anime has a 6.71 score but I really enjoyed that show when it was airing, even if the animation wasn't that great.
Active Raid has a 5.97 rating and that's a fantastic show so it's not even good for that. I can name like ten very good shows on MAL under a 7.
MAL letting people rate shows while they're still airing is an awful system. ID-0 was received pretty well even on MAL once it actually received subs, but has a sub-7 rating on MAL because people rated it before subs were out for them to even watch.

Jesus Christ I thought this was just supposed to be a romance manga about cute girls hiding behind comedic masks not this nightmare.
MAL is awful and rating an anime in relation to other unrelated is also awful
I came to Japan the other day (hopefully it's not my last visit) and apparently there is an art exhibition of LotGH going on in Akiba. There are various things, mostly artworks related to both the anime and the novels (including the covers of upcoming books, which kind of suck compared to Japanese originals), as well as a 4m x 2m painting of Brunhilde and the Imperial fleet. Unfortunately it is forbidden to take photos of almost everything, so the only thing worth showing is the collection of models of warships:

There was also a chair for posing as an Imperial ship commander (along with cardboard cutouts of related characters) and some guy actually came wearing a military uniform of the Imperium, which he was hiding under a jacket before asking me to take a photo of him.
I got myself a LotGH-themed T-shirt as well, so the overall visit was satisfying.
watched both seasons of hero academia over the past couple of days
decent fun which is about what i expected, there's occasional quirks in the writing but there isn't much to dislike here
[sp]the stain fight[/sp] was easily the highlight of what the anime's covered so far

I mean that score makes perfect sense to me for active raid, I didn't enjoy anything about it and I can easily see why most mal users wouldn't either.

When you going home? I arrive there on Sunday.
In an attempt to make the new anime not look so bad, a three-part live-action adaptation of LotGH has been announced.

On Nov 9th, which is next Thursday. So I guess we could meet.
Wow a happy ending for once in Inuyashiki. It'll only last for this episode I bet.

I'm sure they're only doing a happy ending so they can knock them down harder later :v:
I've read a chunk of the Inuyashiki manga and it's not nearly as depressing as you'd think it is at the start. [sp]At least for a time for the old man[/sp]
been bingewatching Tiger and Bunny and honestly this is the most engaging anime ive seen in ages. the dub cast has every major engkish va you could think of and once you get past like ep4 the characters really start to flesh themselves out in a surprising way. pretty cliche but quality for sure.
the dub.
no sir
fam im a sub guy to death but i needed something i could run on my laptop when i was reading, the dub cast do a really bang up job
Anime is an audio and visual medium, it's meant to be watched as well as listened to
Anime is an audio and visual medium, it's meant to be watched as well as listened to
i never thought id be lectured on how falling asleep to a show was bad
I have reemerged from the depths of the darkness of Discord room to see a talk about subs vs dubs, and the only true way to watch anime is laser discs with yellow Spanish subs.
i feel it's disrespectful to how much work everyone puts in into an anime, movie or story-based TV show to not pay attention to it which is why i only ever watch something "on the side" if it's boring or i've seen it before
if i just want something to run in the background i watch a lets play or listen to a podcast

How expensive are those because LoGH wargame, yes.
Only watched first episode of Girls' Last Tour so far, but damn it's so morbidly good
What is a good one that grandma won't make me not watch it because she hates Japan

cowboy bebop and baccano appear more western than your standard anime so those might pass by her
