Also I want to say that I did shed a single tear during Gurenn Lagann.
I've never felt much for any of the characters of the show, but there was one short scene that got me.
[sp]For the entire show, Viral is supposed to be that evil cunning villain that is only filled with hate for everything the heroes do. He seems to only care about being an obstacle and a tenacious bastard. And then when the characters are trapped in that dream-like dimension, you see the kind of life Viral wished for: living in the countryside, with a beautiful wife and a beautiful kid, peacefully. That took me by surprise. Even sadder when you see how quickly he is to dismiss that fantasy since he knows that he may probably never have a family, because of his sense of duty, or mostly because being immortal means he'll see his family get old and die. The ambiguity makes it so much sadder.[/sp]
So yeah. That really got me.
My friend finished watching TTGL and felt the same way. He started Steins;Gate and is already hooked, maybe you'll like it too.
I've also finished SG, most of it was good but I hated the [sp]super fatalistic mindset[/sp] and also I felt there were some missed opportunities.

It's actually sadder because [sp]Beastmen can't reproduce so he'll be unable to ever have a family[/sp]

To be fair, the universe of Steins;Gate has [sp]fate as a built-in function in the form of Attractor Fields, which is important for generating the drama. I can't blame Okabe for falling into a fatalist mindset after failing dozens upon dozens of times attempting to bypass fate. He overcomes it though so the story ends up being pro-free will[/sp]
I have to say I'm really enjoying Fate/Apocrypha. I think my favorite apart is in the fight scenes when my speakers go BBKAJSHSHAKAKZ because the sound designer has no idea how to use the Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade works and Fate Zero sound libraries. I also enjoy how everything is over designed and wasted potential
I can't tell if the part where he says he's enjoying apocrypha is sarcasm or not.
I've enjoyed watching F/A with my friend, just laughing at it and stuff. It's been a fun ride.

It's fucking awful dude hahaha
Has A-1 ever done a good show? Anything I've watched by them has always felt super cheap and usually not good

Anohana, Silver spoon, Magi, Nanatsu no taizai, Shigatsu wa kimi no uso, Space brothers, Erased, Shinsekai yori, Working!!, Saekano, Grimgar, Tsuritama, Servant x service, Saint oniisan, Sora no woto, Demi-chan
Oh Erased was pretty good
Watching Anohana right now, definitely climbling the ranks as one of my favorite shows.
a-1 pictures can do good shows, it's just that they also do SO MANY SHOWS that they have a really bad ratio.
I really like shinsekai yori from them but they've also made some of my absolute least favorite shows, like apocrypha!
Just saw Koe no Katachi. I missed the first like 10 mins because I thought it started at 4:30 instead of 4, but nonetheless it was an absolute masterpiece.

Also Occult Academy and Occultic;Nine.
Also Occult Academy and Occultic;Nine.
Pretty debatable last one to be completely honest good sir
Also Occult Academy and Occultic;Nine.
Oh my god I forgot about Occult Academy. That show is criminally underrated.
has anyone here watched the second season of Ao No Exorcist? what do you think of it? i'm on the second episode and i'm glad the anime went back and followed the manga. all the non-manga plot in the first season felt really rushed and forced
Pretty debatable last one to be completely honest good sir
You dropped the show three episodes in. Occultic;Nine was a show that picked up immensely after a certain point, a show is not bad because you dropped it before seeing the pay-off.
Not every show fits nice and neatly into the three-episode rule, you can't judge everything based on that. Sometimes you can get a good impression of a show, sometimes a show takes longer to hit its stride.

I know I'm late, but I just saw the LoGH trailer and... it looks rather poor. CGI looks awkward, characters re-stylizations are meh. At least voices match pretty close.

I was into it by the third episode when it was airing, but I binged watched it and discussed it with others a whole bunch. It's definitely a show where you have to pay attention, otherwise you'll miss a lot.
Good visuals, sound design and a decent mystery; would recommend.

To be honest I not hugely interested with the show right up until the plot came together, at which point it rocketed to my favourite show of the season. I know that some people were into it from the start, but with my personal experience of it I encourage people to stick with it if it doesn't immediately grab them, particularly with how it has a bit of a rocky start with the pacing of the first episode and the fact that everybody in the show talks at three times the usual speed.
picked up Juuni Taisen
it's... entertaining

Literally the only reason to watch F:A and anyone that disagrees aren't true to themselves :v:
Holy fuck Apocrypha is so bad. Hopefully Netflix gets the Heaven's Feel movies since I know those will be good and hopefully Fate/Extra is good
Well it is considered to be one of the weakest entries in the franchise. IMO it's not that bad--average at best, some of the characters are nice--but then again I probably have really low standards (there was a time where five battle harem shows were airing at once and I took the challenge of watching them all).
(Don't do that, okay?)

TBH the show would've been a 2nd Steins Gate success, or close to it, if they paced it better. Imagine the first episode (literally an entire volume of the LN) spaced out over 13 episodes with its ending being the midseason finale, then onward to the rest with the second cour.
Inuyashiki manga worth picking up or d'ya think the anime is close enough that i should avoid spoiling it for myself?
I've heard people say the anime skips some less important stuff. If nothing else it will be a good read before season 2 (if there is going to be one).
