Severely underrated (at least considering how not popular it was), but a really good romance anime, which aired couple of seasons ago.

And Overlord is on crunchyroll, it's not anything incredible but I really liked some parts of it.
What the fuck is happening in Inuyashiki? [sp]I thought Hiro's gun shot compressed air or something but he's killing people through their computer monitors or their phones so it can't be compressed air in that case[/sp]

Seen a lot of talk about Re:zero I'm going in, what should I be expecting 'cos I've been told that it's good and bad.

I finally finished Gundam ZZ. It was bad. I didn't like any of the characters and none of them got an actual arc. In fact every single one of them ended in the same position that they started. And in order to generate drama they start killing off characters you do care about to compensate so they don't have to kill any new guys. Maybe part of this problem was that they needed extra bodies to fill the other cockpits. Characters from Zeta appear and do nothing at all (looking at Yazan in particular here,) in fact nothing involving him gets resolved at all! Beecha (and Mondo too) was a fucking turbo bastard from the very first episode and never got any better. But perhaps what's worse is that despite attempting to murder his supposed friend multiple times, he later gets angry at somebody else for putting him in danger. No character ever mentions that this happens and it's seemingly meant to be a bit comedic which is misjudged at best coming off the back of a series [sp]where nearly every major character dies. And one character commits a very real betrayal that has actual consequences.[/sp] There's an assload of dumb arcs where new characters are introduced with their problem of the week for the crew to deal with. It becomes very, very obvious at which point Amuro was meant to come back and kick off the real plot but it never happens because of the movie. In fact just a few episodes from the end you're still stuck in arcs that go absolutely nowhere. The rest of them existed to bicker with each other at random times. The Zeon guys were also much worse than previous series. Glemy is such an ass antagonist it amazes me that he has the role he does. Haman's dumb gimmick of trying to recruit Judau is incredibly annoying. The rest of them disappear for at least 30 episodes before reappearing at the very end, leading me to believe that living characters had been killed and that I'd missed something. ZZ was a pretty bad looking suit and was barely even used that much when it was around. Bright has a weird infidelity storyline with a bit character that goes nowhere, much like many other things in this show. But I think what annoys me most is that for a brief second, for three episodes, ZZ suddenly gets good. And then it goes right back to it's usual bollocks afterwards as if none of it had happened at all.

So, I've noticed that any CGI in anime triggers me. Even if it's relatively well done, it lowers my enjoyment of whatever I'm watching.
So, I've noticed that any CGI in anime triggers me. Even if it's relatively well done, it lowest my enjoyment of whatever I'm watching.
Watch Houseki no Kuni.
Watch Houseki no Kuni.
Is this a threat?
Is this a threat?
No, "watch berserk 2016" would be a threat. Houseki no Kuni the only unambiguously undebatable good cel-shaded CG anime because it's animated by people who aren't hacks. It also happens to be an extremely good show, one of the two best ones airing this season. The only way that you could dislike the animation in Houseki is if you were going out of your way to dislike all 3D animation unconditionally so it's a good way to see if you're actually triggered by 3D animation or just bad/mediocre animation. There's also Infini-T Force but nobody's watching it even though it's good because it's not being streamed by Crunchyroll or the other big streamers.
I feel like watching it just because im in Japan but having no subs might suck even though I've already read it
Probably a bad idea.
Expect disliking main character.
I wish I had kept a count of how many scenes he's in devolve into *autistic screeching*
I'm really enjoying Toradora if you're looking for a charming romance. And Overlord is on crunchyroll, it's not anything incredible but I really liked some parts of it.
Really? When did it go on Crunchyroll? Jeez I've been too busy to stay in the loop. I need to finish Toradora, I got most of the way through but then couldn't finish. I liked it though.
I wish I had kept a count of how many scenes he's in devolve into *autistic screeching*
It's always cathartic to watch him get his just desserts whenever he does that, but it's also sympathetic considering all the horrible things that happen him throughout the story. Which I guess is part of the reason why I like that show.
I wish I had kept a count of how many scenes he's in devolve into *autistic screeching*
I'll take Subaru's autistic screeching over a self-insert gary stu like Kirito any day
Hiromi Tsuru, the voice actor of Bulma (Dragon Ball), Meryl Strife (Trigun), Ukyo (Ranma), and Madoka (Kimagure Orange Road), has passed away.
Expect disliking main character.
What's not likeable about Subaru? [SP]He may start off as arrogant and stuff, but that's the whole point of his arc as he realises everything wrong about himself and comes to terms with it and tries to improve.[/SP]
What's not likeable about Subaru? [SP]He may start off as arrogant and stuff, but that's the whole point of his arc as he realises everything wrong about himself and comes to terms with it and tries to improve.[/SP]
I did not mean it in a bad way (i know it serves point and is not a bad thing at all in re:zero), but that's why i said to prepare for it so you won't drop the show because of stupid reason like "i don't like main character because of what kind of person he is". Subaru is not badly written, he is well written dislikeable character. There is nothing really you need to be prepared about other than this.
I just watched Episode 8 of Nisemonogatari and it's absolutely one of the most hilarious things I've seen these last months. The fucking toothbrush scene had me crying of laughter, holy shit I fucking love this anime. Edit: the whole "Tsukihi Phoenix" story arc is really really good and is everything I love about this anime.
i could totally jerk it to the toothbrush scene ngl
I could have lived on without knowing this ngl
Edit: the whole "Tsukihi Phoenix" story arc is really really good and is everything I love about this anime.
I feel like "story arc" is too strong a phrase for the Tsukihi Phoenix part of Nisemonogatari. I'm pretty sure the toothbrush scene gets more screentime than the actual plot.
I feel like "story arc" is too strong a phrase for the Tsukihi Phoenix part of Nisemonogatari. I'm pretty sure the toothbrush scene gets more screentime than the actual plot.
Obviously, the anime revolves more around its character interactions and dialogues than around the actual supernatural plots. I think it creates an original context for those conversations; uncommon people acting normal... most of the time.
Is Index worth a watch? I just saw it got a cross over with Virtual On
Is Index worth a watch? I just saw it got a cross over with Virtual On
I just finished the series not too long ago. It wasn't that bad I suppose, it got annoying that the female lead suddenly got this "bite you hard" shtick every episode though. I'm trying to finish watching the spin-off.
