People are bullying the show too much because it's not as good as working, but apparently tries to be one (it's not really same at all).
I been enjoying every episode so far and it's your loss not mine if you don't.
Blend S is good fun, but Working is an impossible target to hit. It's too good.
I'm guessing these types of posts are frowned upon, but I'm going to make one anyway.
I'm not really into anime, but I feel as if I'm being irrationally dismissive of it because of a lot of preconceptions and am missing out. So I'm looking for a gateway [del]drug[/del] show. Are there any crazy sci-fi anime's (like fifth element, the recent Valerian etc?) with nice aesthetics and atmosphere that anyone would recommend?

Just roll with Cowboy Bebop, it's not crazy scifi per-se, but it's a very common gateway anime. Really nicely drawn and animated, the dub is actually well-acted, making it pretty accessible for English speakers, and it has atmosphere out the wazoo
If you want the 'crazy' scifi variant of that, for something closer to the Fifth Element, you could try Space Dandy as well.
coyote ragtime show
Gonna be dissapointed probably. CyberConnect2 makes good stuff but naruto games etc are just... Not the best to enjoy
At least i think it's gonna be from CyberConnect2
I'm still waiting to see what their new original/self-published project is.
Asura's Wrath is one of my absolute favourite games, but it doesn't look like they did any large original titles since then.
I still haven't been able to play the DLC because I can't use my 360 right now though. I'd probably re-buy it instantly if they ported it to PC.

They did just put out .hack//G.U. Last Recode like last month or so. But it's more mostly a port.

It's on my to-play list, but I can't really afford it right now unfortunately.
What I meant is 'Project Venom', but there's very little information about that right now.

i disagree with the other guy though, i feel that watching anything in the original language is better (yes, even animation)
Not Cromartie High.
Or ghost stories

I remember hearing somewhere that Watanabe thought Blum was the definitive voice for Spike. It's been quite a while since I heard that though.
Having suffered through 20 years of French dubs for literally every single thing ever means I can't possibly enjoy a dub ever again, no matter how good. I will always put the original audio above everything else.
Not Cromartie High.
Crohigh being lowbudget as fuck is kinda a running gag so the cheap dub really just reinforces it

Wakfu and Dofus french dub were pretty good
Also some of the Ghibli movie dubs are perfectly fine. I prefer the English dub for spirited away because haku has a better voice in it imo
everyone should watch the howl's moving castle eng dub to hear christian bale as an anime

Probably because it's the original audio.

For japanese anime, I think Cromartie has a really good dub. I think it sounds cheap, but it's a high-quality cheap dub. There're plenty of anime that have very low quality we're-taking-this-seriously dubs. I suppose there's a sort of south-park like quality to it, where it sounds like guys taking the piss, but they sound so good. It's a high-quality piss take. And... I can't really coherently further describe how great Cromartie's dub sounds.

Take anything a japanese creator says about an adaption of their work by the west with a grain of salt, they tend to default to positive reactions for various reasons and it's extremely rare for them to say anything negative about it even if it's a trainwreck.

It's not sci-fi, but Detroit Metal City will forever be my recommendation for newbs

I can't rate any responses due to my post count so just wanted to say thanks, currently watching Bebop and loving it!
Oh boy I forgot how Outbreak Company had the best song in anime

Hajime No Ippo heavy spoilers:
[sp]For those that follow the manga, this is some really heavy stuff. First time in a long time that a manga reached me emotionally. I really wonder how the manga will continue as apparently it's been stated in the japanese twitter that it will be continued.
But seeing Ippo like that, with his realization with that magnificent page work, holy shit. This is a kick in the balls and guts. I have been only reading it for the past 3 years but it takes balls to release such a chapter and story progression. Some say it's a cop out but regarding the illness and conditions of mangaka and especially Morikawa since he's been ill for the past months, it makes kind of sense. A lot build ups are destroyed and no one really has any idea how it will go on. It's really rare to see such chapters in shonen manga. [/sp]
I really fucking wonder how it will continue. The only thing I can see is a possible [sp]timeskip of like 3-5 years and then let Ippo return as someone older, like Date.[/sp]

[sp]I don't mind that he lost but it's just that I've been following Ippo for well over 10 years and spent the last 3 waiting for his return to the ring only to see Ippo lose because he did not desire victory again.[/sp]

[sp]He lost because every fight he's been in (except like 3) were him getting punched in the head for 4 rounds before barely winning. He has brain damage and can't fight anymore.[/sp]
