Hello everyone, I dont ever post here but I do lurk. However I think I have just witnessed somthing that I need to get off my chest because I have never been so disappointed in my life. I have personally never witnessed an anime die in its second season because of a studio change and dramatic shift in quality of art, animation and tone. The anime in question is Terraformars, buff cockroaches on mars, nothing special but a fun watch. The first season had a very 'raw' feeling to it which suited the tone and art style the anime was going for, it wasnt too flashy but fighters had punch to them and just felt good to watch. For example;

And then the second season came around and now I want to hang myself

That is all.
Yeah Terra Formar's second season was a fucking trainwreck
Despite certain positions not changing at all, something happened in the creation of Terra Formars S2 that had most of the animation outsourced to TYO (with... predicatibly wild results), a strange artstyle shift with brighter colours, inclusion of more comedy elements (elements missing from the manga for a reason), and the skipping of a bunch of important characters' stuff for the sake of getting to the end of the arc quicker.
The final 5 or so episodes are relatively grounded and mostly accurate adaptations but the damage was done by then (the first 6 are really awful, good christ). With the possibility of a third season looming and an OVA coming, I can only hope they don't fucking outsource it for a start.
I should probably get back to reading Terra Formars but once [sp]everything shifted back to Earth[/sp] I had no idea what was going on anymore.
I'm still confused as to how [sp]the TFs got to Earth, I've only watched the anime as I never read mangas so how did that happen?[/sp]

What? Why? TBH I can't even remember how S1 ended but I'm pretty sure it didn't need a continuation unless they want to explain if the iron zombies die out or not.

Desperate to keep making the same show over and over, assuming AoT season 2 is 26 episodes, Wit will probably transition straight from Attack on Titan to Attack on Knockoff.
I'm not touching it unless they ditch the Guilty Crown writer.

[sp]IIRC they fixed up the Bug 1 or something, how exactly they did that I have no idea[/sp]
Terra Formars spoilers follow;

That's normal tbh. [sp]The shift to Earth is at best rocky and it took me a few chapters and going back and reading the date to actually figure out exactly what the fuck I was reading relative to the plot.[/sp]

[sp]They did indeed use Bugs I. How did they fix it? They were helped. We still don't know which country is the one throwing the Formars bones, but I don't imagine with the Earth arc as it is right now that we'll find out very soon.[/sp]
I gotta say, with those last two episodes, it's definitely flappening
so i waited 2 fucking weeks to play steins;gate 0 (so i can play it on my 3-week winter break) and now my monitor decides to shit itself and flickers continuously. god damnit i am so pissed
[editline]p[/editline]
nevermind, apparently one of the hdmi ports is causing the flickering so i switched the ps4's hdmi port it goes into. it still sucks balls though because now my pc has to deal with this.

Combat only edition, when? Would actually watch it then.
My fiancee and I are vacationing in Japan, and having a wonderful time. We'd like to come back for our honeymoon in a year or so, and would like to have a basic level of conversational Japanese by then. I'm also strongly considering expanding my business into Japan, acting as a real estate investments consultant for Japanese investors interested in American markets, which would itself necessitate learning the language at a fairly competent level.
We will be using some apps and tools to help us learn (let me know if you have any suggestions for good resources). I may even sign up for a class at the local community college since my licensing requirements necessitate ongoing education anyway. However, we figure a good way to practice the language, and make sure we have regular exposure to it, is by watching Japanese television.
Do you have any suggestions for shows that could be helpful in learning basic Japanese? I'm not strictly speaking anime either, but I didn't know where else to ask. Children's shows, talk shows, cooking shows, anime, etc. Any Japanese relatively simple and/or common language that could help English speakers learn or practice basic Japanese?

Omg I saw this on TV a couple days ago at our hotel. I had to wake up my fiancee to show her. What a ridiculous show.

Not sure if I should put this here, but I bought a MG 1/100 Char's Gelgoog 2.0 as a gift for myself after the success of my OYW Anime Colors MG Rx-78-2 Gundam from years ago. I'm doing this in the hopes to complete the DW: Gundam cast lineup. How deep in the money pit and time investment am I expecting to complete the collection?

(theres at least a song confirmed for coming out today so ???)
Long time lurker here.
Couple years ago I read the I Am A Hero manga and just finished watching the live action movie. It was a pretty good adaptation (at least from what I remember, it has been a while). I'm glad they [sp]didn't include the mighty morphing mega zombies or whatever they were[/sp] from the manga, it seems like that would make the already sketchy CGI in the film even worse.
I'm glad the film didn't take itself too seriously though, some good moments.

Could've swore this was in the first game too.

true, but this time it seems it has more entries for more obvious things compared to the previous game. seriously though, i really want to know why they do this. it's absolutely unnecessary. i don't know what they hope to achieve by putting words only a first grader wouldn't understand in their tips feature. they're just wasting their time, and a lot of it too because there are so many unneeded entries.

[TL note]
Finished Izetta. I'm almost impressed at how awful the finale was, Izetta had about one or two episodes's worth of potential before it dove straight into mediocrity and progressed into being outright terrible as it went on.

at this point the parallels that did exist between hikari and yoshika were blown away by like episode 3
