I agree so much. It really went downhill from episode 3/4 for me. And that is way more disappointing then an anime that sucked from episode 1.
Speaking of another kinda disappointing show though it had less potential to begin with... Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku might have been as bad in general since [sp] nearly everytime a character was killed off they either got 1. 8 minutes backstory before death or 2. 8 minutes backstory after dying because they didn't have a backstory before[/sp] it was so fucking predictable that it made me laugh when nearly everything i predicted came true.

Ehh, I disagree. The ending was fine and it managed to address the big glaring issue that the show presented in a way that, while a little contrived, was foreshadowed enough. Overall, the series was just underdeveloped; plot-wise, character-wise, worldbuilding-wise, animation-wise and pacing-wise. It felt like a solid 5/10 where all the good points were countered by all the bad (though I still managed to not dislike it overall).

Finally got around to watching the first episode of cross ange to see what the fuss was all about. Jesus this show gives Gen Urobichi a run for his money.
Why the fuck is Kekkai Sensen getting a 2nd season. I mean the start of the show was pretty good but then it was literally fillers and .5 episodes everywhere. And then it took like 2 months to get the finale to finally air.

Because it sold well I guess. I think I recall it selling quite well, anyway.
Also the parts that weren't Bones anime original added in to make it less episodic were good.

edit: interestingly Shuka (formal employees from Brains base) did the last season instead of brains base, who animated just about all of them up until then

It's just the first episode that's that dark. I'm not sure why they put that end bit in there except for shock value.
I mean, sure, there's still a lot of death and general cruelty in the rest of the show, but it's mostly at that silly-edgy "baby in a cage" level and "BLEH I'VE BEEN VIOLENTLY MURDERED" level. It [I]approaches[/I] being as dark as that first episode end bit, but it never reaches it again.
