I never said it was good, just that it aired in that season.
You've avoided a scrap this time.
BDA, you should definitely watch Hokuto no Ken. and then watch super robot shows like Change!! Getter Robo: Sekai Saigo no Hi
You've avoided a scrap this time.
just going to reply to your latest post for convenience you said you watched berserk 2016 and enjoyed it, so you should probably check out the 3 movies/older anime of it. both the movies and the older anime portray the same arcs of the manga (iirc, could be wrong) and they are more faithful adaptations, plus they don't suffer from CLANG CLANG and the cgi like 2016 does (subjective complaints of course, since you said you liked it) if you're not willing to watch the same arcs twice, just go with the movies
I keep watching random shows on Crunchy Roll and hate most of them. I could use some suggestions! Shows like Ghost in the Shell and Attack on Titan were a lot of fun for me. I watched the most recent series for Berserk, which was pretty cool, and also watched Ajin on Netflix-- not too bad either. I'm watching Parasyte right now, and digging that a lot. In a word, I guess I'm into serious and suspenseful shows with adult themes? Sci-Fi, fantasy, supernatural elements, violence, etc.
I think you should try watching Gundam Thunderbolt [t]http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/gundam/images/5/50/4353452.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151113151937[/t]
I watched Serial Experiments Lain. It was definitely interesting. It's only thirteen episodes long, so it was pretty quick watch.
Can anyone recommend any cool fantasy anime/manga? Something along the lines of rage bahamut genesis or log horizon.
Since so many new people are posting I might as well post the link to the Fast Anime™ discord link since this thread is slowly dying. https://discord.gg/4FJwW
Can anyone recommend any cool fantasy anime/manga?
Can anyone recommend any cool fantasy anime/manga? Something along the lines of rage bahamut genesis or log horizon.
Helck is a rather enjoyable fantasy manga though the first handful of chapters are more or less straight up comedy manga before it gets a bit more serious.
Oh yeah, forgot about Helck, it's great.
Can anyone recommend any cool fantasy anime/manga? Something along the lines of rage bahamut genesis or log horizon.
For anime: Seirei no Moribito, 90s Berserk (the manga is recommended over the anime but the anime is a respectable adaptation of the Golden Age arc if you don't want to read it for some reason), Juuni Kokuki, Scrapped Princess, Chaika. Record of Lodoss War if you want super traditional DnD fantasy, Slayers if you want comedy-slanted fantasy, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar and The Tower of Druaga if you want somewhat more game-y fantasy without straight up JRPG stats and health bars.
Obligatory check the op post Also I think Psycho pass, Steins;Gate might be up your alley
Steins;Gate is pretty great, but beware more than a few "y-you pervert!" moments sprinkled throughout, and that being almost half of an entire character. Still very worth watching though.
Sword Art Online is good, but having seen SAO I, it's full of holes and character motivations that I can't connect with. It's fun, but feels cheap as most characters don't have the privilege of getting a personality. Log Horizon is better, but having seen S1, it never reaches its full potential as a tactical MMO keikaku simulator led by shiroe and Debauchery Tea Party Mk2. Just him in a tent calling some shots while Minori kills it for every time she's onscreen which is a small fraction of the runtime. Also, the IRL/videogame line [sp]that SAO dealt with heavily is swept under a rug as everyone is 100% okay with living and dying in Half-Gaia forever[/sp], among other failings. A huge chunk of it boils down to "When Elder Tale was a game, <x>, but now, <y>. Interesting." and a lot of time is wasted. For both, I expected greater than what I got. Is there some third option I've overlooked? I'd be up for reading relevant manga, too. Thanks for reading.
Finally decided to watch Re:Zero and at first I was a bit skeptical but now suddenly I'm 12 episodes in and absolutely hooked. I want to sleep but this show is not letting me. help
So, I've ran across Blame! volume 2 in the local store, and is it really only 2/10?
Can anyone recommend any cool fantasy anime/manga? Something along the lines of rage bahamut genesis or log horizon.
It's low fantasy (no magic or non-human races, just fictional setting) but Gunka no Baltzar [editline]28th December 2016[/editline] we're gonna get a GnB anime in 2017 right right?
Feeling real empty after finishing Nisekoi (both anime and manga). Any recommendations for stuff similar to it?
wouldn't recommend anything similar to nisekoi
and that's the end of Hibike! Euphonium... I'll really miss this show, I'm glad I was so enthusiastic about it from the very beginning 9/10 for this season too
hibike last episode spoilers [sp]That Asuka end though, what the hell? genuinely surprised[/sp]
Your only escape is to finish the season. In reality there is no escape as you wait for season 2.
This is a show where I hope there isn't a big ass cliffhanger at the end. There probably is one
It gets even better
YES, it's already so good!
Im at Comiket and the line is like a kilometer long help
went back to reading Me and the Devil Blues def recommend it
Feeling real empty after finishing Nisekoi (both anime and manga). Any recommendations for stuff similar to it?
Look I don't want to feed your addiction to awful romcom with horrible main girls who will inevitably win in the end but: Masamune-kun's revenge. Anime is airing next season. I read the first 7 volumes of that trash, haven't kept up with the magazine releases though, apparently it's ending soon. It is pretty much Nisekoi lite, I'm sure you'll find some sort of enjoyment out of it. I really, really need to stop buying stuff because the girl on the cover looks cute. It has brought me much pain and little reward. [editline]28th December 2016[/editline]
went back to reading Me and the Devil Blues def recommend it
Did the scanlations pick up past chapter 27, I remember one really dedicated autismo on /a/ whining about it all the time after it got republished.
Did the scanlations pick up past chapter 27, I remember one really dedicated autismo on /a/ whining about it all the time after it got republished.
they're on ch31 now
Did the scanlations pick up past chapter 27, I remember one really dedicated autismo on /a/ whining about it all the time after it got republished.
looks like it according to batoto
hibike last episode spoilers [sp]That Asuka end though, what the hell? genuinely surprised[/sp]
It was a good way of ending [sp]the relationship drama due to it's open-endedness[/sp], and a good way to end the show in general. I'm sure some weirdos are going to be mad about shipping though. [sp]Depending on your interpretation, it could range between sisterly to gay love, with enough leeway to leave it open ended. I personally think it's more sister-like love, since they intercut Asuka with Mamiko earlier in this and previous episodes as well as the similar "used to hate/dislike, then love" relationship theme that Kumiko had with Mamiko, but who knows. It doesn't really matter which way though, since regardless it shows Kumiko's growth.[/sp]
brave witches ending: [sp]very nice shot of aurora, which fans have cried out for ages, i hope its a sign on things to come in terms of animation, along with the shot of the tank witches from a few episodes back. On the whole I liked the series, I like the different direction SL took it especially in the mid-part. The visuals however were woeful. Hoping the BD improvements give this series what it deserves[/sp]
