I started watching Scum's Wish and caught up to date. Holy cow is this an eventful series. I feel like more has happened in 5 episodes than in 2 seasons of a regular high school romcom (though admittedly Scum's Wish is NOT a regular romcom). Good stuff.

Has the [sp]psychopath[/sp] shown up yet?
What kind of bad is it? Is chaos;head a bad adaptation because it's not faithful to the original (but on its own would be a good anime), or is it simply a bad anime with shitty animation and pacing?
It's really just badly paced and horribly animated.
any suggestions for western fantasy/DnD style series? currently watching record of lodoss war and its really good especially with the history behind it, maybe watch 12 kingdoms next but i have watched it more than once in the past
DO NOT WATCH CHAOS;HEAD the anime is a fucking awful adaptation, read it or just skip it altogether also chaos;child is not looking too good either, but that's my personal opinion after 5 episodes, maybe it'll pick up
How does Chaos;Head relate to Steins;Gate?

There's also the Crystania movie and follow-up OVA as a spin-off to Lodoss. If you want something with comedy, there's Slayers. It's recommended that you read the manga, but if you want to watch an anime Berserk's 90s series is fantastically directed and highly recommended, don't touch the CG series with a hundred-foot pole. For a recently aired series, Hai to Gensou no Hai to Gensou no Grimgar - 03 [1080p].mkv_snapshot_08.29_[2016.01.25_04.15.12].jpg"]Grimgar is a great show. Straying a little further from the DnD are Scrapped Princess and Chaika. It's not western-style fantasy, but Seirei no Moribito is also excellent.
How does Chaos;Head relate to Steins;Gate?
They're in a shared universe that also include robotics;notes, but aside from a few offhand references to characters or events in s;g (most of which aren't even in the anime adaption) they're entirely separate series. That doesn't apply to R;N though, that shit is basically references the show to the other parts of the franchise.

I have the VN sitting beside me so I plan to play it this summer. Is there a place I should start in the shared universe in terms of the VNs?

Generally I've found that when people shit all over a release, when I watch it I don't find it near as bad. People flipped over the first season of Danganronpa too and it really wasn't that bad. I'll just drop it if I feel like it isn't worth a watch after a few episodes. I honestly think it's a masterpiece and has held my number one spot in anime for years. The newer CGI show is garbage in my opinion and frankly insults the quality of the manga and the original television series. I was so depressed when I realized that Berserk (2016) was going to be a dropper.
first season of danganronpa wasn't that bad but it was a far far inferior version of the game.
apparently new game is getting second season. i may watch it because the first season was good (according to my tastes). i hope this isn't late. [editline]p[/editline] damn
but why

After that comes Steins;Gate, and after that comes Robotics;Notes. Robotics;Notes doesn't have an English version though, and the anime is kind of iffy, but it's doable. After that you get Chaos;Child, which also doesn't have an English release, and Steins;Gate 0 released after that one. S;G0 actually has English versions for PS4 and Vita, and an unofficial patch for the PC version that ports the console translations to the PC version.
but why
bcuz
First, Danganronpa's anime was terrible. There is no second point.
It was fine.
It was only fine if you already played the game because your brain automatically fills in the metric fuckton of details left out in the anime. Like, the trials would feel like gigantic asspulls if you didn't already know what goes on behind the scenes

After rewatching gits in a theater it made me want to do a rewatch of gits sac. The series still looks good for it's age and it is really taking me back to when i first saw it on adult swim.
First, Danganronpa's anime was terrible. There is no second point.
but you also didn't like the game :wow:
but you also didn't like the game :wow:
this is true but regardless of my opinion on the game, the anime is quite shit. And I enjoyed the vn as I was reading it, it just didn't hold up for me when I finished and starting thinking about it.
So, whats the word on Youjo Senki? After Girls und Panzer, I've gotten arguably my most serious craving for anime ever, and I've heard of this one. How good is it? I know its vastly different in tone and premise from Girls und Panzer, so not really asking for a comparison on that.

It looks great too, which I was surprised by since it's a new studio, although the MC and her friend look like giant-mouthed abominations.

If someone asked me what I watch, and I replied "gits sac", they'd assume I spy on men in the lockers.
I never watched GuP, but Youjo Senki is at it's heart a tongue-in-cheek nihilist comedy that is a little too edgy at times, but makes up for it with an interesting world and entertaining set pieces. The LN is even edgier too. [editline]13th February 2017[/editline] that ninja has a horrific avatar, jesus christ Sgt Doom

My parents got me in to both of those, but I never branched out much after that on my own. Basically everything I know comes from what came on Adult Swim (Lupin the Third, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, technically Full Metal Alchemist and Death Note although they never clicked with me really,) and what friends recommended (Kill La Kill, Attack on Titan, Jormungand (I can't decide if I love this absurd show or despise it,)). Which is I think, at least a little, why I love Girls und Panzer so much: It's the first I found it entirely on my own, no one else suggesting it or reading reviews about it or seeing it because it was on TV. Ghost in the Shell is still my absolute favorite though. The setting, the characters, the philosophy, all of it. I'm actually taking a literature class on comics and manga (we've already read both Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen), and later on the syllabus is Volume 1 of Ghost in the Shell. Instead of renting like all the others, I explicitly bought a copy to have as my own. It's one that may never be dethroned as my favorite just because of how much I love every aspect of it and how much is meshes right in with my personality and interests.

The artstyle is kinda screwed from the LN+manga, but it's still a good show.
