if you find enjoyment in that then good for you, enjoying things is a good thing even if they're not particularily good on a technical level regardless of whether or not super saiyan was supposed to actually be a legend or not, the buildup made it a big deal, and when everyone started doing it and leveling up past it, it became pointless, making all future buildup feel pointless as well because it will end up the same way
Fair enough. Good discussion :D! [editline]23rd February 2017[/editline]
I personally never got into one piece, not really sure why but I just didn't really like it that much.
I actually didn't care for it much until Alabasta.
This leads me to believe you are biased because the TV show doesn't perfectly emulate the manga for you. The show is fine, albeit shittily paced since Dressrosa (maybe earlier, can't remember).
if anything, I should be biased towards the anime because I grew up with it and only switched to the manga around 400-500 episodes in but after that I pretty much never looked back the biggest bummer about the adaptation is not even the fillers, but the worse art, character designs and surprisingly bad animation the style Toei chose erased almost all detail that Oda put into his artwork, it's especially noticeable if you pay attention to the shading and I'm pretty sure that for at least the last couple hundred episodes, Toei's been abusing the ridiculous 1 chapter = 1 episode format that's less than 20 pages stretched into a 20 minute episode, which is absolutely criminal I really don't recommend it
Totally off topic -- but has anyone watched Baccano! lately? I've been going back and sorting through my older favourites (from the mid 2000's) and this one really stood out to me in a way that still hasn't been surpassed. This might not be the place to drool over old anime but I never really got the chance to talk about it with anyone God I love this show
I saw it for the first time fairly recently and then promptly bought the first of the light novels since it somehow actually exists in bookstores here in this country. It's an awesome anime. I've also watched Durarara but I didn't think as highly of it, still good though.
Okay all the crossdressing in arslan senki is getting a bit silly :v:

Despite that though I still found it to be a heavily enjoyable experience.
Even the series itself admitted how badly Super Saiyan was reduced to just a power up now.
But that's the buu saga, the part of dbz where toriyama was literally payed to keep going.
I don't mind rewatching the op of maid dragon every new episode, specifically because of this part [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/jzvtna.jpg[/t]
my break on anime has ended because i watched youjo senki recently. and it's pretty neat. however, it does have major flaws; the edgy rebellious atheist subplot is super unnecessary and it could do without. it's not because i am not an atheist, it's because it's just totally unnecessary. also, at least at the time when i first started watching it tanya's lines and her just in general felt cringy i might be the only person to carry this opinion because i just don't like really implausible events in which a maniacal edgy toddler kills, what, 5-7 people singlehandedly. also, i think tanya would be cuter if it wasn't for the show butchering up the original fantastic artstyle. it's pretty neat though. i just wish i would be this willing to watch youjo senki as ttgl. also REMOVE THE DUCK FACE
also REMOVE THE DUCK FACE
[t]https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/4d/c3/22/4dc322fcea743e3d45220079585baf86.jpg[/t] I also forgot how awesome the Parasyte the Maxim opening is.
I think you're misunderstanding Tanya's position. She isn't denying or confirming the existence of god, she's denying that Being X is a god. What kind of all knowing, powerful god lets themselves get overtaxed managing people, and throws one of their own into another universe to "give them faith." When she says he's more of a devil, she means that literally. Her existence is trying to be snuffed out by him, and she's struggling against that. I agree with you on the art style, though. I've gotten used to it, but it could have been something much different (and better)
also REMOVE THE DUCK FACE
I'll take a weird sort of ugly art style that's more unique over a generic art style any day personally.
Not gonna lie I probably wouldn't find Viktorya's character as endearing if she didn't look like a blobfish
Not gonna lie I probably wouldn't find Viktorya's character as endearing if she didn't look like a blobfish
People have complained about her looking like a moeblob but I can't think of a single conventionally moe character who has such a weird droopy face, even the ones that look like mutants like Mikuru.
People have complained about her looking like a moeblob but I can't think of a single conventionally moe character who has such a weird droopy face, even the ones that look like mutants like Mikuru.
I'd say she's less moe and more blob, unlike her manga design where she just looks like a generic bishoujo
The t-pose flying in the air bit reminds me of something. Maybe some other OP but I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyone know what it might be?
Paranoia agent probably

fuck this is too accurate
But that's the buu saga, the part of dbz where toriyama was literally payed to keep going.
That's anime filler not part of manga.
I'll take a weird sort of ugly art style that's more unique over a generic art style any day personally.
she doesn't look generic at all in the source material (LN, Manga) [t]https://i.imgur.com/7uxUS20.png[/t] both her and Tanya look pretty unique
she doesn't look generic at all in the source material (LN, Manga) [t]https://i.imgur.com/7uxUS20.png[/t] both her and Tanya look pretty unique
That's a generic pretty girl from what I can see
she doesn't look generic at all in the source material (LN, Manga) [t]https://i.imgur.com/7uxUS20.png[/t] both her and Tanya look pretty unique
That design doesn't look very unique to me.
are the both of you blind? the anime literally took two unique designs and watered them down as much as possible [t]https://i.imgur.com/IsUzWru.jpg[/t]
I think anime Tanya is a good blend of the two styles, but Viktoria's is inexcusable.
are the both of you blind? the anime literally took two unique designs and watered them down as much as possible [t]https://i.imgur.com/IsUzWru.jpg[/t]
Ignoring the duck lips, the main difference between the original design and the anime design is that the original can afford to put more detail into the eyes. Other than that I don't see what the big deal is. Viktorya's pretty much a completely different character, but there's nothing special about her original design besides the fact that she's more conventionally beautiful and she has more detail because she's not designed to be animated. Anime Viktorya is a hell of a lot more memorable than the LN/manga as far as I'm concerned.
are the both of you blind? the anime literally took two unique designs and watered them down as much as possible [t]https://i.imgur.com/IsUzWru.jpg[/t]
deal with it?
It looks fine
deal with it?
no I am eternally mad
