Anyway, today I got to watch some Sailor Moon Crystal... and it's alright, not too impressive, and CGI is damn obvious - although I was told that starting season 3 it gets better, so I'll keep watching. And man, whoever the director is, they've got mind control fetish or something.
Next, we watched Eva 3.3, and holy fuck did they take up the challenge to make it as confusing as possible.
Finally, afterwards I watched </Harmony>, and I have the same problems with it as I did with Empire of the Dead - it ends without providing an actual ending, has interesting world building that is just dumped on you, and kinda takes you on a ride around places that don't even matter. Oh, and carpet CGI, best CGI.
Allow me to add to the endless pile of praise for Hibike Euphonium... It is just awesome. I've never watched any show that made me want to [I]re[/I]watch it the instant I was finished with the latest episode. But that's what I did, and I love noticing all the little hints and details I missed, regarding things like [sp]the second-years[/sp] and [sp]Aoi and Asuka's lack of faith[/sp].
While Occultic Nine has slowed down its ridiculously rushed pacing since the first episode, everybody still talks comically quickly, particularly this episode. It sounds absolutely ridiculous to have every character talking two or three times as fast as usual because there's too much dialogue and not enough time.

I hate how there's never any pauses between sentences, really annoying to try and follow what the heck is going on.
One scene in the latest ep was just 2 people talking back and forth for 4 minutes really fast and as if the wasn't annoying enough the camera decides to start spinning for like a whole minute towards the end.
I wonder just how much better Occultic Nine would be if it was two-cours and could afford to slow down for ten seconds.
While a recent plot development has convinced me to keep going with the show for a bit longer, so far it has lacked any particularly interesting or likable characters despite having such a large cast, which is kind of a problem when nobody ever shuts up and half the characters with the most speaking time are loud-mouthed and obnoxious.

I have the feeling that the show would actually be good if it had 24 episodes and much better pacing. The characters are a bit unlikable, yeah, but I feel like they would work well with the plot if it weren't going a mile a minute.

tomo-chan sucks now, the author is just dragging it out with dumb subplots and unfunny gags. All the author had to do was show some tomboy tiddy and some blushing and wrap it up in a reasonable amount of chapters and be all fine and dandy
