manga recommendation time,
found one thats rather fun to read Goblin is very strong only 2 chapters so far.
its about a goblin that manages to get to level 99, rather light hearted, but i think its fun
the only anime i'm watching this season at the moment is akashic records, and let me tell you fam, it is amazing. the first episode was extremely fun to watch because it completely threw out all potential anime cliches, thanks to glenn making it 100000x better. the uniforms stick out like a sore thumb, but i don't really mind it. and rumia is a real cutie.
Akashic Records made me realize there's a new breed of Generic Anime Protagonist: the Generic Anime Protagonist who's self aware about Generic Anime Protagonist Tropes but continues to Anime Protagonist Generically anyway
Finally saw Kimi no Na Wa today. It was a great film, but not a major feels trip like I'd heard. I managed to go into it knowing nothing about what happened, which made it all the better.
The song from the end credits is now stuck in my head too.

fuck off
That was legitimately the line though.
In Japanese.

I think the point wasn't subs joking about it, but the fact that anime decided to pull that joke.
I saw Kimi no Na Wa twice.
[sp]I feel like the time stuff made more sense the second time. It's still "magic" but in the context of the movie everything works out fine.[/sp]
Really enjoyable, not mega feels-y but teary. Wish I saw it with someone instead of solo but oh well.
Finished Death Note.
The first half with L and Light was really great. [sp]I loved seeing them trying to outsmart each other.[/sp] The 2nd half was lacking but picked up near the end. Had a great ending in my opinion.

I can't believe it took this long for anime to make the joke, though.
Bahamut S2's ed is great, idolm@ster CGs Theater's ED is show-tunes and great, Hinako note's op and ed are both sugar sweet, I'm drowning in good songs this season.
Oh oh I also have a question about Attack on Titan S2's op...
[sp]Do goddamn dinosaurs and stuff show up in the manga currently!? Or is it just a symbolic thing for the OP?[/sp]
So I've got a question. Did anybody ever do Golden Time, but good?
As in, having the premise of the main character (or at least one of the leads) be a fairly realistic depiction and deconstruction of the tsundere archetype that has a horribly self-destructive and abusive personality that they’re even self-aware of but cannot stop themselves because they have serious issues? One where it gets to the point where nobody in the show’s own continuity actually wants to be friends with them because if you acted like that in real life, you would always be pushing people away from you, and they would think you’re crazy? And as the icing on the cake the characters are actually adults and in university rather than kids in the ubiquitous high school setting?
I thought that aspect of the show was fascinating and so compelling. It’s why to this day I lament that in the third episode it takes a hard left and the plot turns out to be about the horribly boring and generic MC who has the most cliche and contrived anime amnesia. Golden Time set the new standard for how fast something can go from good to dropped, but I digress.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Maybe this is something that's more common in shoujo?

realistic depiction? The only thing is that it was set in uni rather than high school but after that it was just shitty people doing shitty things and remember kids as long as you're cute it's ok
the only romance i think of where the love interest is a piece of shit but becomes better is Itazura na Kiss
I'm still not convinced on Re:Creators, but that second episode is making me warm up to it. Having the magical girl [sp]get freaked out about fucking people up[/sp] was pretty good
Do I watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? Gonna guess yes.
Do I watch the re-edited thing or the original first series?

Realistic might not be the right word for it, but I guess what I'm getting at is something where tsundere isn't treated as a joke, and being shitty like that actually has consequences. That kind of behavior is really self destructive, but it's never really treated that way. Like most people in Golden Time legitimately hated Koukou, and for good reason, at the beginning of the show.
To be fair, I could very well be giving Golden Time too much credit because I did only see the first 4 episodes, so it might play out totally different from how I think it might or wish it did.

Re-edited? There's the 90s OVA and the TV series, watch the TV series.

Phantom Blood and Battle Tendancy have re-edited versions that cut down on those parts.

jojo (2012) -> stardust crusaders -> diamond is unbreakable
do not skip any parts

no you did good for dropping it, kyouko is a massive bitch throughout. Shit gets really retarded in the 2nd half too.

I really enjoyed the arc where Light learned to swim

go with the full series, the re-edited version basically cuts down a 26 episode series into like 3 hours or so, it's there for people who arent interested in the hamon stuff and just want to get to stands
it's a shame though because part 2 (episode 10 onwards of the 2012 series) is one of the best parts
This is fantastic
This is fantastic
No shit it's fatantastic, it's JoJo Bizarre Adventure!
I really enjoyed the arc where Light learned to swim
What?
frame arms girls now has a pair of incestuous lesbian dominatrices
this show is perfect
With it now over, I need something to replace Youjo Senki. I was in to that shit by the end.
I'm also constantly trying to find ways to coerce friends and family in to watching Girls und Panzer with me. And I need the movie and OVAs but fuck that shit is expensive.
Anyone know which show the blonde with the really thick eyebrows is from? Keep seeing her pop up...
K-On? Might need to be a bit more descriptive.
So I was gonna go see the Kimi no Na Wa dub with a buddy after his exams because I kinda want to see the dub and he hasn't seen the movie yet. Well it turns out Cineplex airs the dub one time a day in the middle of the day, but they air the subs 3 times a day in the evening. Someone at Cineplex's head office must watch anime.
So I caught up on the Attack on Titan manga all the way to ch 93
what in the actual fuck, I didn't sign up for [sp]World War I titan jews[/sp]
