Because you're stating your opinion as a fact. "Konosuba is bad" and "I didn't like Konosuba" carry vastly different tones
I don't get why people get so hung up on this, as if you have to explicitly state something is your opinion or you're saying it's fact. If I say something is bad I don't ever mean it objectively, that would be stupid, the subjectivity is implied and it's not my fault you can't understand that when that's how all communication works.
Not what I'm saying lol
You say that but it feels like any time anyone says a dissenting opinion more than once you immediately accuse them of never shutting up about it. I complained about konosuba like two times and you said to stop bringing it up every week.
the only characters who aren't completely flat are Kobayashi and Fafnir
They seemed pretty flat to me [editline]29th April 2017[/editline]
This might be an out-of-left-field question, but does anyone here have experience posting anime shit on Youtube? I've been wanting to get into posting reviews and shit on my channel, but I'm worried about getting blasted in the ass by copyright strikes. I posted a video on Attack on Titan, and it got IMMEDIATELY claimed, but I'm at least allowed to keep the video up. But just tonight, I uploaded a short clip of Robotech UNLISTED, and it got IMMEDIATELY claimed + blocked in the US and Canada. So I'm afraid I won't be able to post the full video when I finish it. For reference, this was the unlisted clip I tried to post: [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/vbjswl.mp4[/vid] I guess this is more of a Youtube question than an anime question, but does anyone think I have a good chance of fighting copyright claims on videos that actually are reviews? At least to the point of not having them blocked? Or does Youtube still shit all over fair use? And does this happen with most anime, or are there just certain copyright holders that are especially egregious about it?
According to Digibro and other big anime Youtubers you can avoid getting copyright strikes if you stick to less than ten second long clips.
According to Digibro and other big anime Youtubers you can avoid getting copyright strikes if you stick to less than ten second long clips.
That seems like it'd be really hard to do. Any review I do would be composed like 90-100% of clips of the show, since that's what the video is about. I wouldn't want to watch a video where the subject of the review is barely on the screen. When you say strikes, do you MEAN strikes, or just the automatic copyright claims? AFAIK, when copyrighted material is discovered in a video, they just place a CLAIM on it, which will just cause the video to be de-monetized, or muted, or blocked in certain countries, depending on who claims it. The Attack on Titan video I've already posted got a copyright claim, but all that changed is that I can't monetize it. Same thing has happened when I posted clips of Fist of the North Star in the past. Only the Robotech video has been outright blocked in several countries. But you don't get a copyright STRIKE unless you DISPUTE the claim, AND Youtube decides you were in the wrong to make the dispute. So I really want to figure out how fair their dispute system is. I don't really care whether I can monetize the videos, I just don't want them to be taken down.
I kinda get Reds here because the same thing happened to me when I said Konosuba is bad. You have this anime and everyone flocking to it and you just don't get where's the funny in it. Then when you mention it everyone gives you shit about it.
Well it has nothing to do with you saying 'I just don't get it' and more with the fact that you say that it's terrible. It's the juxtaposition to what is being argued here, but equally shitty. [editline]28th April 2017[/editline]
I do think it's a fact though, I still liked the first season enough to give it a 7. but s2 was eyes emoji.
Yup, see here we go. But let's not dwell on this too much or it turns into Fast Bullying, and that's what the Discord is for, not here :v: [editline]28th April 2017[/editline] In other news I just got another friend to watch One Punch Man. He doesn't watch anime too. He loves it.
Imagine if you had to go through this routine every time you said you liked a show. "gurren lagann is a good show" "wow i can't believe you're trying to push your opinion as objective fact, what an asshole" In other news, I feel like there really aren't many good OPs or EDs this season. There's like two notable OPs out of all the shows I'm watching and a handful of decent-to-good EDs, but nothing that's blowing me away.

Bahamut: Virgin Soul is a really good looking show. I can't believe they kept the quality of these episodes consistent.
Bahamut: Virgin Soul is a really good looking show. I can't believe they kept the quality of these episodes consistent.
I'm just surprised at how much I like the MC
gettin' real tired of characters named rory and shouta
It definitely feels like there's a lot more quality anime this season.
I am not sorry.
i think the downfall of this is more the acting if anything it's way too hard to live up to the expressiveness of the source
Jojo never needs to be and shouldn't be live action
I feel like it would work surprisingly well because 90% of the fights are talking/mindgames. They better keep the ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ though.
SnK chapter 93 [sp]holy shit Ymir actually just got eaten off-panel the timing with the anime could not have been any better but I like that Eren and Armin are now wrecking Marley's shit, on top of freeing the island of mindless titans and liberating the Eldians within the walls[/sp] [editline]29th April 2017[/editline] this manga is really going places, I love it
Jojo never needs to be and shouldn't be live action
Part 2 as a duology would be a blast to be honest. In the end it's just more money and recognition to the franchise which I can't see the harm in.

However, one of the more substantial changes to the series' direction is that he was abandoned plans for an audience traumatizing ending. He had been thinking about something along the lines of the Frank Darabont adaptation Stephen King's The Mist, but response to the series, and especially his anime adaptation has left him unable take that path, and a bit lost. With all the support that the series has received, he didn't want to slam the fans with a traumatic conclusion.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/12/06-1/author-commands-on-changes-to-attack-on-titan-ending [editline]30th April 2017[/editline] So I looked up what the ending of "The Mist" was and Reddit, someone said: (The Mist spoilers if you actually want to read the book)
According to Wikipedia it was set to be a true horror/tragedy ending like The Mist by Stephen King. Spoiler for that film, [sp] it has some parallels with AoT in that the protagonists are fighting against and running from monsters. At the end, they hear monsters approaching and rather than face a gruesome death in the jaws of the monsters, they agree to have one of them shoot the others one by one, then finally off himself. After doing the deeds that man then walks out and challenges the monsters to take him in one final act of defiance, only for the namesake Mist to clear enough for him to see that the sound of monsters was in fact the army coming to rescue them. He realizes that they were literally moments away from being saved and had been running away from rescue for much of the story, and he collapses in paroxysms of agony.[/sp]
Or in the book: [sp] The book it was based on ended much more ambiguously. The protagonists make it out and drive for many miles but the mist is seemingly endless, and there don't appear to be any survivors. The main character half imagines that he hears the name of a nearby city that might be a safe zone on the radio, but the book pretty much just ends there.[/sp] I hope Isayama tells us what his original ending was at least because I'm far more interested in the original ending than what they're doing with the series right now.
i dont even know whats happening anymore, [sp]suddenly the scope is expanded and it feels like this is possibly the new thing the author was doing in response to the anime being a hit, i remember him saying something like he had to make a good ending now instead of what he was originally going to do.[/sp]
I don't think so [sp]everything we've seen since the very first chapter makes sense and is very nicely explained by what is currently happening in the story if we were at the point where Isayama changed things, there'd be some glaring plot holes[/sp] also what are you even confused about it's pretty easy to follow
i just watched kimi no na wa, and holy fucking shit dude, what a great movie. i went with my dad and, at the start, i was so embarrassed because of the girl grabbing her tits while her sister was watching at the very beginning of the movie all while i am able to see my father's judging face in my peripheral vision. so embarrassing. i don't want to know how it feels to go to the movie theater to watch a movie that your son wanted to watch and the first thing you see is that. but here's the most important part: my dad really, really, REALLY enjoyed it. he said he enjoyed every single bit of it. he even implied it was one of the, if not the, best movie he has ever watched. and he has watched a lot of movies, mostly bollywood movies. after it was finished, i asked him, "so do you like anime girls now?" after he expressed his joy for the movie. he replied, "yes, but other than that..." my curiosity turned my father into a weeb now. excellent. onto the movie; the story was very complex. when i arrived home afterward, i immediately googled an explanation for the story because i was desperate to understand the story because i felt the movie would be so much better if i understood it. even without understanding several confusing aspects of the plot, i could already give the movie at least an 8. it's that good. i think i understand the whole plot now, but i'm not sure. i will know for sure if i rewatch the movie. right now, kimi no na wa is at either a 9 or a 10. i suspect rewatching the movie will turn that 9 into a 10 to clarify on the confusing parts of the story. really really great movie either way. i understand that a lot of people in fa think the movie is garbage, but as the saying goes: i have shit taste so all my opinions are invalid. edit: couple kimi no na wa with 10/10 music and it's my favorite movie ever, even better than interstellar.
It wasn't a complex story at all though...?
It wasn't a complex story at all though...?
sorry, i should haven't said a complex story. it's basically a dude switching bodies with a girl and the dude realizes [sp]the girl died 3 years ago and drinks her spit to try to save everyone from the meteorite.[/sp] more like a story that isn't necessarily complex, but very deep, resulting in me having several questions on very specific parts. i understood the whole body switching thing, but what i really wanted to have more clarification on were the mechanisms at play and questions like "why did x happen and not y?" and arose. even my father admitted the story left his head spinning. the director of the movie said that he intended your name to "leave audience members confused but still entertained," (which is exactly what it did) so it's natural for me to have these questions. edit: i did some thinking and realized it's not really complex at all; i just had a few questions on some parts. that's it.
God damn this current Dragon Ball Super arc is great. Probably my favourite so far [editline]30th April 2017[/editline] Completely missed the DBS thread
ReCreators kind of forgot that you're supposed to make your characters interesting and engaging before having an entire episode of non-stop exposition dumping, twelve or so minutes of which is one character talking nearly uninterrupted. You could've shortened that speech to two or three minutes and lost nothing.
caught up with Seikaisuru Kado really interesting show don't see stuff like this every day
just watched space patrol luluco wow that show was a ride. v cute and the way it deals with all of triggerdom is pretty funny. im also a sucker for rule of cool and it had plenty of it
caught up with Seikaisuru Kado really interesting show don't see stuff like this every day
AOTS
Kado is just completely uninteresting to me, I don't hate it or anything and I certainly see the appeal of it, I don't even really know why it's not engaging me.
Hayate no Gotoku ended. RIP 13 years since the first chapter came out.
Hayate no Gotoku ended. RIP 13 years since the first chapter came out.
The ending is really disappointing imo
After reading the manga adaptation, Eromanga-sensei's Sagiri is actually a worse person than Umaru to the point I hate my avatar The anime is covering so much but I really really hope it stops after the first arc
