Always remember that your favourite manga isn't getting adapted because they have to make room for more deserving series, like smartphone isekai. This looks duller than watching paint dry. so AOTS confirmed edit: now that i think about it, it needs to also be set in a high school somehow
Started watching Slam Dunk , I'm completely in love with it. As a fan of shounen style sports anime, I feel ashamed to started watching this series only now. I hope to love it as much as Hajime no Ippo (my favorite sports anime).
Sucks that no studio is willing to do a fourth season yet for HNI. But the manga is so worth it. Morikawa really knows how to draw dynamic movements in fight scenes.

Despite being trasnported to a fantasy realm where you are near omnipotent and have some profound knowledge/skill, half the time there's some contrived reason for the MC to attend schooling. It's like the creator asked themselves, "how can I make this more generic?" and then wrote in a magical high school setting. Why not throw in a harem plot too? I can't wait for the isekai where a salaryman gets transported to some magical world only to find that he gets hired into some pencil pushing company. But it's themed around magical amulets or some shit.

If not in those, then in a web novel lurking in the corners of the Japanese Internet.

I'm not going to sit through six episodes of some knob messing around with his phone in a generic fantasy world. I have this problem with Re:Zero, I can't get into it on the promise of it getting good later. I can never trust that kind of statement anyway, "interesting" by LN standards is surprisingly lax.

Sure, it gets increasingly better as it goes on, but it's not like it sucked at the start or anything. The thing that gets to me the most about LN adaptions isn't just "it gets better later", it's the fact that "later" is not adapted. All of these LN adaptations shit out the start of the story and never adapt the rest because the publishing company already got their advertisement sales boost and feel no reason to finance another season. And they're all so long, at least by anime standards. Half the LNs that get anime adaptations would end up with episode counts rivaling Legend of the Galactic Heroes if you took the time to adapt the whole thing from beginning to end. The thing that gets to me the most about watching non-original anime is the fact that 80% of everything you watch is an incomplete story. I'm sick of watching the first ten minutes of the plot of a longer story that I can't read. If you're lucky, you'll get fan translations. If you're unlucky, Yen Press will license it and they'll catch up with the anime sometime after the heat death of the universe. I really appreciate full adaptations these days.

I have read like 250 chapters and this is pretty much an isekai slice of life with no tension or any significant events tbh, even those "big events" won't make you feel excited since[sp]the MC is literally a god[/sp].
well there's always some weird isekai like the one where the MC reincarnated into a vending machine
There's a variation on every possible isekai premise except for a scenario where the LN is well written.
shieldbro and mushoku tensei are pretty good imo
I really enjoyed reading Mushoku Tensei, it's not some power trip but a story of redemption and almost coming-of-age despite the main character being 30-something, probably because he was denied his childhood (edit: this is part of the premise - not spoilers, orkel!). The LN does have it's fair share of tropes and stuff that makes you roll your eyes, but the story itself is very nice. Also, both of their mangas are good too.
Man Re=L went from best girl candidate to worst girl real fucking fast in Akashic Records.
man I can't watch Nisekoi, I always end up feeling bad for Onodera

Hey, given that it comes from a Japanese video game series, and its animated, are we going to be talk about the Netflix Castlevania series in here? Trailer for it dropped today.
Hey, given that it comes from a Japanese video game series, and its animated, are we going to be talk about the Netflix Castlevania series in here? Looks cool though. It'll probably get its own thread when it releases.
Fireball season 3 holy shit what the fuck is going on
What is Fireball?
What is Fireball?
It's good, that's what it is. It's two seasons of two minute comedy, Fireball and Fireball Charming. It's also the only CG anime that knows how to direct an anime in 3D properly. Charming has more going on and significantly improved animation.
Well of course they know how to direct something in 3D, it's Disney. Also, 5th anniversary, wow. Didn't realize it was that long ago.
Well of course they know how to direct something in 3D, it's Disney. Also, 5th anniversary, wow. is there anything worth picking up 9 episodes in this season or should i just wait until next season bc i got busy and got bored of anime but now im ready to become a nerd again
is there anything worth picking up 9 episodes in this season or should i just wait until next season bc i got busy and got bored of anime but now im ready to become a nerd again
my hero academia and attack on titan are both really good and got second seasons this season
Seikaisuru Kado is really interesting and Tsuki ga Kirei has incredibly indecent handholding
my hero academia and attack on titan are both really good and got second seasons this season
Rage of bahamut: Virgin soul is good aswell and also season two.
I just watched the first half episode of Dragon Maid and I don't like it.
Rage of bahamut: Virgin soul is good aswell and also season two.
It's not bad or anything, but Virgin Soul's pacing has been pretty slow and it feels like it's stuck in a loop where the same three or four events keep happening over and over with slight progression. The status quo has been pretty rigid so far.
is there anything worth picking up 9 episodes in this season or should i just wait until next season bc i got busy and got bored of anime but now im ready to become a nerd again
Boku no Hero s2, Attack on Titan s2 are really good. Alice and Zoruko isn't that bad either imo but I'm usually not as picky as others. Not sure if you started it or not but Little Witch Academia is really fun, that's 20 episodes in. There's also Re:Creators and Rokudenashi which are alright.
is there anything worth picking up 9 episodes in this season or should i just wait until next season bc i got busy and got bored of anime but now im ready to become a nerd again
The only show I'd probably recommend for sure is Uchouten Kazoku's second season, and, well, its a second season. Kinda hard to recommend watching anything sequel related since its more or less how interested you were in the first seasons
