Then why didn't they make episode 2 THE EPISODE 2?
And even then, a show should be able to hook you on episode 1.
Because episode 2 is THE EPISODE 2. Episode 0 is side material. Episode 1 is episode 1.
Episode 1's question is "what's in the cube". Episode 2's answer is "okay here's what's in the cube". Episode 0 is about Shindo trying to stop a metalworking factory from being shut down so they can build a town hall over it. It's not the first episode because it's optional.
Episode 1 hooked me just fine even if episode 2 is where the interesting stuff starts happening. You should watch episode 2 and then tell me if you're interested or not instead of complaining that you don't find what the show is doing to be interesting. If you aren't interested after episode 2 then you should give up there because you clearly aren't going to find the show's concepts interesting.
There's a difference between a crap first episode and an episode you don't find interesting, the first episode is about building up to what you see in episode 2 because that's how TV shows work and a first episode is not a failure if it's not desperate to grab your attention by throwing everything it has at you right out of the gate. You are complaining about buildup instead of just watching the payoff. The "grab" is making you want to know what's going to happen in episode 2.
I was recommended Nichijou by a friend. Should I watch it?
Well I just finished it. Quite a few skits that had me in tears.
Anything else similar to this? Gintama is the only other comedy anime that has made me burst out laughing.

Daily lives of high school boys aka Nichibros, very similar to Nichijou.

I haven't been following this season, but wouldn't [sp]that screw up the whole basement reveal?[/sp]
Oh, I misread what you said about S3 never. Yeah....
I was wondering, about the first two Madoka movies, are they totally re-animated from the ground up, or are they basically just condensed versions of the series?
AoT's basement reveal will be fine.
loadsa manga spoilers [sp]anyone with half a brain cell could figure out that the serum Eren's dad used turned him into a titan. Them flashing the syringe while punting people off the dock wall won't make much difference, and anime watchers will assume that the dock drop is from a part of the actual wall. They also didn't provide any real context behind the mainland cult, so the entirety of the Eldin race, the explanation of the Ackerman SUPER MINORITIES, and the true origin of titans are still gigantic mysteries that have barely been touched upon. It's not like they showed off the mainland TITAN JEW FORCE 01 fighting in not-WW1.[/sp]
Besides, even without all that stuff, we still get the [sp]godlike gag where eren's key doesn't open the basement door.[/sp]

think again
(more big manga spoilers)
[sp]the eyecatch in the middle of the episode explicitly states that Ymir's hometown is somewhere far outside the Walls. The musketeers show that they are a highly advanced society.
but honestly, regardless of the 'size' of the reveal, it ruins a big part of the mystery surrounding the outside of the Walls, and who the enemy of the Eldians is.
in the manga, we practically knew nothing before chapter 86 hit us like a truck, and it was fucking amazing.[/sp]
A lot of it is hindsight bias but the fact that we practically knew nothing before the reveal was kinda the big payoff of getting to the basement.
[sp]Before the reveal we didn't know to what kind of existence humanity had outside of the walls. You can see that they are well equipped and have a completely different outfit than what the wall people have which kinda leads you to what kind of tech and society they have[/sp]
[sp]Before the reveal, people called Reiner and the Gang's hometown the Titan Village so yeah[/sp]
I can't wait for this season of Attack on Titan's soundtrack to be released. (July 6th I believe)

They pretty much took the series and re-used a ton of shots while making general quality improvements among other stuff. I felt the movies worked pretty well, and the overall quality is quite a bit higher than the show while still being pretty much the same.
2 original movies for Euphonium

except that [sp]"outside the walls"[ doesn't explicitly state "outside the island"[/sp] but I agree that the intermission card is a bit too much
SEASON 2 EPISODE 10 OF MY HERO ACADEMIA IS THE BEST EPISODE OF ANY ANIME I'VE WATCHED. LITERAL 10/10 100% TWO THUMBS-UP 5 STARS.
I actually go so excited I was tearing up.
I actually enjoyed this week's Re:Creators because unlike the rest of the cast Magane is interesting enough to hold a 15 minute conversation
Well it went from a 3-min short to 15-min series, I wonder if it'll get full episodes this time.
I enjoyed the 2 cour 15 min format tbh. I hope it continues
I love how the Evangelion combat theme plays six times throughout Shin Godzilla, yet [sp]never gets used during a combat sequence[/sp]

I think Magane is what happens when a character is reading the script and realises how stupid and contrived every one of her scenes is. She's unstoppable with the power of bad writing on her side.
She can be the most comically over the top hammy evil laughing at the people she's talking to and still have [sp]Alice completely 100% trust her because Alice is an absolute idiot and be nigh-invincible because people would rather sit around talking than actually attack her or chase her down during a fight.[/sp]
Just watched episode 11 of Erased. Holy shit fuck this shit oh my God that was the worst.
Finished it [sp]his friend is the true villain fuck that guy [/sp]
If you want my honest to god 2 cents on this SnK controversy, WIT handled it fairly well given what they had to work with. We probably won't live long enough to see a third or even fourth season, so they're just sneaking that in there in case plans of further sequels fall through. WIT's just playing it safe if you ask me.
If you want another of my two cents I don't think it really ruined much of anything at all, it's still very vague from of the point of a anime viewer. I can't offer to say anything else to say on this matter much. (very late manga spoilers dont bother even clicking this!)[sp]IF! and WHEN! WIT does get around to adapting the current arcs of the manga (or whichever studios inherits SnK from them)/isayama will have to come up with something new for the letter Historia reads later on, however.[/sp]
At least this scene was pretty.

Yeah as somebody who has read zero of the manga, I saw people posting all this stuff about how episode 10 was so full of bombshells, so I watched it, and I still have no idea what the fuck is going on.
It had me thinking that if THIS episode's content counts as "major reveals" then I am extremely pessimistic about the rest of the series answering absolutely anything at all about its own plot.
Aww I made the mistake of watching anime while in a bad mood
I can tell that the latest Hero Academia was supposed to hype as fuck but it was just kinda lost on me and it turned into a 20 minute staring contest with the screen
I really fell out of love with Attack on Titan after it went through the whole politics thing, since it was so slow, and reading it as that updated was horrible, but i went back to read it again, and watched that new season
it can be pretty damn cool sometimes when shit actually happens
it's like watching/reading a [sp]mecha but instead of mechs they're piloting people[/sp]
