You should probably tag that.
Aww I made the mistake of watching anime while in a bad mood
I can tell that the latest Hero Academia was supposed to hype as fuck but it was just kinda lost on me and it turned into a 20 minute staring contest with the screen
Frankly that's how I felt after 3 episodes of the first season, so I just stopped watching it. I've never cared for superheroes, so the show always seemed dull and unappealing to me. I watched One Punch Man because of the hype, but honestly I didn't find it to be as amazing as everyone keeps saying it was. It was just... Okay. It was nothing special. To me, it was just another superhero show that was funny enough to keep me watching.
And when I say I've never given a shit about superheroes I mean from any culture. Batman, Spiderman, Superman, The Avengers. Like, I've watched shit involving them, and some of it was entertaining, but I've never cared about any of them. The best "superhero" movie I've ever watched was Deadpool, and that's because he's not really a superhero.

woops forgot
As an anime-only scrub that single throwaway line about [sp]Ymir roaming as a titan for 60 years[/sp] fuckin threw me for a loop and introduced a ton of new questions about [sp]shifters[/sp]
LWA Tv Exists on netflix now as its own square, its just that you can't play any of it

Newest episode of Little Witch (22) threw me for a loop. That was honestly a twist I wasn't expecting.

I noticed this about a week ago, I went looking for it and thought my app was stuck on loading, before i found out that it wasn't yet out on Netflix.

That aspect, along with the very early revelation that [sp]Eren is a titan[/sp] really ruin any real opportunity the show had to be one of the all time greats. Instead of a story about [sp]humans fighting these abominations, desperate for survival and showing the relationships between each soldier[/sp] it becomes typical anime bullshit.
[editline]5th June 2017[/editline]
Started watching Clannad for the first time, up to episode 15. That Kotomi arc was a lot lesser than the Fuko-chan one. She just doesn't feel like a real character. She's one of the smartest mother fuckers in the school to the point where she doesn't need to attend class, but acts like a fucking ditz most of the time. Fuko-chan had this all the time, but it could be explained as her being still a kid. Okazaki really didn't need to narrate things that were already apparent on screen during his flashback in episode 14. It was also really corny when they [sp]show the case being passed from country to country. It would've been far more effective to show a small clip at the beginning of each of her episodes showing the case with the bear changing hands.[/sp] I also INCREDIBLY dislike that [sp]Fuko was used as comic relief for the crane machine. Very bad taste, her arc was closed and they didn't need to bring her into a useless cameo.[/sp] Otherwise it's decent-great stuff here. Teared up four times so far, once when [sp]they mention Kotomi's parents threw out their thesis in favor of putting Kotomi's bear in the case[/sp].

haha why do people still say this dumb shit?
please explain to me how 100 chapters of Scouting Legion killing mindless Titans would produce any kind of interesting story
it would literally be [sp]the Trost arc (one of the most hated story arcs in the whole manga, mind you)[/sp] stretched to 100+ chapters
^Because it is infinitely more interesting to relate to humans who are just trying to survive in a world gone mad than the bullshit they decided to go with instead. What they did instead feels like a lesser retread of various motifs and themes from Neon Genesis Evangelion. What, do you also dislike the film Full Metal Jacket which also follows a group of young men from training to battle? The Thin Red Line? Platoon? These are great stories about people trying to survive in dangerous situations using only their own bodies and wits, giving us insight into what people fight for, and the strong bonds formed between them. Not anime bullshit.
What's wrong with the battle of Trost? Why are you bringing up the notion that it is hated without any qualifying statements? If you wanna get into this, get into it. Don't half ass it because then we can't have any discussion.
having a discussion with somebody who has pretty much not read the manga is completely pointless
if you had any clue what you were talking about, you'd know that [sp]titanshifters and "survival in a world gone mad/wartime story/relatable characters" are not mutually exclusive, at all[/sp]
it's not some [sp]instantly-defeat-everything power whatsoever, and for the record, they're literally fighting a war against a different nation. your dumb assertion gets steamrolled by even the latest chapters where we see the other side of the war, along with all the camaraderie and hardship that goes along with it.[/sp] (big manga spoilers)
^So in other words this exchange is completely pointless and all you had to say in your first post was "it sounds like you haven't caught up to the latest chapters of the manga, you oughta give it a gander. It'll make you revise the assertions you made about the series." Neat. By the way you still haven't clarified what is wrong with the battle of Trost.
I think [sp]shifters and everything they entail[/sp] add a well-needed layer of depth to the plot and setting because without them Attack on Titan would kind of just be a zombie anime except the zombies are large naked men
I just finished watching Flying Witch and it was really refreshing. Such a relaxing anime.
If you haven't seen it yet and you want something nice to watch, it's worth checking out.

yeah, this is also a good point
if you want a good wartime manga without [sp]titanshifters/other fantasy elements[/sp], then read Groundless: Sekigan no Sogekihei
let Shingeki no Kyojin be its own thing, because it's good at what it is
I can't believe people actually take AoT this seriously. Everything went down hill when they started [sp]making everyone a titan[/sp] and same goes with the basement reveal
So should I watch the most recent episode of AoT/SnK or not?
So should I watch the most recent episode of AoT/SnK or not?
yes?????????
yes?????????
I think he's wary of manga readers saying that it adapted some content that wasn't from that arc of the manga at all

i mean the anime looks pretty damn cool even if you think its dumb or not

He was talking about the newest episode, not the anime as a whole :v:

Ah alrighty thank you guys. This latest re-watch was a bit disappointing since my friend I was showing it to didn't like any of the characters and thought some of the twists were dumb but what can you do right?
