What should I watch next guys? I was thinking of Konasuba or The Daily lives of highschool boys
Regarding the latest episode of SnK: as a non-manga reader who hasn't been spoiled about anything, I didn't think [sp]revealing that Ymir was some sort of titan-transforming cult leader[/sp] was much of a shocker? Was that the big reveal? Or did I miss something?

Yes, that was the big reveal. Its significance is (major manga spoilers) [sp]that the cult is not from their country.[/sp] Way too many of the manga readers are experiencing hindsight bias despite there not being enough info or context present in those scenes to actually give away major plot points.

Wait did DEEN do a better job on Konasuba then they did on F/SN?
Thank you guys! I'll check out both

Yes
Though doing a better job than F/SN isn't saying much

Ah alrighty then thank you!
Re:Creators is a bit frustrating to watch. It's got a great concept and decent characters and visuals but at the same time I can't help thinking it could be written better. Some parts are more boring than it should be but just when I think it's going to stay that way something interesting happens that keeps me hooked. It feels like my enjoyment is swinging back on forth on a rope.
I don't know if I would recommend it at this stage. Maybe once the whole thing is completed?

I couldn't recommend it to anybody at all. The characters are either garbage or paper thin and undeveloped and have little screentime, nearly every episode is twenty minutes of talking heads and exposition dumps, and there's an complete lack of using their premise effectively in the slightest. The only character arc they've done competently is so utterly simple and basic that a child could've gotten it right. The fights scenes have been limp at best and the music is Sawano at his worst, alternating between unmemorable in most scenes to the point that there might as well be no music at all, and over the top and overdramatic during the few fight scenes the show has.
The plot as it is right now relies on a combination of constant contrivances and bad fight scenes. I can't see the show going anywhere fast.

The plot as it is right now relies on a combination of constant contrivances and bad fight scenes. I can't see the show going anywhere fast. The only noticeable improvement I could give it is that Magane was strangely consistently animated last episode, which is a change from most scenes in this series being static shots to conserve animation. Dunno if it'll stick, but she was constantly moving as she hammed it up for the majority of the episode.
I'm starting to think half my enjoyment with the show is me discussing it (read: shitposting) it with other people (read: mostly /a/). Still, I don't think it's bad--just that it could be better (which I suppose is already a pretty damning criticism). I think I'll stick with it just because it's anime original and we don't get a lot of those these days.
Anyone who thinks it's a classic is probably delusional tho

I want this bad, but I'd also never use it.

The problem is that Re:creators just boring and the plot just doesn't have any momentum. It's 9 episodes in and they've only just introduced the characters (with marginal characterisation) and done one major plot thing. It doesn't help that the main character basically doesn't have anything to do yet but the story still takes time to bring everything to a halt to remind us that he is the MC. All the show had to do to be better was just remove the MC and focus on the interesting characters that can do stuff. Make Silesia's creator the MC and have it be Fate/Zero with cliche light novel characters like it was always meant to be. I have a feeling that there just wasn't enough animation budget to give more fight scenes. As a result we have all the bad parts of Black Laggoon (the half-baked philosphy and sophistry) and none of the good (the action/violence).

reading Blame!
incredible manga
I personally like Re:Creators. It's more like a guilty pleasure though.
I'm pretty excited for Fate/Extra getting an anime since Nameless Hero is in it but what's up with Fate/A? I've heard everyone hates it
I've been reading Berserk, and I'm up to about volume 32. Does it ever get as good as the golden age arc again? Because right now the plot seems to boil down to [sp]Guts and Casca and a gang of way-less-interesting characters are trying to reach the elf country, but they have to fight 50 billion pointless monsters along the way[/sp] and it's getting pretty tiring, honestly.
Does there come a point where the story actually starts moving again, or is it going to maintain this snail's pace forever?

This is Berserk, of course it's going to stay on that pace forever. And I hope you're ready for some hiatus, my friend, because there's quite a lot!
So welcome aboard!

The golden age arc was so good though! Great characters like judeau, pippin, even that asshole corkus was interesting. The story progressed at a reasonable pace, most of the fight scenes mattered, and real shit happened between all the characters.
I fucking despise isidro and puck. Puck could be ok if he didn't just constantly spout pop culture references and comic relief lines. Nothing interesting is done with farnese and serpico, they're just kind of there. Schierke is ok.
Even [sp]Griffith[/sp] is boring now. He just exists as this impossible-to-reach Big Bad with a stagnant character arc. He was an intereting character because [sp]he was willing to throw away his humanity for the sake of his obsessive ambition, but now that he's DONE THAT and is some kind of supernatural god emperor, he's just kind of there lurking in the back, and has no compelling character traits[/sp]
It did make Guts' quest on revenge more interesting because Griffith's actions have led to [sp]world peace between nations. This kind of makes it very hard to actually take revenge on him as he did something that no one else has achieved. He's pretty much the "Jesus" of that world.[/sp]
We also have not seen the aftermath of the [sp]fantasy arc yet. All the imaginary creatures invading the whole world. We haven't seen much of that yet.[/sp]

When Berserk got out of that one period it made me realize that seven years had passed since the start and also a whole of manga readers had probably died during that time as well.
In other news Kakegurui is pretty damn good.
I'm sick of baseball anime, help.

Started watching Atom. Seems alright.
Should probably be doing some work instead of watching anime though.

I bought two master edition volumes, they're pretty amazing
This week's SaeKano has angered me in a way only NTR has in the past. [sp]I mean, "corporate" NTR is basically what happened, so it makes sense.[/sp]

they released the second one. enjoy
Shuumatsu Long Title brings up a genuinely interesting character and scenario with how [sp]Ithea is actually somebody who already suffered mental degradation to the point where her original personality died, and the current Ithea is a completely new person who woke up in her body and has been pretending to be the original ever since[/sp] and proceeds to completely ignore it and give us no details beyond that so that they can give the world's dullest main character more screentime.
Shows having good ideas and deliberately shoving them aside annoys me more than if they had no good ideas to begin with. Some of the current plot could be good if the handling wasn't a combination of mishandling, ineffective storytelling, and Ctholly being incredibly boring so I couldn't give less of a shit about anything that happens to her. The show keeps going "oh yeah bad things are happening i swear" without conveying it properly or showing any of the effects, and the effects they do try to show are underwhelming.
