reading Blame! incredible manga
Fucking yes. Rereading it lately, such a beautiful work. Be sure to read Biomega when you get the chance. [editline]9th June 2017[/editline]
The golden age arc was so good though! Great characters like judeau, pippin, even that asshole corkus was interesting. The story progressed at a reasonable pace, most of the fight scenes mattered, and real shit happened between all the characters. I fucking despise isidro and puck. Puck could be ok if he didn't just constantly spout pop culture references and comic relief lines. Nothing interesting is done with farnese and serpico, they're just kind of there. Schierke is ok. Even [sp]Griffith[/sp] is boring now. He just exists as this impossible-to-reach Big Bad with a stagnant character arc. He was an intereting character because [sp]he was willing to throw away his humanity for the sake of his obsessive ambition, but now that he's DONE THAT and is some kind of supernatural god emperor, he's just kind of there lurking in the back, and has no compelling character traits[/sp]
There's a new dynamic with Griffith and Guts. See Antimuffin's post beneath yours. It's a very interesting development. It's been years since I read Berserk, I left off on chapter 300 myself, but Farnese and Serpico had a very interesting relationship, past, and development if I recall. What are your issues with them? [editline]9th June 2017[/editline] Just finished episode 22 of Clannad. Can somebody more versed with the show tell me the thematic significance of [sp]Nagisa's play? I know we've been seeing it at the beginning of almost each episode, and I thought it was building up to something relevant to Nagisa, or the town where all the characters live. But it just ends with the girl and the doll leaving the grasslands they live in in search of a new life.[/sp] It was also really lame that [sp]we never actually see Nagisa write the script for the play, or see her perform it in its entirety. The payoff for this shit would've been enormous. We don't see her struggle to write, or act. We see the struggle of getting the club off the ground, yes. But that's due to the help of other people. I was really waiting for Nagisa's moment to put her shit into the club after everyone else has, but those big moments happen offscreen. Her father talks about how parents are there to sacrifice so their children's dreams come true, but I never got the impression that doing the play was Nagisa's dream. It was just kind of something she wanted to do.[/sp] Still a good show.
What the fuck did I just watched?
the second one of these

I don't know how spoilery the stuff I have to talk about really is, but I think I'm gonna tag it just to be safe. [sp]Serpico right now basically exists as another body to be around and fight monsters. Farnese basically exists to be Casca's caretaker. There's a brief subplot where Farnese is going to leave the group to get engaged to some foreign lord, and Guts' whole motivation for trying to get her back was literally "We need someone to take care of Casca and cook for us, I guess." So the main plot got sidelined while they went off to do that. When Serpico tried to stop them from taking her back, I was briefly reminded of the duel between Guts and Griffith when Guts wanted to leave the Band of the Hawk. But the emotional weight of each scene is just incomparable. The Guts/Griffith duel was such an intense moment, driven by really strong feelings in each character. The Guts/Serpico duel might have been intense on Serpico's side, but all it ends up boiling down to is "Guts wants somebody to babysit Casca, and Guts is the best fighter, so let's just move past this duel and not spur any kind of change in either character." And in the end, this whole "engagement" subplot turns out to be nothing, because Farnese actually doesn't want to get engaged, and the guy she's engaged to is totally fine with this turn of events. Time to leave town and fight a bunch more monsters.[/sp]
Seikaisuru Kado 09 ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
What the fuck happened in Seikaisuru Kado 09? [sp]Oh you won't go with me? I made a terrible mistake, let me kill you and replace you with a clone that has memories before I asked the question. Oh and the other negotiator chick is also an anisotropic being just in case.[/sp]
Just finished watching Ayakashi Japanese Classic Horror. First arc is pretty interesting. My least favorite is the second one (more likely a fairy tale romance instead of horror) Third arc is my favorite one. Also, the OP are really damn awesome.

Seikasuru Kado just went full Strugatsky brothers.

A lot less weight to things happening considering you just know Isidoro is never going to have anything happen to him. Someone once explained to me that these new characters are Guts allowing himself to open up to people again, but I haven't read it in such a while that I can't really say how true appropriate that is.
why tho
They found a way to make money with only two hours of work a week. Why not?
So Bahamut s2 is gonna be 24 episodes, was worried for a moment that aots candidate might end soon. It's amazing how wrong i was when s1 was first announced, that it was an adaptation of a mobage. No way expectations can be high after hearing that.
apparently One Piece is currently 65-70% done that means we have around 372-467 chapters left

And Hollywood still can't make a decent movie based off of a AAA game.
I really want to watch Training of the Dead OVA from Boku n Hero Academia mostly because of Tsuyu's precious friend.
Shit, Cygames is only 6 years old as well.

But I don't get the feeling that it's actually happening. It didn't take long to warm up to the characters in the band of the hawk because they took an interest in Guts himself for various reasons, and actually tried to help him emotionally now and then, or at least challenge him emotionally. If there's any such motivation in the newer characters, they never act on it, and instead they all seem to be about what they can personally gain from following Guts, or they just do it out of obligation. Which would be FINE if the manga addressed or acknowledged that once in a while and did something with it, but so often I just feel like most of the characters do nothing but fill up the panels.
apparently One Piece is currently 65-70% done that means we have around 372-467 chapters left
That was back in mid 2016 with 65%iirc. It's probably now at 70%, Oda doesn't exactly lay out definite numbers when it comes to the series future so it's probably going to change. My guess would be chapter 1200-1300 approximately with the series going about 9-10 years from now.

YES! YES! YES! This is what I asked for.
So I'm going through Ben-to. I'm liking it so far, barring a couple of really "odd" characters.
Just started watching Mushishi Watched 2 episode and i already loved it. I can see Ginko closely resemble Medicine Seller from Mononoke
mushishi owns. great show to watch before going to bed with a cup of tea
This week's SaeKano has angered me in a way only NTR has in the past. [sp]I mean, "corporate" NTR is basically what happened, so it makes sense.[/sp]
Wait until next episode or the next, you and everyone else will probably hate Saekano almost as much as yahari s2. [editline]10th June 2017[/editline] oh its going for anime original stuff so maybe not
Mushishi is so fucking good. I almost shit myself recently when i realised i actually had two more episodes until i finished zoku shou, instead of finishing it off like i thought.
Latest episode of Re:Creators was pretty damn hype. Very solid episode IMO.
SnK s2ep11 / ep36: WIT really nailed [sp]Mikasa's "no room in my heart to care" scene[/sp] so damn well they might as well have overdone it. I love WIT, I can forgive them for all their shortcomings now.
Really sad to see how bad Berserk 2016/17 has turned out. Beyond episode 8 shockingly bad animation ep9 was better, but the pacing of this series is its own worst enemy.
Imagine if Berserk 16/17 was done by the same studio that did the golden age trilogy. I really love the artstyle even when they used some cheap CGI in some places.
I feel like a proper Berserk anime that looks like the manga would take up half of Japan's entire budget
