Be gone vile blasphemous venom film you aren't even MCU
i saw Thor last night PROBABLY my favourite MCU film (it needs more time to digest I think). It was REALLY funny, really really funny. I'd say it was a comedy with some action scenes rather than an action/adventure film with some comedy scenes (like GOTG). This film has Taika Waititi written all over it, and [sp] Korg, the character Taika voices, has the best lines. "Piss off, ghost!" got a huge laugh in my showing [/sp]. While the film is funny it deals with some serious themes too, but never feels bogged down or cliche. The way it handles [sp] Loki and his eventual 'redemption' (well he obviously steals the Tesseract but that was just so it was off Asgard after it was destroyed) was great [/sp]. Hemsworth, Hiddleston and Ruffalo are really really funny. Hulk is great. Banner is great. Even Anthony Hopkins has a chance to be funny right at the beginning. Immigrant Song wasn't just a trailer song.
Well the comics thread is a dead corpse and I'm not about to dig it up but seeing how this is semi-related I wanted to get my "Fuck off forever and all time, Dan Slott." in for the day. [t]https://i.imgur.com/FJlLWQB.jpg[/t]
just saw Thor in IMAX it was dope

[t]https://i.imgur.com/FJlLWQB.jpg[/t]
Did Dan Slott just retcon Shalla-Bal in favor of pushing his "look how quirky I am" hipster Doctor Who companion OC waifu? I didn't think I could honestly feel more contempt for that man but damn if he doesn't have a knack for surpassing my expectations in the worst possible way.
the soundtrack is just pure retro electronic sex [sp]love the fact they actually brought back the theme from the first thor too[/sp]
Do they use that hotline miami song in the movie, or was it just for the trailer?
Just saw Thor, easily one of the better MCU films. A friend of mine got his first movie credit [sp]he's proud of[/sp] working on the special effects. They were working on them right up until the premiere.
Is your friend from NZ? I heard most of the team who worked on it worked on Taika''s previous films
Nah, Rising Sun Pictures in Adelaide.
Is that the friend that's also a member here? I remember someone mentioning their effects being in a trailer
Pretty sure my friend isn't here. He's in the modelling department if you meant effects and not SFX in general. A whole load of companies worked on Thor's SFX.
Just saw Thor and that was definitely one of their better movies. Lost my shit when [sp]Bruce jumped off the orgy ship and fucking died[/sp] :v:
Just saw Thor and that was definitely one of their better movies. Lost my shit when [sp]Bruce jumped off the orgy ship and fucking died[/sp] :v:
Yeah it might be my favourite Marvel film, the [sp] snake story had my laughing out loud [/sp]
Finally a really good Thor movie. I thought I recognised the woman who played Topez:

They are shopping it around according to the article. I could see it ending up as an exclusive on Disney’s streaming service though.
It's going to take a lot for Infinity war to be better than Thor 3, especially with that hero clusterfuck.
Holy shit Ragnarok was good. I can't say I was ever excited for a Thor movie, but this really set the bar high for the upcoming films.
Thor Ragnarok was absolutely fantastic.
Was there ever an explanation why [sp]Lady Sif wasn’t in the movie? Her missing kinda threw me off.[/sp]
[sp]So she can be around later and not be dead.[/sp] also actress was working on another project at the time of filming
not that I really care but the [sp] warriors three were killed off so damn quick[/sp] I wasn't even sure it was them at first. I guess this is to help the transition to a new era of thor
I like how Hela just pretty much quickly killed [sp]all of Thor's friends (save for Sif) and Karl Urban[/sp]. I don't think Idris Elba will get killed anytime soon cause he's a rising star anyway.
Considering what color his eyes are and his (non)level of attachment to the "series", I think you're overestimating the length of time he'll be around.
Just saw Thor, and I've got to say my favorite comedy bit was[sp]the asgardian play where the film basically shits all over The Dark World.[/sp]I mean, I liked the previous film for what it was, but it definitely qualities as a guilty pleasure, especially now that Ragnarok proves a good Thor film is actually possible.
I got the impression that Natalie Portman didn't like being in the Marvel movies all that much? [sp]Haven't seen Ragnarok yet so I don't know if she show's up at all.[/sp]
I have a weird feeling Jane Foster is going to return as the female Thor.
Doubtful, or at least she'll be recast to be played by someone else. If anything, use Thunderstrike or Beta Ray Bill.
I have a weird feeling Jane Foster is going to return as the female Thor.
I get a really distinct impression Kevin Feige isnt fond of what Marvel's been doing as of late.
