The suspense is killing me.

So I'd wager Marvel doesn't know for sure if the Fox deal is going to happen (as opposed to knowing and hiding it), so I wonder: what's the plan for the future of the MCU of the deal doesn't happen? Like, they probably had a Civil War script in case the Sony deal fell through, right?
I think if the deal does happen, it's pretty obvious they're going to base the future around newer Avengers like Spider-Man and their aquisitions (F4?)

Big Kev said they had movies planned out to 2020 a few years back.

Given how Spiderman really has no impact on the plot of Civil War, I would assume they "had a script in case the Sony deal made it through".

You properly seen this already, but repost. Rate late and dumb if you agree.

Wasn't Groot supposed to be full sized for IW?
Cap looks like big boss without an eyepatch

[sp]Or Fury can share one of his spares[/sp]
I am hoping that [sp]Loki dies in Infinity War, in such a way that really redeems his character from the past. He didn't really do that in Ragnarok, just sort of "went with the flow" it feels.[/sp]

Nah the GotG2 post-credit was with Teen Groot modern day since GotG Vol 2 was only set a couple of months after GotG

I like his character how he is now, he isn't a straight up villain like in the first couple of films he was in but they still can't really rely on him or trust him even when he is helping. I don't think he needs to redeem himself.

I’ve always felt that he would be the [sp]Revolver Ocelot of the series, siding with Thanos only to destroy him later.[/sp]
http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/906499-avengers-infinity-war-now-the-most-watched-trailer-of-all-time
Infinity War trailer is (not surprisingly) the new most watched trailer of all time, totaling "230 million views in 24 hours" god damn (previous record holder was It, with 197 million in 24 hours)
Loki was the most interesting part of Ragnarok, just because [sp]he had that wonderful moment where Thor basically called him on his pseudo-intellectual shit and pointed out how, despite being so fucking clever, all he's basically been is either a bootlicker or an inmate while Thor's saved the earth, ascended to the throne, and presumably slayed a literal ton of gash in the interim.[/sp]
So you get that great moment where Loki realizes that [sp]if he wants to feed his ego and become "great", maybe being a prick isn't the best way to do it; no one trusts him and because of that he's become predictable. So you get him helping out at the end, but only because it's an easier/more efficient route to the power he craves.[/sp]
It's kinda like [sp]Doctor Doom; at the end of the day, he's an evil megalomaniac. But he'll still do right by his people to justify his desire to be in control. Just so that he can point to all of his happy subjects and be like "SEE? THEY LOVE ME. SO I SHOULD RULE EVERYTHING."[/sp]
[editline]30th November 2017[/editline]
Unrelated note, when are they gonna stop jerking us around and give Thanos a hat already. If he's just a big bald man who punches people super hard because he wants "power", I'm gonna be way disappointed. Also Lady Death. I demand skele-tits.
I feel violated seeing thanos without his hat

I think I saw a video interview where they mentioned it was a creative choice to show how Thanos didn't need his helmet or other armor when he had the power of the stones.
Is it just me or does Thor look like a much younger Ron Pearlman with that beard/haircut combo.

I hate that though.
Like, in that case why not just put him in his boxers. Or naked. A guy who isn't afraid of Hulk punching his exposed dick must be a pretty tough dude.
I wonder when (if at all) Hollywood will realize no one wants an adaptation where the thing they came to see only looks/acts like the thing they came to see during the climax.

It took us fifteen years to have a Spider-Man movie where he's able to keep his mask on for more than two minutes at a time, these things make slow progress.
I don't think it's that though. I mean, they weren't afraid that the audience won't "get" Vision, and he's super weird.
I almost feel like it's the filmmaker's ego at work. Like, the feeling that if they just do what's in the comic, they aren't doing their job as a creator.
Which I can understand and sympathize with, but frankly I'd have a lot more respect for a filmmaker who can say "okay, I love the source material, and that's why my vision is gonna be super close aesthetically and spiritually, but be 100% me when it comes to everything that makes this film a film".
There's a really good video essay on this kinda thing regarding Zack Snyder's Watchmen:

"Zack Snyder wanted his costume to be a parody of the rubber batsuit from Batman and Robin... so there's a sacrifice of authenticity for an inside joke."

Alternatively, you can totally just say fuck it and do your own thing (see Gunn with Guardians) as long as your thing is totally excellent on its own.
Straying from the source material to "make your mark" but then relying on established iconography as a crutch when you've got no other tricks to go off of (see ASM2 trying to earn brownie points by putting Emma Stone in the green coat and killing her off) just seems really disingenuous and hack-y.

He wants to impress Death :^)
funny thing, i thoroughly enjoyed watchmen when i saw it, because i thought it was more self-aware than it was. all of the really dumb shit that zack snyder inserted into the story made me go "haha this has to be ironic! this snyder guy is hilarious"
little did i know
That was a great season opener for SHIELD

You must be amazing at foreplay.
would it be silly to assume that [sp]maybe thanos will go full costume for his final showdown along with all the heroes[/sp]
Prolly when he's chatting up his certain lady friend.
That was a great season opener for SHIELD
It was okay. I liked the big reveal about where they were, and why it is, but the rest of the episode was heavy on filler and light on plot, IMO.

Are you implying I wouldn't wear a Thanos hat right from the get-go?
You think I want to catch something?
I noticed a detail in the Infinity War Trailer
[sp]When Thanos punches Iron Man, you can see a fairly decent chunk of metal flying off[/sp]
i'm trying not to let the hype speak for me, but i just started on the punisher and i think this might have the best directing of all the marvel shows
these always have their ups and downs though, so i wonder if i'll still think the same way when i'm done
