I never got around to watching AoS past the pilot, didn't it turn out to be disappointing for a while?
The first 6 episodes are cookie-cutter "we saved the day" episodes. After that, they actually get into the main storyline of the show and it gets better.
I just realised that for as much as I dislike Fox's treatment of the X-Men outside of FC, they're producing the Cape media I'm looking forward to most, Logan and Legion(technically FX). I think I might try and take a year long break from following and watching everything after those 2 so I can try and withhold on personal Cape fatigue.
I never got around to watching AoS past the pilot, didn't it turn out to be disappointing for a while?
might as well start from episode 6
The first 6 episodes are cookie-cutter "we saved the day" episodes. After that, they actually get into the main storyline of the show and it gets better.
So thats the feeling I had with it... It really did pick up after that.
I don't think there's really anything worth watching in the first 6 episodes other than the pilot episode just to know who the characters are and how they're starting in the show. There's not even much character development in the beginning.
episode 6 is almost nothing but character development (just rewatched it). it's the one [sp]where simmons has a chitauri virus and jumps off a plane[/sp]
[t]http://i.imgur.com/nK5maEB.jpg[/t]
This fucking movie is going to make me tear up in the theater.
One question, is Logan in the same timeline as X-Men?
Yes.
One question, is Logan in the same timeline as X-Men?
Unconfirmed but
Man, fuck trying to figure out what's canon and what's not now after DoFP, outside of FC, DoFP and AoA. Just try and enjoy it as it's own film
Hopefully they explain it in-film

[editline]22nd October 2016[/editline]
yeah but seeing all the non-regular AOS watchers in this thread making glowing reviews about season 4 is kinda making me want to watch it again, and thats saying a lot
I started watching this summer, after finishing Arrow/Flash/Supergirl episodes that were released at that time and after someone recommending it to me on reddit when I expressed how godawful Arrow's season 4 was. I can't watch those shows with the same desire anymore because they feel unbelievably inferior to AOS in quite literaly every aspect. It's not that they're bad. AOS is just a million times better. You can see a disturbing ammount of quality and effort put into it, that makes those other shows pale in comparison and feel like third rate stuff that was put together with a few gopros.
I could write out a wall text regarding AoS versus Flash and LOT, but I think just a plain "ahahaaha, fuck no" will do, especially considering the general consensus of both thread and ratings in general thereof.
How come Logan suddenly ages, despite being "roughly" the same age for such a long time.
If "The Wolverine" is still canon, the magic old man samurai guy drained some of his regeneration power, if I remember correctly. or it'll just be explained in the movie somehow.
Logan ages, just really slowly.
Tim Miller won't be directing Deadpool 2 due to creative differences between him and Reynolds
Fuck.
Logan ages, just really slowly.
The new film is apparently only set a year after Days of Future Past left off, so 2024. It really doesn't make sense for Logan or Prof X to appear as old as they do, but I'm certain that it'll be explained in movie. My guess would be that there is some kind of virus that decimates the mutant population.

You're probably right.
The departure was “amicable,” a studio source said, though we’ve heard elsewhere that Reynolds and Miller have had a contentious relationship for quite a while now. The two haven’t had much of a relationship since the first “Deadpool” was released, not even speaking for long periods of time. So, what happened to create such a rift between Miller and the actor whose career he helped resurrect? We’re told the director was all set to make the sequel, which still doesn’t even have a release date. That’s allegedly in part because when Reynolds’ agents renegotiated his deal, along with a massive amount of money, the star got casting approval and other creative controls. That whole process took more time than Miller (and fans) would have liked, and it shined a spotlight on differences in vision between the two key players. Miller, who owns a visual effects studio and we’re told did much of the polishing work on the original “Deadpool” for free, wanted more of a stylized sequel, while the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating. The casting issue also eventually came to a head over the possible booking of Kyle Chandler in the sequel. Mashable movie reporter Jeff Sneider first reported Chandler’s potential involvement with the “Deadpool” sequel during a “Meet the Movie Press” podcast, saying that the actor’s name has been “floating around for Cable for months.” The insider close to the situation tells TheWrap that Miller wanted the “Bloodline” star to play Cable, though Reynolds did not and that the studio, ultimately, backed its marketable star.
TheWrap Well I guess that kills that.
Is it common for the lead actor to request casting approval in movies? I wonder what the other creative controls are. Sucks that Miller is gone, but they can find a different director easier than replacing Deadpool imo.
Is it common for the lead actor to request casting approval in movies? I wonder what the other creative controls are.
Typically no, but Deadpool was always lead by Ryan, even if he wasn't directing
I think that's a bit of a weird thing to say considering how little we know about what was going on behind the scenes. I know Reynolds always showed a lot of support for the film, and is pretty much the definitive face of the character now, but I wouldn't write off the director so quickly. It might just be because the article from TheWrap was slanted against Reynolds, but I can't help but feel for Miller, basically being ousted due to Reynolds' star power. I especially find it worrying for Deadpool 2 because if anything, Deadpool doesn't need more comedy. It was a strength in the first film but not every joke landed and the absolutely piss poor villain really dragged the film down IMO. Now I don't know anything for certain, but if Deadpool 2 is more of the same because Reynold's interpretation of the character is arbitrarily held above everybody else's, it won't be very good.
fyi strange is currently on 100% with 15 reviews and it drops over here tomorrow
Apparently it got up to 18 or 22 before there was a negative critic. Civil War got up to 17 before someone posted it. Forbes writer apparently compared it to Green Lantern :v: Guess he's not into the whole mystical comic book stuff.
Forbes writer apparently compared it to Green Lantern :v:.
Did they even go to the movie?
Nah it's not confirmed, I'm just saying the season where they're consistently good instead of all over the damn place will of course be the cancellation season.
Of course. Just like Mystery Science Theater 3000. Except MST3K got cancelled twice.
just managed to catch doctor strange at the IMAX before my lecture today and it didnt disappoint. some immediate thoughts - it's largely successful due to the visuals, which genuinely I have never seen anything like in a film berore. incredibly creative and psychedelic action sequences and some terrifying extra dimensional concepts. some of the most accurate LSD like imagery put to screen. the plot is basic but the characters and performances carry it well. another win for marvel, there is literally no comparison to the creativity in this film to something like suicide squad. also the implication of the first after credits sequence is that [sp]strange is gonna be in thor ragnarok.[/sp] check this film out on the biggest screen you can, the 3D also actually enhances the experience here.
you UK lads are lucky. I can't wait to see the movie with my dad, he REALLY loves dr strange.
also the implication of the first after credits sequence is that [sp]strange is gonna be in thor ragnarok.[/sp]
That will be interesting for sure, if it does turn out to be hinting at what you describe. [sp]Sounds neat that Marvel is working in all these extra heroes appearing in Ragnarok. Actually, it also reminds me of those older rumors about Hulk being in Guardians instead, prior to the confirmation that he was actually appearing in Ragnarok.[/sp]
