Sony: "Venom is part of the MCU, too!" Marvel: "Uh... sure kiddo, whatever you say."

Man I know WB are fucking up hard in general but I hope he gets do that 100 Bullets adaptation even if Venom tanks
Its because his lips dont fully close when he speaks.
quick question given that the premiere is tonight: do i need to watch black panther for infinity war?
Don't NEED to persay but it gives some good background on Wakanda and T'Challa as a whole, rounds him out as an actual character rather than the semi-angry catman we saw in Civil War.
Apparently some of the leaks are fake. Someone mentioned that some scenes filmed are not "canon" to throw people who spoil films off.

Because the "Avengers" trailer music is probably a generic composition both Marvel and Sony licensed from one of those trailer music library companies. This is done rather frequently - another example I can think of is Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Terminator: Genisys using very similar music in their trailers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sHMCRaS3ao https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62E4FJTwSuc
Ok, leaks are out in full fucking force. From what I've seen, either people think its fake (even though its confirmed by several critics) or its a false leak that currently going around. Stay safe people.
the theatre I normally go to for movies doesn't have any 2D showings listed for Avengers, ugh. The next closest one is almost 2 hours away.
I'm watching it in 2 days. Time for a media blackout.
I'd like to get hyped about Venom except they've made it clear Spider-Man is in no way involved. Like, they could have just left it all up to the imagination, have Eddie already be Venom, but instead it's just "hey ummm what if Bruce Banner got pelted with alien go instead of gamma rays?" This is like if WB made a standalone Joker movie, only it takes place in a universe where Batman doesn't exist. Like, what's even the point of it then? Do it right or don't do it at all. If they were gonna just make up something completely new, why couldn't they do Agent Venom instead? He's got NO chance of showing up in the MCU and is only tangentially-related to Peter Parker, unlike Eddie Brock, who is 100% motivated by the relationship between himself, the symbiote, and Spider-Man. Just looks like your typical Sony rushjob, only it's got Tom Hardy in it, so they've got exactly one feather in their cap. I'll catch a matinee, assuming I see it at all.
There's no way they'd make Agent Venom imo. There must've been at least one voice in there saying they needed the classic Venom look, though I agree, it's a way better idea. Sony's bland, corporate style of movies shaded in tones of concrete lends itself well to police/special ops films Ok, seriously though. It'd probably be way better. Because Sony writers would definitely empathize more with police/agent characters who have no control over anything and always need to do what the higher ups say

An Agent Venom film could easily be a sequel, though. Presumably he'll have the symbiote under control and it 'Agent Venom' would be a good way to avoid typical sequel conventions by calling it 'Venom 2.' That is, of course, assuming this film isn't a huge shit-show like most of Sony's repertoire in recent years.
There are a bunch of spoilers going around on instagram right now, as in actual footage from the film of who dies, so be careful.
Just saw it, it was incredible and way beyond my expectation of just an "epic team up against cosmic bad guy". They could have went that route and it would've worked, but they wanted more from this film. You could say that Thanos is the real protagonist of the whole movie.
my theatre finally put up 2D showings, and they actually enabled reserved seating. I've never seen them do that for any movie (that I've gone to) before.
I already swiped past what looked like a blurry cell phone photo of Thanos getting kicked in the nuts, and while that's not exactly a SPOILER, it's definitely enough to get me to delete the Facebook and Twitter shortcuts off of my phone. Guess I'll have to read Mad Magazine while taking a shit, like some kind of caveman. I will update this post after seeing it to confirm whether or not Thanos actually gets kicked in the nuts or if that was a picture of him dying or something, juxtaposed with the caption "OW, MY INFINITY STONES!" for comedic effect.
Man every time I come in here it's like I'm rolling the dice. Probably gonna unsubscribe from this thread now and lay low until Friday.

Saw it, liked it. Too much shaky cam at times and you need basically all of MCU to understand it all are my only complaints. Biggest downer ending in probably all of cinema, as Thanos wins with the iconic snap.
I think this specific thread is on of the least dangerous places when it comes to spoilers. Most people hanging out here have a mutual interest not to spoil each other; and if somebody actually posts a spoiler, I'd imagine it would get reported and deleted pretty fast. Getting spoiled in places you don't except to be spoiled - that's something I'm wary off. I remember reading some completely unrelated webcomic on a meme page, where first 2 panels set up a joke, but then the last two panels were replaced by Fallout 4 spoilers. I couldn't even get mad
MAJOR INFINITY WAR SPOILERS How is Captain Marvel gonna reverse an event the ENTIRE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE OF PROTAGONISTS couldn't stop in the first place? Also if you agree with Thanos being the protagonist, its much easier to watch #thanoswasright
I appreciated how Thanos ended up winning in the end. Too many other films end with the protagonist(s) saving the day, getting the girl, etc. It was almost refreshing to have that feeling of dread, but you also had that sense of optimism if you watched the after-credits scene. I often hate when films end on cliff hangers, but in this case, I’m actually excited for part 2. Actually one of the best MCU films to date. It was great to see a convergence of all of the superheroes from the MCU. Loved seeing Star Lord, Tony Stark, Spider Man and Doctor Strange together.
You see, that aspect of the ending kinda bothers me some, since the characters that die from the snap are obviously coming back. So, I'm not too fond of their statements about how "characters that die stay dead." Sure, the ones that bite it before the snap stay dead, but I was hoping they'd go balls in if they committed to doing the snap.
It might just be me, but I don't like knowing major characters just die, it makes it harder to watch their movies because they're just gonna lose eventually anyway. The cinema was so sombre at the end of the movie and everyone was just waiting for a glimmer of hope in the end of credits scene. No one wants their heroes to die. Also, Dr Strange was all "we're in the end game now" and "this is the only way", so them losing is all part of the long term plan. On a different note, Thanos was a standup guy tbh - respecting promises (not killing Tony), feeling genuine lose for Gamora, having a semi-valid reasons for removing half the universe and wanting it as painless as possible. Really it was his minions that were evil and just liked killing.
For thoses who have seen it : Do I need to watch Black Panther first? I didn't have the time and now that Avengers is out I think I won't be able to see it before.
My recommendation is to watch Black Panther before you go into Infinity War, you won't be totally lost but you will catch some extra details if you watched it first.
