That will be interesting for sure, if it does turn out to be hinting at what you describe. [sp]Sounds neat that Marvel is working in all these extra heroes appearing in Ragnarok. Actually, it also reminds me of those older rumors about Hulk being in Guardians instead, prior to the confirmation that he was actually appearing in Ragnarok.[/sp]
Obviously [sp]Thor alone isn't good enough for a Thor movie[/sp] based off the first two.
theres some really quite creepy images thatre gonna spook unprepared kids big time. one dimension is [sp]completely consisted of hands that fractal out of one another and twist and grab strange. then hands begin to grow out of stranges fingers and then hands begin to grow out of those little finger hands fingers, its a really gross moment of body horror.[/sp]. I cannot stress how good the visual effects are I have no idea how you even plan some of the sequences
just managed to catch doctor strange at the IMAX before my lecture today and it didnt disappoint. some immediate thoughts - it's largely successful due to the visuals, which genuinely I have never seen anything like in a film berore. incredibly creative and psychedelic action sequences and some terrifying extra dimensional concepts. some of the most accurate LSD like imagery put to screen.
the plot is basic but the characters and performances carry it well. another win for marvel, there is literally no comparison to the creativity in this film to something like suicide squad. also the implication of the first after credits sequence is that [sp]strange is gonna be in thor ragnarok.[/sp] check this film out on the biggest screen you can, the 3D also actually enhances the experience here.
here i was thinking id be the first to see it
What if Cable is played by[sp] Hugh Jackman?[/sp]

I'm still holding out for ron perlman
I'm still holding out for ron perlman
Isn't he like 70+ though?
He's 66.

I'm honestly tempted to go see it on LSD.

Either him or Stephen Lang.
So last AoS episode spoiler/easter egg
[sp] the owner of the darkhold seems to be Johnny Blaze. The darkhold was being held in a garage where there was a motorcycle, leather jacket, Quentin Carnival poster, and a chain. [/sp]
I don't know GR lore, what's this book all about?
I don't know GR lore, what's this book all about?
It's Necronomicon of Marvel Universe, created by Cthulhu of Marvel Universe, Chthon.

Yooooooooooooooooooo.
I wonder if they're hinting at [sp]Johnny Blaze[/sp] showing up sometime

It could happen, I guess, but given that they gave Robbie his origin story, it's a little unlikely.
Next episode looks like it's gonna cover how Robbie became the Ghost Rider, including his comic book origin of a car crash caused by a gang shooting, but mixing in Johnny Blaze's deal with the devil, somehow.
He's 66.
He still looks the part and even so, they can just use VFX to make him look younger, he has the wit needed in Deadpool.
Either him or Stephen Lang.
Stephen Lang again, Have you seen Avatar? You don't want to poison a Deadpool movie with that level of acting.

judging an actor's skill by a single movie?
Honestly any of these suggestions could work as Cable, apart from Hugh Jackman, but I would still love to see that, maybe just to really rub in how screwed up the X-Men continuity is by this point.
What I'm most concerned about is how ridiculous they're going to make him look. I want him to be 50% pouches, 50% muscle, with a gun that is at LEAST the size of a child. Best case scenario they use CGI and dark magic to make him look as close to a Liefeld drawing that a human can possibly get.
Dr. Strange was really fucking good. I enjoyed it a lot and appreciated its amazing creative effects. I also liked how unlikeable Strange was/is during the movie. The fights were a bit too shaky but other than that it was a fresh take with the magic infused action scenes. The movie isn't that long so time will fly without noticing. My biggest gripe is the villain (again) like usual. A throwaway character but he at least has some kind of motivation that the viewer can understand, but is still forgettable.
Highly recommended.
judging an actor's skill by a single movie?
His acting is pretty generic in his other roles too, but Avatar is the biggest example.

Yeah, he was one of the good parts of Avatar.

I actually said Jackman because it could work with the continuity they're setting up with Logan.
I mean, its happened before.

Just because something happened before doesn't mean it's a good idea.
At all.

Oh i know, i just think it'd be funny.
Also, its not like it'd be the first time Fox did something even though it wasnt a good idea.
i was about to say "why not josh brolin" but then i remembered
Just saw Doctor Strange in 4D. My first experience with 4D, never again. No, I don't want to be thrown around like the characters in the movie and feel like I'm being gassed only to "smell the scene" or feel the wind of the scene. That hissing is just too damn loud.
As for the movie, it's fine, funny but the same Marvel origin formula. [sp]Even following the classic step of wasting a great actor on Mr BadGuy whose name you won't remember unless a character says it in the movie.[/sp]
So yeah, unless you are getting tired of the formula go see it. The 3D actually works pretty well in this movie. The CGI is probably the best part. Plus the jokes mostly work.
Proper plot spoilers:
[sp]Why didn't Mr Bad Guy steal the whole book AND the Eye?
How was Strange fine only a couple of moments after getting stabbed near the heart and dying?
Why wasn't Dormammu a flaming head?
Also they really blew their load early on in the movie with the dimensions. After that the crazy scenes got way less mindfuck-y with only few memorable moments. Everything was just "turn everything into tiny moving objects".[/sp]
