He's always been pretty thin. I think he's been looking more rough lately because of doing a lot of Infinity War press, maybe not sleeping very much.
Considering his wingman is more spoilery chatty hypey than Tom Holland ever thought about being you'd be gaunt too. The best part is they paired them for the opposite reason, Cheadle has been a raving Marvel fanboy since birth and they stuck him with Mark so he wouldn't spoil stuff. Actually I think the reason is his family has a history of diabetes and consdering his age, he's probably thrown carbs in the trash completely.
your blog post is A+ man, hits the nail firmly on the head on how I feel about IW I thought it was a superb, amazing film and I can't wait to see what's next for the MCU. Now, two scenes really surprised me, for two separate reasons (spoilers obviously); 1) Red Skull is alive(?). Like, wow. I did NOT see that coming in a thousand years. I do hope that this isn't the end of his character, because Red Skull is one of my favourite Cap villains 2) Of course Eitri was played by Peter Dinklage, who else would play a 'dwarf'? Honestly, I didn't rate his performance as much. Certainly not bad, and not enough to change my opinion of the film but I dunno, maybe it was his accent. Or maybe because there was such good performance from other actors his just kinda stood out as 'not as good' for me. Maybe it's just me.
Im really glad i saw
I'm actually really impressed, I haven't seen a single "I love getting these in my lunchbox" meme since it came out. The big hot meme seems to be "post a spoiler without context", which I absolutely love and want to see become the norm for situations like this. No one is gonna look at a photo collage of Squidward, a donut, and Zenyatta and be able to guess what relation those things have to the movie itself. The worst of it seems to be the whole "I don't wanna go/I don't feel so good" bit, and even then there's some vital context missing. My personal favorite though is where they make like they're doing the whole "hide a spoiler in an innocuous meme" thing, only for the spoiler to be something like "Lightening McQueen dies in Infinity War"

im thinking maybe they [sp] start with a scene where all the characters that survive get turned into dust, and the ones who died survive, and then you know you are in a parallel universe where they join to fight thanos and rewind time{/sp]
Creating a miniature reactor in a cave with a box of scraps ✓ Inventing a fully operational flightsuit capable of advanced maneuvers ✓ Developing not one but several increasingly more complex AIs ✓ Creating a new element to further power those suits ✓ Making the suits fly at you and deploy on your body part by part with surgical precision ✓ Shrinking down the compact version to the size of a suitcase ✓ Making the suit nano-tech ✘ I don't get it

So this evening I went to the local theatre to watch Infinity War and, as detailed here, I was very, very plesantly surprised. Some things I'd like to add for the sole purpose of this thread: I had dinner with my friends before watching the movie and, more as a joke as to anything else, I predicted that the Red Skull of all people was going to appear in the movie as his fate at the end of Captain America: The First Avengers was left ambigous for a long time and this film was the perfect opportunity to shed some light on his current situation. Well, guess FUCKING WHO. While I never had a strong hate toward the Guardians of the Galaxy as a whole, I really didn't like both Drax and Peter Quill in this film. The former has been turned into a full-time comedic relief despite his huge connection toward Thanos (which is brought up to in only one brief scene) , while the latter is like Drax but worse, can be best described as a fucking asshole for the majority of the plot and basically throws away one of the best chances at defeating Thanos for good, which, while kinda in-character for him, was incredibly stupid all the way. I'm not into Marvel comics that much, but isn't the Vision supposed to be one if not the most powerful Avengers due to his huge array of powers? I mean, in this movie he gets rescued of backed up more than he actually defeats bad guys personally, especially when he's saved from Corvus Glaive by Black Widow of all people, who is badass normal hero at best. I'm very glad that this time around the Scarlet Witch actually got to do something. Granted, it was very little, but hey, in the years I've learned to be content of what I'm given, to be honest.
I felt that way about Drax too. Gamora's scenes were incredible, but I really wished they had done more with the Drax/Thanos dynamic outside of playing it off as a joke when Drax is too awkward to wait to get his revenge later on.
Made some fresh OC (kinda-sorta contextless spoilers): https://youtu.be/sUwoJ6aWbLw
The significant flaws in Thanos' world views are best explained by the fact he is a fucking psycho. His view of the world is not only biased but also fucked completely beyond repair. He is and always was the mad titan, they just managed to make him really articulate about his insanity.
Thanos' views make perfect sense if you just get rid of empathy and attachment and all the other stuff that makes most sentient, functional individuals both sentient and functional. I head that the little exchange between Strange and Wong is foreshadowing of Thanos' outlook; "attachment to the material is detachment from the spiritual" is basically Thanos' position on the universe as a whole. Everyone else would rather keep everyone alive and have some people be miserable while Thanos would rather have everyone be happy but also have half of everyone be dead; from his POV, the former is selfish love, while his idea of love is selfless.
Thanos could just use the infinity gauntlet to double the size of the world and double all available resources but he's literally too focused on murderfucking to think about anything else but straight up murder.
As much as I don't want them to just shoehorn stuff from the comics in to please fans, I feel like introducing Lady Death in some fashion would help contextualize Thanos' motives in the next movie. There are a lot of people who don't seem to get that he's crazy and think pointing out "lol but if you can do anything just make more corn for everyone" is exposing a legitimate plot hole in the movie; I think someone in this thread mentioned having Death be like an apparition whispering in his ear that only he can see. To everyone else, he's a deluded tyrant, but from his perspective, he's merely a servant of a higher power, doing what's right for the fate of the universe. Because let's face it; they're gonna have to fight Thanos in the sequel and it's going to be hard to justify making him the big bad villain in ceremonial armor again after this movie ended with him peacefully chillaxing on a farm. Here we kinda got the impression that he wasn't interested in going out of his way to kill anyone he didn't have to, and that's all gonna have to change when they challenge him again. So maybe showing his mental state deteriorating as a side-effect of omnipotence (which is something they touch on in the comic) would help facilitate that. And adding Death in there would help it feel more natural than "uh-oh he's back AND THIS TIME HE'S EVEN MEANER!"
I didn't get a lot of it I still don't totally understand who Squidward is supposed to be. Ebony Maw? And Zenyatta is Vision? And the donut the space ships?
Yep, Tony Stark calls Ebony Maw "Squidward" when they first are introduced in the New York fight scene.
I even laughed at that part, so I don't know why I forgot it. Thanks.
The Marvel vs Capcom 2 bit was actually taken from a recent video of maximilian doing the infamous Thanos infinite combo on hulk, no less https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_GGJPH2ix4 .
I thought Tony Stark is gonna die because RDJ might quit Ironman
We still have 1 more film so it's still in the realm of possibility.
Another two things I forgot to mention above is that I currently believe Loki didn't actually die in the movie's opening scene (given that the circumstances would be far too stupid for the character), so that he can pop out unexpected in the second part and have at last his redemption arc, and that maybe the finale would had been even more poignant if Thanatos himself was going to be one of the sacrifices and come to accept it with a smile
How exactly was loki killed? When I saw the movie I was pretty sure I heard a snapping sound, so I assumed thanos snapped his neck, but everyone online is saying he was choked to death. I know it's a movie but it seemed way to quick to be strangulation.
That's what most people expected, I think. Him and/or Captain America since their contracts are up after the second film Also, related spoilers for the next Avengers film: I really don't understand why they decided to film those time travel scenes on actual streets, instead of building a small set like they did for Avengers 1. Renting an apartment close to the filming locations in Atlanta is probably piss easy. When the photos leaked, basically everybody jumped on the chance to spoil the fourth film even before the third one came out.
I think whatever conditions that they reverse to get the 50% dust people back will also bring gamora and loki back. But i do think that the majority of hero characters that survived at the end of the movie will be either dying for real or passing the torch so to speak.
Yeah, some of the OGs are definitely either dying or retiring at the end of this, with Tony and Cap being the most likely candidates.
I for one am looking forward to Bucky Captain America
watch as we get Captain Falcon instead
Saw it yesterday, now i can finally navigate these fucking pages without playing frogger with my cursor. Also - was not spoiled even once before premiere in Moscow, movie hit me hard and i enjoyed that tingly feeling in my balls.
